  • Patent number: 7159736
Abstract: A device for preserving freshness of contents, such as but not limited to, coffee, paint, nuts, etc., of a container. The device includes a body and a handle. The body is free of venting bores, comes to rest on the contents of the container, and substantially engages the inner side surface of the container, to preserve the freshness of the contents of the container by blocking virtually all air in the container from contact with the contents of the container. The handle extends foldably from the body so as to self-fold onto the body and prevent interference of the handle with the lid of the container when the contents of the container are at such a level in the container that the handle would, in its normal upward position, be interfered with by the lid of the container.

  • Patent number: 6942355
Abstract: A lighting system has a base and at least one vertical support (trunk) that frictionally engages the base. The vertical support (trunk) has apertures around its circumference and its inner circumference is lined with longitudinal current carrying conductors. A low voltage transformer disposed within the base and electrically connected to a voltage supply contact in the base. The longitudinal current carrying conductors engage the voltage supply contact when the vertical support frictionally engages the base. Pairs of current carrying rods (branches) frictionally engage the vertical support (trunk) at the apertures and have voltage supply contacts that contact the longitudinal current carrying conductors. Ornaments having resilient clasps, with a pair of separately disposed electrical contacts on both sides of the clasp, frictionally engage the current carrying rods (branches) and electrically connect the current carrying rods to the electrical contacts and the ornament.

  • Patent number: 6837807
Abstract: A golf green repair tool that includes a housing, a blade, locking apparatus, and extending apparatus. The blade is operatively attached to the housing, and has a retracted/stored position where it is contained within the housing and an extended/operational position where it is extended from the housing. The locking apparatus maintains the blade in each of its retracted/stored position and its extended/operational position by being engaged with the blade and releases the blade from each of its retracted/stored position and its extended/operational position by being disengaged from the blade. The extending apparatus automatically moves the blade from its retracted/stored position to its extended/operational position when the locking apparatus is released.

  • Patent number: 6754995
Abstract: A panel for forming on-site a multi-function channel. The panel is a sheet of material that is rectangular-shaped, slightly compressible, thermally insulating, and has a pair of pre-printed channel flange fold lines that extend the entire length thereof and which form a pair of channel flanges when the sheet of material is folded perpendicularly upwardly thereon, and a trio of pre-printed soffit vent baffle panel fold lines that extend the entire width thereof and have a selected one thereof forming a soffit vent baffle panel when the sheet of material is folded perpendicularly downwardly thereon. When the pair of channel flanges are intimately abutted against a pair of parallel, adjacent, and spaced-apart framing members, the sheet of material compresses enough to provide an outward force sufficient to allow the multi-function channel to be self-restraining between, and by, the pair of parallel, adjacent, and spaced-apart framing members without a need for fasteners.

  • Patent number: 5042745
Abstract: A tilt ramp swept edge nozzle for vectoring exhaust gases from an engine mounted in an aircraft has a pair of flaps pivotally affixed to the aircraft in the area of the output end of the engine tailpipe. The flaps are in spaced relation to each other, aligned with the trailing edge of the airfoil of the aircraft and are movable to positions substantially parallel to each other and to positions substantially non-parallel to each other. An actuating system coupled to the flaps moves same relative to each other thereby to maintain a substantially constant effective throat area in the nozzle and providing an increasing nozzle aspect ratio and variable thrust direction during transition from forward to aft throat position of the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4906069
Abstract: The invention features an optical spread spectrum decoder wherein linear, non-linear, and discontinuous broadband RF signals can be optically decoded. The system introduces a weighting function into a local oscillator beam, which is then combined with a laser beam which has been modulated with the RF signal, processed to remove unwanted spectral components and then compressed. The combined beams are then down-converted to recover the RF signal.

  • Patent number: 4856079
Abstract: An electronic blanking system having a plurality of inputs from a number of radio frequency transmitters and a plurality of outputs for supplying blanking pulses to receivers which are in proximity to the transmitters includes input circuitry for processing input pulses from the inputs to produce processed input signals. Timers alter the timing of the processed input signals as required to produce the needed blanking pulses. Matrix means are provided for routing each blanking pulse to the outputs. A processor controls each matrix to determine the routing. Output drivers supply the blanking pulses, at predetermined voltage levels, to the outputs. The processor also controls the timers to determine the manner in which the timing is altered. The timers includes at least one of a delay for delaying the processed input signals, a stretching circuit for increasing the length of the processed input signals, and a truncator for truncating the length of the processed input signals.
