Abstract: A manually compressible reservoir, such as a rubber bulb is provided in which a liquid medication is maintained and from which an outlet conduit extends to a selected body part. The prosthesis includes a piston for storing separately from the reservoir a predetermined dose of medication and which piston is responsive to the manual compression of the reservoir to discharge the predetermined dose and on release to automatically cause the medication to flow from the reservoir to restore a predetermined dose so that repeated operation and delivery of medication is possible.
Abstract: A test probe for determining the logic state of a digital logic circuit, which probe utilizes threshold detectors to determine the relative voltage level of a test point, and gate circuits to enable various voltage conditions, e.g., a ground, high, low, uncommitted, or a supply voltage, or a random pulse or a pulse train, to be be monitored and the test result indicated on an LED alpha display device. The threshold detectors are selectively settable so that the probe is particularly adapted to test TTL and CMOS circuitry.
Abstract: An improved arrangement of so-called upper and lower curbs with interposed springs having an interconnected condition allowing for their delivery to an installation site as a single modular section, and at said site each section bolted together and then readily released from each other to then allow vibratory movement in said upper curb relative to said lower curb on said interposed springs, and wherein the release is produced by the force urgency in the springs which dampen the vibration of the air handling unit which is mounted on the curbs.
Abstract: One or more panels of similar construction are formed having a frame on a pair of planar decorative faces are secured. The frame is provided with a centrally located groove in its peripheral edges. One or more connecting bars are provided each having plate-like projections fitting into the grooves. The frames and bars are provided with cooperatively engaging means for removably interlocking the panels and the bars together.
Abstract: An article of manufacture which can be folded in a loosely closed condition about a newspaper, to obviate the inadvertent transfer of newsprint therefrom, and released to partake of a slight opening movement which correspondingly releases the individual pages for facilitated reading of the newspaper.
Abstract: A planter formed of two sections, one disposed within the other, in which cooperating projections provided on the sections must slide over each other during the disassembly thereof, so that there is frictional resistance which obviates inadvertent disassembly of the planter.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for simultaneously cutting a plurality of picture frame mats with picture display windows in a single operative procedure by initially arranging the mats in a reverse and inverted order and cutting them with an apparatus mounting a plurality of cutters, one for each mat, at an angle to the planes of the mats and thereafter separating and rearranging the mats to frame the picture in their desired picture frame array.
Abstract: A heat exchanger is formed of a pair of concentrically arranged cylindrical shells, closed at each end to define a chamber through which water can pass. A combustion element extends into the inner shell from one end along the axis thereof and is connected to a source of heat such as a gas/air mixture which ignites in the combustion element causing the radiation of heat outwardly from the combustion element. The inner shell is formed of a corrugated wall which may be formed as a single corrugation comprising a continuous helix along the length thereof or a plurality of undulations extending along the length of the cylinder.
Abstract: After attachment of a tap member or the like to the bushing bearing to be removed, the inventive extractor hereof uses to advantage a pressure fluid, such as grease, to force the tap member with its attached bearing in an exiting direction from its blind hole, and if the force thereof is inadequate for this purpose, then provides for advancing the tap member, also in an exiting direction, along the threads of a rotated operative member disposed centrally of the tap member, said operative member being held by the pressure fluid against longitudinal movement so that the tap member and not said operative member partakes of this movement. Thus, the pressure fluid in effect serves as a "cushion" for the applied forces and, in this way, contributes to extraction of the bushing bearing without damage being caused to the bottom wall of the blind hole.
Abstract: A heat exchanger is formed of a pair of concentrically arranged open-ended cylindrical shells, defining a chamber therebetween, in through which water can pass. Each end of the pair of shells is closed by a removable cap. A combustion element extends into the inner shell from one end along the axis thereof and is connected to a source of heat such as a gas/air mixture which ignites in the combustion element causing the radiation of heat outwardly from the combustion element. A continuous helical wire is located in the chamber, between the inlet and the outlet and in contact with the opposing walls of the chamber to convert the chamber into an elongated helical passage.
Abstract: In a dustpan pivotally attached to an end of a handle, and latched to extend laterally thereof and unlatched to cause discharge therefrom as the dustpan assumes a vertically extending position, the improvement consisting of moving the latching pin, rather than the pin-engaging hooks of the pan. Thus, this pin movement is advantageously used not only during unlatching of the pan, but also during the latching in place thereof, which greatly simplifies the construction and operational mode of the dustpan.
Abstract: Pivotal attachments are incorporated in the construction of a restaurant tray support stand which provide the option of doubling the tray-supporting capacity thereof, without necessitating any significant complicating changes in construction or mode of use. The inventive stand is still easy to position, set-up and use, either with one or, according to the present invention, a second tray support area or station.
Abstract: A holder having a chamber that is recessed and has compartments in which indicia elements having engaging projections are received. The compartments have access openings in opposed walls of the chamber that are bendable to increase the size of the compartments for easy insertion of the indicia elements thereinto and removal of the same therefrom.
Abstract: A home portable tabletop carbonated beverage making apparatus and method of making carbonated beverages utilizing a pressurized source of gas, as carbon dioxide, to carbonate a container of liquid by causing the liquid to agitate and to flow within the container while the gas is being supplied to it and vented to escape from it so that the liquid presents changing surfaces to the gas to effect substantial saturation of the liquid with the gas to enhance its carbonation.
