  • Patent number: 8312115
Abstract: An operating system deployment arrangement provides a database connected to a network for use in monitoring the boot status of machines connected to sub-networks of the network. A workstation connected to a sub-network is adapted to act as a server for a pre-installation environment to machines newly connecting to the sub-network or at the same geographical location. The workstation carries a program for detecting boot initiation messages broadcast on the sub-network and for progressing booting of newly connecting machines in accordance with boot action data held by the database. In particular, the workstation also sends a software agent and operating system deployment processes to a newly connected machine and the agent takes over progression of the booting process from the workstation. The data held in the database for any one machine is updated as booting progresses.

  • Patent number: 8311728
Abstract: The invention relates to a navigation system for aircraft comprising inertial sensors, a GNSS receiver and potentially a baro-altimeter. The measurements from the inertial sensors are hybridized with the code and phase measurements from the receiver within a main Kalman filter and, possibly, secondary filters. The said measurements are corrected for several types of errors, notably those due to the passage of the satellite signals through the ionospheric layers. The precision of the determination of the position of the aircraft is greatly improved, both in the horizontal plane and in the vertical direction. This is also the case for the corresponding protection radii, which allows margins to be created in order to satisfy the integrity constraints for the navigation solution.

  • Patent number: 8302247
Abstract: A paint roller including a roller cover retainer that is releasable to permit a roller cover to be easily removed. The device includes a locking lever pivotable relative to the frame which actuates retainers located within the roller assembly. The locking lever also exerts an axial force adapted to disengage the roller cover from the roller assembly when the retainer is disengaged. A used roller cover can be removed without the need to grasp the used roller cover. Installation of a roller cover onto the roller assembly automatically engages the retainers and shifts the locking lever into the locked position.

  • Patent number: 8298252
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for removing obstructive material within a body lumen. The apparatus includes a macerator device deployable from a sheath that includes an expandable cage carried by a shaft and within a constraint tube. The shaft is movable relative to the constraint tube for deploying and expanding the cage within a body lumen such that an open end of the cage is oriented towards obstructive material. The cage is advanced to capture the material or the material is directed into the cage using an expandable member expanded beyond the material and retracted to direct the material into the cage. The cage is withdrawn into the constraint tube to compress the cage radially inwardly. Material extending through apertures in the cage are sheared off by a sharpened edge of the constraint tube. The smaller, sheared off particles are then aspirated from the body lumen through the sheath.

  • Patent number: 8299955
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for cleaning signals for centralized antijamming. The invention makes it possible to provide as many cleaned antenna channels as sub-arrays with limited computational requirements. The method proceeds in two steps. Initially, an antijamming matrix is computed. This matrix depends on the noise covariance matrix, on a weighting vector representing the form of the desired antenna pattern on reception in an unjammed environment, and on constraints for preserving the shape of this antenna pattern. Subsequently, the signals arising from the antenna sub-arrays undergo a linear recombination effected by the antijamming matrix. The antijamming method is termed centralized since the data necessary for the antijamming processing are concentrated in the lone antijamming matrix. The invention applies notably to radar systems, notably to airborne radar systems.
