Abstract: A housing is disclosed which may be used for a tachograph. The housing includes a battery holder and at least one fastening element arranged to fasten the battery holder to the housing. With the housing it is possible to mount a battery in an exchangeable manner while preventing the possibility of manipulating the components inside the housing during a changing of the battery. When the battery holder is mounted on the housing, the fastening element can only be accessed from the inside of the housing.
Abstract: A method for forming an underlayer composed of a GaN-based compound semiconductor is provided. In this method, at the time of epitaxial growth of an underlayer on the surface of a sapphire substrate, no gap is generated between the underlayer and the surface of the sapphire substrate. The method for forming an underlayer composed of a GaN-based compound semiconductor includes the steps of forming strip seed layers composed of a GaN-based compound semiconductor on the surface of a sapphire substrate, forming a crystal growth promoting layer composed of a GaN-based compound semiconductor on the top surfaces and both the side surfaces of the seed layers, and on the exposed surfaces of the sapphire substrate, and epitaxially growing an underlayer composed of a GaN-based compound semiconductor from the parts of the crystal growth promoting layer.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for regulating a pump power of an optical amplifier, where a multiplexed broadband optical signal having several channels is amplified at a certain gain value while a change in power is detected at the input or output of the amplifier. A new pump power is calculated and adjusted based on a previously provided stable gain state of the optical amplifier after detecting the change in power such that deviations of the gain value remain minimal as planned temporary interface transients during a specific interval. The new pump power is thus calculated very accurately and quickly according to a model that takes into account the actual gain value, the wavelength dependence of active channels, aging effects, and non-linear amplification effects.
Abstract: A system and method of managing products includes a server which is networked with a plurality of terminals to provide users of the terminals with proper support. When a support event occurs at any terminal, the terminal requests the server, through a requesting section, for support via a network, along with an IP address. The server, which includes a database containing registration information such as IP addresses and purchase dates registered when the terminals are purchased, receives the request including the IP address via a receiver, and searches for relevant registration information contained in the database in accordance with the IP address to provide the requested support.
Abstract: A weaponry container that is operable to hold a weapon. The weaponry container includes a plurality of panels which include an outer surface that is substantially rigid or firm. The panels are operable to be placed in a closed position by an elongated fastener.
Abstract: The invention relates to a foldable frame (1) for oscillating saws or the like with an elongated support body (2), to which the oscillating saw is mountable, and to which, at each one of its two respective ends, are connected two legs (6,7), the latter being swivelable from a storage configuration in which they extend essentially parallel to the support body (2) to an operative configuration in which they extend essentially perpendicular from the support body (2). In order to improve the usefulness of the above-described foldable frame, it is proposed that the support body (2) be configured as two support body sections (3, 4), which are connected to one another by a hinge (5), which in the storage configuration lie parallel to each other, and which by swivelling movement through 180° can be brought into the operative configuration.
Abstract: A gaming device system in which a plurality of gaming devices are linked by a common bonus event is provided. In one embodiment, the linked gaming device system includes a shared symbol generation display that is positioned adjacent to each of a plurality of associated gaming devices and has a plurality of sections and values displayed at each section. Upon a triggering of the bonus event, any player eligible to participate in the bonus may achieve an outcome generated from the bonus event including the shared display. When the shared display is activated, it simultaneously generates a separate or individual outcome associated with each of the gaming devices. The outcomes are spatially related to one another so that a random generation of an outcome associated with one gaming device automatically generates random outcomes associated with each gaming device. Each gaming device however receives the outcome only if it has participated in the random generation.

Abstract: A method and system are provided for allocating satellite resources in a satellite communication system. A network interface is provided for making requests for satellite resources. A request processor determines whether the requests can be fulfilled based on a plurality of system constraints. The constraints can include, for example, the number of antennas on board the satellite, the number of active demodulators available on board the satellite, the configuration of a switch matrix which connects antennas to demodulators, and interference between signals transmitted to and from neighboring geographic cells. The network interface is preferably implemented in a web browser connected to a network which includes the Internet.
Abstract: A gaming device including a plurality of award values and a plurality of modifier values. A characteristic is associated with at least one award value position and at least one modifier value position. The gaming device provides an award to a player associated with at least one award value position and at least one modifier value position, wherein the award includes an additional award when the award value position and the modifier value position contain the same or related characteristics.

Abstract: In a battery pack including a battery case containing therein a battery cell, a wiring circuit board, and a liquid-absorbing element capable of absorbing the electrolyte leaking out from the battery cell, the liquid-absorbing element is inserted with looseness allowing for expansion in a gap formed by a retaining element on the inner wall surface of the battery case or retaining element on the wiring circuit board. Alternatively, a liquid-absorbing element consisting of a non-absorbent porous retaining element partially holding a liquid absorbent is used and the porous retaining element is fixed to the inner wall surface of the battery case or the wiring circuit board at an absorbent-free zone.

Abstract: The present invention relates to, inter alia, a method according to which an authorization datum is predefined for a program before transmission to an appliance of a user, the value of the datum indicating a right to establish a connection. A security program which is independent of the program cited authorizes the establishment of a connection via a data transmission network during the running of the program, according to the value of the authorization datum, or rejects the establishment of the connection.
Abstract: A spring clamp has a clamping mouth (1) with two clamping jaws (2) which can be spring-loaded toward one another by the force of a spring. The clamping jaws (2) are formed by arms (3) which are connected to one another in an articulated manner at one end. The other ends of the arms (3) which form actuating sections (4) can be moved toward one another in order to open the clamping mouth (1). The two abutting clamping jaws (2) together with the articulation pin (5) of the arms (3) define a reference plane (E). An angle bisector (G) between the two actuating sections (4) is inclined at approximately 90° to the reference plane (E). A hook may be provided at the actuating section (4).
Abstract: Sunglass holder with built-in clip for attachment and detachment can be used on industrial sites besides sports type of hat (cap) by being conjoined with the sunglass and goggle of military helmet. When fishing at the desert where wind of sand is rampant, river or ocean, it protects the eyes from the sand and ultraviolet rays from sunlight. Towards this end, it is possible to use by conjoining hat and sunglass lens, and the product is invented to apply in diverse areas such as sunvisor, cowboy hat beret, knit wool hat, hat and hair band for jogging etc.
Abstract: A gaming device includes a symbol generator which includes a plurality of sections. Each of the sections is associated with a symbol. Upon a triggering event, the gaming device determines which symbol to indicate. The gaming device rotates or moves the symbol generator and stops rotating the symbol generator to indicate a first point on the symbol generator. The first point is located between the section associated with the determined symbol and another section adjacent to this section. The gaming device indicates the adjacent section at least once and indicates the section associated with the determined symbol at least once. In one embodiment, the gaming device oscillates the symbol generator back and forth to indicate one section and then the other section to tease the player. The gaming device stops moving or rotating the symbol generator to indicate the section associated with the determined symbol. The gaming device provides an outcome to a player based on the determined symbol.
