Abstract: The invention provides, in a method of perfusion magnetic resonance imaging of a region of interest in a vascularized animal subject, said method comprising administering a contrast agent bolus into the vascular system of said subject; determining the magnetic resonance signal strength si(t) for voxels (i) of said region of interest at a series of time values (t) over a period from before contrast agent arrival in said region of interest to at least the end of the first pass of said contrast agent through said region of interest; from the determined values si(t) for said signal strength and an arterial input function v(t), determining values for the tissue residue function ri(t) for each said voxel; and optionally generating an image of said region of interest from the determined values of ri(t); the improvement comprising generating from si(t) a voxel specific arterial function vi(t) and using said voxel specific arterial function to determine the values of the tissue residue function ri(t).
Abstract: A circuit board of a parallel light-emitting circuit of parallel LED light-emitting device has an electrical insulation board, two wire patterns and at least two power wires. The two wire patterns are oppositely formed on the electrical insulation board. Each wire pattern is connected to the corresponding power wire and has a matrix main loop having closed loops and a plurality of sub-wires formed inside the corresponding closed loop. A plurality of LEDs are respectively mounted on the corresponding closed loop and electrically connect with the two sub-wires of the two wire patterns. When a DC power supply is inputted to the power wires, a current of the DC power supply uniformly flows through the matrix main loop and the sub-wires, so that the LEDs electrically connected to the corresponding sub-wires receive approximately equal current to further emit light with uniform brightness.
Abstract: A RE-type oxide superconducting wire having excellent angular dependence for magnetic field of Jc is obtained by finely dispersing magnetic flux pinning centers into a superconductor. A mixed solution which comprises a metal-organic complex solution including a metal element which composes a RE-type oxide superconductor whose Ba content is reduced and a metal-organic complex solution including at least one or more kinds of metals which are selected from Zr, Ce, Sn, or Ti which has a larger affinity for Ba is coated onto an intermediate layer of a composite substrate, and the assembly is then calcined to disperse artificially and finely oxide particles (magnetic flux pinning centers) including Zr. Thus, the angular dependence for magnetic field (Jc,min/Jc,max) of Jc can be remarkably improved.

Abstract: A DC power supply apparatus and method of supplying DC power for mission critical applications utilizes multiple power circuits in one unit, the power circuits being optimizable for efficiency as the load increases or decreases. The individual power supplies may use a multiphase topology within the power circuits, with logic phase shifts between multiphase, and two types of power management circuits arranged in parallel, or an equivalent controller, for implementing: (a) a variable linear or variable exponential precision droop algorithm, and (b) a “virtual bus” or current averaging/active current sharing circuit, the current sharing being provided by a low bandwidth communications link between droop controllers in each of the power circuits.

