Abstract: A three dimensional laser tracking and control system is disclosed. The system includes a laser beacon generating a three dimensional rotating and scanning laser beam that covers a three-dimensional area. Each mobile unit has identification number (ID) and is equipped with a intelligent reflector (IR). Each mobile unit uses its intelligent reflector (IR) to communicate to the signal system its ID and the time of illumination by the laser beam. The signal system calculates the three dimensional coordinates for each mobile unit and communicates the positional data back to each mobile unit using the same laser beam during the subsequent rotation cycles.
Abstract: Methods of fabrication of a lateral RF MOS device having a non-diffusion connection between source and substrate are disclosed. In one embodiment, the lateral RF MOS device has an interdigitated silicided gate structure. In another embodiment, the lateral RF MOS device has a quasi-mesh silicided gate structure. Both sides of each gate are oxidized thus preventing possible shorts between source and gate regions and between drain and gate regions. The top of each gate is silicided once the protective layer of silicon nitride is removed.
Abstract: The position, velocity, time (PVT) and attitude (ATT) measurement system including a Master GPS antenna and a plurality of Slave GPS antennas is disclosed. The system comprises a hardware PVT channel and a hardware ATT channel. After the Master GPS antenna is selected, the hardware PVT channel stays locked on the Master antenna during the measurement time thus optimizing the accuracy of the PVT data. The PVT channel performs the tracking of the visible GPS satellites and generates the tracking data and the PVT data. The ATT channel performs the attitude measurement using all Slave antennas and the PVT tracking data.
Abstract: The apparatus and the method for analyzing the code multipath satellite disturbance are disclosed. The apparatus includes the tracking channel and the analyzing circuit. The tracking channel can include the weighted or modified weighting functions to decrease the level of the multipath reference signal. The analyzing circuit can include a plurality of additional correlator circuits used to build the filter function that is utilized to analyze the incoming code multipath disturbance.
Abstract: A system for single frequency on-the-fly (OTF) real-time kinematic (RTK) centimeter level position determination using the satellite positioning system (SATPS) is disclosed. The system includes a storage buffer used for storing data. The stored data and the current data are used by an ambiguity search algorithm for the improved integer ambiguity resolution.
Abstract: The real time differential satellite navigational system integrated with the tilt measurement system is disclosed. The integrated positioning system allows one to perform the real time precise navigation of a mobile unit in a variable tilt environment. In another embodiment, the map generating system is disclosed. The map generating system utilizes the low cost post-processing differential GPS receiver. The map generating system allows one to record the map of an actual area covered by a mobile unit in a variable tilt environment.
Abstract: A semiconductor MOSFET device having a decreased length of the channel region is disclosed. In one embodiment of the device, each gate includes three gate subregions. An enhancement drift drain region underlies the first gate subregion, a channel region underlies the third gate subregion, and each enhancement drift drain region and each channel region are separated by an epitaxial region underlying the second gate subregion. The device of the present invention if used as an amplifier, has a more linear transfer characteristic, less cross talk and less channel interference than a conventional semiconductor MOSFET device having a conventional gate region without gate subregions.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method of purchasing or leasing the time dependent option of operation of an instrument are disclosed. An apparatus generates and uses a time dependent password configured to be matched with at least one time dependent parameter in order to activate the instrument. The apparatus includes a time-antispoof device in order to prevent spoofing the purchased time of operation of the instrument. The time-antispoof device includes a satellite navigation receiver in order to enforce the antispoof option.

Abstract: A lateral RF MOS device having a combined source connection structure is disclosed. The combined source connection structure utilizes a diffusion area and a conductive plug region. In one embodiment, the diffusion source area forms a contact region connecting the top surface of the semiconductor material to a highly conductive substrate of the lateral RF MOS transistor structure. In another embodiment, the diffusion source area is located completely within the epitaxial layer of the lateral RF MOS transistor structure. The conductive plug region makes a direct physical contact between a backside of the semiconductor material and the diffusion contact area.

Abstract: The apparatus and method for estimation and minimization of the carrier multipath response envelope are disclosed. The reduction of the carrier multipath error signal is achieved by using the weighted or modified tracking or estimation circuits. The Modify and Weight signals are generated by the generator of Modify or Weight signals at five different circuit levels.
Abstract: The method and the apparatus for the outputting in a uni-dimensional coordinate system the position coordinates and speed determined by the position and speed determining system (PSDS) are disclosed. The PSDS can include the SATPS receiver, the inertial positioning system, or the combination of both. The digital database of the geographic area is introduced by the user in the arbitrary coordinate system and is translated into the preferred coordinate system in order to define the uni-dimensional coordinate system. The large geographic area (LGA) and the small geographic area (SGA) embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract: The partial decoding algorithm for decoding the partially damaged differential satellite positioning system (SATPS) messages is disclosed. The algorithm is based on the modified parity test. The information included in the decoded messages can be used for the high level differential SATPS testing.
Abstract: The apparatus and method for minimization the residual multipath distortion signal present in the received spread spectrum signal are disclosed. In the preferred embodiment, the apparatus comprises a generator of non-uniform weighting function used for estimation and actual minimization of the residual multipath signal.
Abstract: The delayed correlation receiver for delay-processing the encrypted satellite signals is disclosed. A central station is designed to receive encoded satellite signals using a high gain antenna. The central station extracts the encrypted satellite information and transmits it to the delayed correlation receiver. The delayed correlation receiver receives the encrypted satellite information using the standard satellite antenna and performs the full correlation with the encrypted information received from the central station without requiring the secret encryption keys.
Abstract: The mobile unit equipped with the satellite positioning system augmented by the laser positioning system is disclosed. The usage of the satellite positioning system allows the user to determine the coordinate of the laser reflectors prior to the range measurements. The range measurements are performed by the navigational computer using the laser scanning and rotating beam to obtain the range data between the mobile unit and a plurality of laser reflectors, and using the satellite positioning system to obtain the range data between the mobile unit and a plurality of visible navigational satellites. The obtained range data and the laser reflector coordinate data allows the user to perform the navigation of the mobile unit.
Abstract: The apparatus and method for minimization the residual multipath pseudorange error signal present in the received composite spread spectrum signal are disclosed. In the preferred embodiment, the apparatus comprises at least two tracking channels. Each tracking channel includes a generator of a time-varying non-uniform weighting function. Each tracking channel processes an incoming composite signal and outputs a satellite signal and a multipath pseudorange error signal. The tracking channel output signals are scaled by the computer and combined to yield the output signal comprising a satellite signal and a minimized multipath pseudorange error signal in the area of small delays.
Abstract: The present invention discloses the apparatus and the methods for calibrating a Narrow Band receiver for the group delay code phase errors. The group delay code phase errors are caused by group delay variations in the satellite signals being transmitted by a Narrow Band satellite Transmitter. A Calibration generator circuit generates a calibration signal that is substantially similar to the satellite signal but is free from the group delay variations. The calibration signal is used by the Narrow Band satellite Receiver to measure and eliminate the code phase group delay errors.
