    Abstract: A fuel filter for the inlet of a fuel pump having upper and lower wall portions each constructed of a material with a plurality of openings. The lower wall portion has a greater total thickness and/or a smaller average opening size than the upper wall portion to provide more effective filtration of the fuel drawn into the fuel pump through the lower wall of the filter. The filter also causes a greater resistance to fuel flow through the lower wall thereby increasing the rate of fuel drawn through the upper wall of the filter.

    Abstract: Tools for inserting a spout of a flexible bag liner into fluid-tight sealing and anchoring engagement with a discharge outlet of a container and for removing the spout from the outlet. The spout has at least two seal rings, preferably each having a pair of axially spaced and radially outwardly extending lobes, for firmly frictionally engaging the container discharge outlet to provide a fluid-tight seal between the spout and outlet and to anchor the liner within the container. The tools have a collet carried by a shaft for releasably engaging the spout to apply force to the spout during operation of the tools. In one form the tools are actuated by a hydraulic or pneumatic drive and in another form the tools are manually actuated by pivotally moving a lever arm.

    Abstract: An electric-motor liquid fuel turbine pump wherein the pump impeller periphery has a circumferential array of axial counter flow blades arranged in radially spaced outer and inner concentric circular rows. An arcuate pumping channel includes first and second channel section arcuate grooves axially opposed in side-flanking relationship to the impeller and radially co-extensive with both blade rows to conjointly define a toroidal helical flow path extending circumferentially between the pumping channel inlet and outlet ports. The grooves have a constant radial cross section but the first groove cross sectional area is greater than that of the second groove. The impeller may be a one-piece molded part, or a two-part subassembly of an inner impeller disc and encircling outer impeller ring each having a row of blades formed at its periphery. A pump inlet cap has a top face defining one side plate for the impeller and the first channel groove communicating at one end with the channel inlet.

    Abstract: A sorting equipment comprising a plurality of running trucks which travel in a coupled condition with one another along a definite travelling route comprised of a pair of rails. Disposed in each of the running trucks is a conveyor for conveying load laterally relative to a running direction. Induction lines are laid for supplying a high-frequency current along the travelling rails and a pickup coil is disposed in the running truck in an opposed relation to the induction lines. Rollers provided to each running truck which are to be brought into contact with the travelling rails are comprised of electrically conductive wheels, and the travelling rails are made of an electrically conductive material. In each running truck, a linear motor is disposed above the travelling rails and a metal plate is disposed on the linear motor. The metal plate is connected to an earthling conductor wired in the running truck, and the earthling conductor is connected to the rollers.

    Abstract: An image register for a graphics display includes a pair of static random access memory (SRAM) devices for respectively storing image data associated with even numbered and odd numbered pixels, which correspond to even numbered and odd numbered addresses. The register includes a counter presettable to an initial value corresponding to a starting address of the stored image data. When the counter outputs an even address (an even state), the even SRAM is enabled for a write operation if an input layer code has a higher priority than the priority of the layer code for the image data stored in the even SRAM, although the odd SRAM is always enabled for a read operation in the even state. The read and write operations occur simultaneously. During the read operation on the odd SRAM, the layer code portion of the image data retrieved therefrom is latched in an associated buffer, whose output is fed to an associated comparator.

    Abstract: A door latch operator for retracting a door latch comprises a handle having upper and lower end portions formed with front faces attachable to a door and a vertical hand grip portion between the upper and lower end portions. The upper end portion is in the form of a hollow housing having a chamber therein. The hand grip portion is in the form of a generally U-shaped channel which communicates at one end with the interior of the housing. A lever for operating the door latch is pivoted in the housing and extends into the channel in the hand grip portion to a position where it may be squeezed and rotated from a withdrawn position to a latch retracting position by a hand on the hand grip portion. The handle and the lever are both solid brass forgings.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a wafer metrology pattern integrating both overlay and critical dimension features for SEM or AFM measurements. The present invention provides an improved test mask target which contains lines measuring 0.25 .mu.m, 0.3 .mu.m, and 0.5 .mu.m. The spaces between the lines can be adjusted accordingly. The improved test mask target provides a pattern that combines the wafer critical dimension and box-in-box overlay targets into a single structure. As a result, the pattern may be used for both overlay and critical dimension verifications in a single AMF or SEM measurement. More precisely, wafer overlay and critical dimension disposition may be made simultaneously, reducing the need to perform multiple measurements at each testing step.

    Abstract: A self-contained electric fuel pump having a d.c. motor with an armature having a commutator plate. An outlet end assembly has an inner cover and an outer cover. The inner cover is provided with brushes which contact the commutator plate. Electrically conductive pins mounted on the inner cover are electrically connected to the brushes. The outer cover is disposed over the inner cover and has electric terminals for connection to a source of d.c. current. The outer cover has choke coils connected to the terminals and electrically conductive tabs connected to the choke coils. When the outer cover is assembled on the inner cover, the tabs engage the pins to complete an electric circuit to the brushes.

A fuzzy inference database for the degree of membership is first established in a microprocessor by a fuzzy inference method, the membership function in the fuzzy database has a range between 0 to 1 at full scale for the degree of membership function. When the microprocessor detects an input data, a slope distance ratio and the corresponding coordinates are determined and compared using the input data and the fuzzy database established in the microprocessor. The ratio determined by the greatly simplified method is the degree of membership function.

    Abstract: A temperature compensated carburetor including a composite valve member comprising a bi-metal strip and a gate valve needle for varying the effective flow cross-sectional area of the main and/or idle fuel supply duct to modulate the flow rate of fuel to the carburetor venturi mixing passage. The bi-metal strip generates substantially all of temperature-change-induced movement of the valve needle. The needle may be made of brass or aluminum, or alternatively of plastic material having a much greater coefficient of expansion than the aluminum carburetor body in which it is adjustable mounted such that differential linear expansion and contraction of the valve needle itself, as well as that of the bi-metal, relative to the carburetor body in response to ambient temperature changes varies the flow-controlling cross-sectional area of the fuel duct inversely relative to ambient temperature changes. A needle cylindrical mounting portion at one end is threadably secured in the strip movable free end.

A method for manufacturing the biodegradable filament nonwoven fabric is also disclosed herein.