Abstract: One aspect of the present invention provides a fastening strap assembly for used in a foam article. The fastening strap assembly includes a substrate having two sidewalls each formed along one side thereof in a longitudinal direction and spaced apart from each other; a substantially fishbone-shaped fastening member disposed between the sidewalls and adhered to the substrate, the fastening member having an elongate central rib and a plurality of fastening parts laterally extending from either sides of the rib and longitudinally spaced apart from each other, each fastening part having a plurality of hooks formed on a upper surface thereof; and a magnetic layer disposed between the substrate and the fastening member. The fastening strap assembly of the present invention has a unique sideway bending/curving function. Another aspect of the present invention provides a foam article, such as a seat cushion, including the sideway-bendable fastening strap assembly.
Abstract: A projection system incorporating a prism with dual total internal reflection function, to increase the performance of DLP™ projection, by offering a solution to combine 2 light paths to contribute to the brightness on the screen and at the same time rejecting flat-state and off-state light from entering the projection lens thereby enhancing contrast. In one implementation those two light paths can be collecting light from 2 different light sources which are driven in a pulsed manner with a duty cycle of approximately 50% for each of the two light sources at increased power. In a second implementation with a color sequential single DMD™ projector, while one light path passes a primary color the second light path passes the complementary secondary color. A special color transformation algorithm is proposed to transform the image input signals to make optimal use of the capabilities offered by the second implementation, and create maximum brightness and color saturation of the image.
Abstract: A method for forming a metal pattern on a substrate via printing and electroless plating is disclosed, which includes printing a pattern on the substrate with an ink composition, drying the printed pattern, and contacting the dried pattern with an electroless plating solution. The ink composition either contains components (i), (ii) and (iii), components (i) and (iv), or components (i) and (v), which are dissolved or dispersed in a solvent, wherein (i) is a binder; (ii) is a sulfate terminated polymer of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer; (iii) is a catalytic metal precursor; (iv) is a polymer of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer deposited with particles of catalytic metal; and (v) is a copolymer of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a hydrophilic monomer deposited with particles of catalytic metal. The binder (i) is a water swellable resin. The catalytic metal may be Au, Ag, Pd, Pt or Ru.
Abstract: A polymer bushing includes a conductor bar, a conductor insertion hole at a lower end, a rigid insulator around the outer circumference of the conductor bar and having a receiving port for a cable termination, a polymer covering around the outer circumference of the insulator and a number of shades 4a formed separately along the longer dimension at the outer circumference. A large diameter part is provided above the conductor insertion hole which is in the vicinity of the lower end part of the insulator. A cylindrical shielding metal fitting is concentrically embedded together with the conductor bar in the large diameter part. An electric-field stress-control layer is provided at the interface between the large diameter part and the polymer covering.
Abstract: A titanium-containing PET copolyester has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.72-0.90 dl/g and a maximum amount of heat released during crystallization transition through a DSC analysis at a given heating rate of 20° C./min being less than 10 joules/gram, which contains polyethylene terephthalate as a major component and contains titanium component in an amount of 2-25 ppm based on the total copolyester weight, X mole % of isophthalic acid based on the copolyester, Y mole % of diethylene glycol based on the copolyester, Z mole % of 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid based on the copolyester, wherein X, Y, Z conforms to the following conditions: 0?X?2.5; 1.0?Y?2.5; 0?Z?2.5; 2.5?X+Y+Z?7.5; and the PET copolyester is suitable for manufacturing an injection stretch blow molded refillable container having an inner volume of greater than 10 litters and capable of being returnable and refillable up to 20 loops of returning.
Abstract: An organic light-emitting laminate for use in an organic electroluminescent device, characterized in comprising: a first light-emitting layer, including a first main light-emitting material and a first phosphorescent material, a second light-emitting layer, including a second main light-emitting material and a second phosphorescent material, formed on the first light-emitting layer, and a carrier-transporting material, which is included in at least one of the first light-emitting layer and the second light-emitting layer; wherein the first main light-emitting material, the second main light-emitting material and the carrier-transporting material each have a triplet energy level higher than that of the first phosphorescent material and the second phosphorescent material. The present invention also provides an organic electroluminescent device containing the organic light-emitting laminate.

Abstract: A copolymer deposited with particles of catalytic metal is disclosed in the present invention, which is formed from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a hydrophilic monomer, and the catalytic metal is Au, Ag, Pd, Pt or Ru. The copolymer is hydrophilic when the temperature is lower than a specific temperature, and will become hydrophobic when the temperature is greater than the specific temperature. The present invention also discloses a method for forming a metal layer on a substrate via electroless plating, which includes contacting the substrate with an ink composition, drying the ink composition on the substrate, and contacting the dried ink composition with an electroless plating solution, wherein the ink composition contains the copolymer of the present invention in an aqueous phase. The present invention further discloses a method for forming metal conductors in through holes of a substrate.

Abstract: Disclosed is a fuel cell reaction layer which is excellent in durability and heat resistance while having a low operation temperature. In addition, supply of an oxygen gas to the fuel cell reaction layer is hardly disturbed. Also disclosed are a fuel cell and a method for producing such a fuel cell reaction layer. Specifically disclosed is a fuel cell reaction layer wherein a mixed conductive catalyst is used. The mixed conductive catalyst includes a conductive carrier composed of an electron conductor formed of carbon and a proton conductor formed of an inorganic material. The electron conductor is an inorganic material comprising a polymerized and carbonized organic monomer: the proton conductor is an inorganic material, and the electron conductor and the proton conductor are bonded together. In addition, a water-repellent carbon is further blended in this fuel cell reaction layer.
