Abstract: A voice synthesizer is disclosed for simulating a voice singing the lyrics of a song. The synthesizer comprises a phoneme speech synthesizer in which the phonemes are sounded at a pitch controlled by the keys or notes played on a musical keyboard. The tempo of the sung lyrics is controlled by the tempo at which the keys of the keyboard are played.
Abstract: A garment hanger for shaping the front and rear of a garment supported thereon by garment shaping sections that are connected in separated spaced relation to each other.
Abstract: A cart of the type similar to that used for carrying luggage at airports or the like which, in its unfolded condition, provides two laterally extending support shelves; one for a supply length of blank paper, and one for the paper after it has been imprinted upon and made into a computer printout. The cart is constructed to unfold from a compact storage condition into a two-shelf support, as and for the purposes just noted, wherein the upper shelf on an upper body frame snaps into place onto a lower frame component in assuming its laterally extending position, and this engagement effectively holds the two frames in extending relation to each other as well as forms a pushing handle for the cart.
Abstract: In the current practice of using an extruded elastomeric strip as a seal in a concrete expansion joint, in which the transverse walls more particularly are embodied with a chevron shape, the improvement thereto consisting of making the angled walls of the chevron steeper and spaced more centrally thereof, so that the seal both maintains continuous contact with the vertical faces of the expansion joint and also has a predictably consistent response to compressive forces.
Abstract: A plexiglass or similar plastic windvane that has beveled peripheral edges or is otherwise provided with surface markings from which light rays impinging thereon exit from the plexiglass causing illumination of the edges or markings, whereby the windvane is effectively used at night or under conditions of diminished visibility to designate wind direction.
Abstract: A water purifier for treating water intended for drinking and like purposes, for installation at point-of-use, i.e., home, office or workplace, which is effective in removing additional contaminents therefrom using a heated carbon filter and distillation, in which the water being purified is heated and induced to alternately flow back and forth between an open compartment used for the filter and a closed evaporator in which it is distilled, the intervals of flow into the filter compartment being effective to heat the filter to thereby increase its ability to remove heavy molecular pollutants (e.g., pesticides, herbicides, etc.) and also being an advantageous location from which there is released to atmosphere low molecular volatile pollutants (e.g.
Abstract: An oral composition for the preventative treatment of dental disease is provided. The composition includes an active ingredient selected from the group consisting of ascorbic acid, pyridoxine hydrochloride, and an anti-inflammatory agent admixed in a vehicle including a gelling agent. Sodium fluoride may also be included. Method and apparatus for dispensing this composition are further provided.
Abstract: A dispenser for articles comprised of a plurality of laterally interlocking planar partitions with a space between adjacent partitions to form a column for storing the articles to be dispensed. One end of the column defines a customer receiving position for dispensing a last-to-be loaded article from the column. Each column has means that urges the articles towards the customer receiving or dispensing position to hold the last-to-be loaded and first-to-be dispensed article thereat. A slight movement of the article held in the dispensing position causes the same to eject partially therefrom.
Abstract: An apparatus for the collection of solar heat energy and a solar collector for use therewith in which a fluid media is conducted to flow in heat exchange relation with a heat absorber that can be selectively activated and deactivated for use without disassembly of the apparatus and in which the heat absorber is enclosed within a heat exchanger having a plurality of chambers at least one of which is in the path of the direct rays of the sun, but which permits an exchange and equalization of temperatures in all of the chambers while the whole is enclosed in an outer housing.
Abstract: An improved arrangement of so-called upper and lower curbs with interposed springs having an interconnected condition allowing for their delivery to an installation site as a single unit, and at said site being readily released from each other to then allow vibratory movement in said upper curb relative to said lower curb on said interposed springs, and wherein the release is produced by the force urgency in the springs which dampen the vibration of the air handling unit which is mounted on the curbs.
Abstract: The combination with a paper tissue-dispensing box of a scent-imparting sachet, in which the supply stack of tissues acts as a closure for the box and provides a confined area, i.e., much like a bureau drawer, in which the sachet is able to impart its scent effectively over a prolonged period to the tissues removed therefrom one at a time.
Abstract: As a construction improvement to the commonly used device that typically is attached to the hose of a "hot air" clothes dryer to assist in indoor venting of the hot air, the within hose-attached device has a conical shape projecting into the path of the incoming hot air which, after being impinged upon, deflects the hot air along angular paths which significantly increases the volume of the hot air which is effectively discharged through the exit openings of the device, and to this extent the within device thus correspondingly diminishes the volume of hot air which otherwise back flows through the hose and adversely effects the operation of the clothes dryer.
Abstract: An improved unitary bulk restoring dental post having a stem of substantially parallel threaded sides divided along its length into separate legs for threaded insertion into a tooth root canal by a wrench that applies a predetermined torque to the dental post to thread it into the tooth root for crown restoration.
