Abstract: Disclosed is a process for preparing the known antitumor glycosides: 4'-epidaunorubicin, 3',4'-diepidaunorubicin, and their doxorubicin analogs by oxidizing the C-4' hydroxyl group of N-protected daunorubicin to form certain novel intermediates having a 4'-keto configuration, followed by reduction of the keto group with NaBH.sub.4 and mild alkaline hydrolysis to remove the N-protecting acyl groups.

Abstract: A support for boom end sheaves for lifting and/or handling machines, carrying at least a first sheave which receives a flexible rope, particularly a lifting cable, extending from the boom, is characterized in that it carries a pulley-block mounted on a lever which is swingingly carried by the support.
Abstract: An inkribbon feed mechanism is disclosed which feeds the inkribbon by utilizing power of a spacing motor by which a print head is transversed. The inkribbon feed mechanism comprises commanding means which detect a command element for reversing the inkribbon near one end of the inkribbon, an arm member which interlocks with the command means via a spring member and is pivotably supported by a pivot, a planetary gear member which is provided at one end of the arm member and is rotated by the power of the spacing motor via a drive gear member. In compliance with the alternate rotation of the spacing motor, the planetary gear member engages with a gear member of one reel or is slightly moved in orbit by the drive gear member so as not to render a rotational force to the reel. The arm member is pivoted by the command means to change the object which the planetary gear engages.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a construction of an industrial endoscope with a sensor which is used for measuring the position and the moving direction of a distal end of said endoscope. The construction comprises a measuring window at said distal end, light-transmitting optic bundles and light-receiving optic bundles, forward ends of said light-transmitting optic bundles and light-receiving optic bundles being opposed to said measuring window, a backward end of said light-transmitting optic bundles being connected with a light source and a backward end of said light-receiving optic bundles being connected with a detector means. By this construction, a reactor can be safely inspected from a distance, preventing damage to said distal end and elimination of potential radiation danger to the inspector.
Abstract: A multi-pin/coaxial assembly is disclosed in which an electrically conductive molded shell is employed which includes an integrally molded connector plate having apertures into which the outer conductors of the coaxial cables are inserted making electrical contact. Additionally, another aperture is provided integrally formed in the shell to which is attached a power ground lead thereby providing a common ground for both coaxial lines and power lead. Additionally, the assembly contains power leads which are insulated from the ground.
Abstract: The present invention discloses herewith guide tube with favorable flexibility and water-tightness. A water-tight coating is provided on at least one side of the inner and exterior surface of a porous tube which bends continuously keeping its tubular shape. By these provisions, a guide tube is obtained which is easily inserted with an endoscope into a body cavity or is smoothly inserted into bronchia as an anesthetic tube.
Abstract: A vial for storing soft contact lenses is disclosed in which the vial contains a cap having a concave seating surface connected in the cap. When the vial is stored upside down, the soft lens migrates to be seated in the seating surface in the cap, and when the soft lens is to be removed from the vial, the vial is merely turned rightside up, with the lens adhering to the seating means and being removed from the vial when the cap is removed from the vial.
Abstract: A guide tube assembly is disclosed which serves both as a guide tube for an endoscope and a suction tube for anesthesia. The guide tube assembly comprises a tube, said tube being made of a porous fluoric resin on which a fluorocarbon elastomer is coated for a sealing material, a mouthpiece which is a body of revolution, said mouthpiece comprising a connector portion for holding the tube, an extended portion which spreads from the connector portion and a mouthpiece portion. By these constructions, the assembly can be freely curved by the endoscope and effectively serves both as the guide tube for the endoscope and the anesthetic suction tube.
Abstract: An inkribbon cartridge for a printer is disclosed which compulsorily keeps a definite form by a cooperation with its box member and a lid member. The box member which comprises a plurality of concavities on the outside of a wall and a plurality of projections on the upper end of the wall near the concavities is engaged with the lid member which comprises a plurality of hooks which is inserted in the concavities to prevent outward deformation of the wall and a plurality of cuts which associate with the projections to prevent inward deformation of the wall.By these provisions, in- and outward deformations of the wall of the box member can be undertaken by the lid member and the inkribbon cartridge compulsorily keeps its definite form.
