Abstract: A method for obtaining a vegetable protein fraction, in particular for producing vegetable ice cream, is described wherein vegetable parts are added to water or to an aqueous solvent in order to dissolve and/or disperse vegetable proteins from the vegetable parts, and wherein one or more vegetable protein fractions are separated from the aqueous mixture thus obtained by the separation. According to the method, one or more substances having lipophilic or amphiphilic boundary surfaces are added to the aqueous mixture in order to separate one or more vegetable protein fractions, to which dissolved and/or dispersed proteins having lipophilic or amphiphilic groups in the mixture attach. The substances including the attached proteins are separated from the mixture. A vegetable protein fraction having particularly good emulsifying characteristics is obtained by the method, the protein fraction being advantageous as an emulsifier in the production of vegetable ice cream.

Abstract: The invention relates to an improved sash window including a window frame (1) containing two sashes (2 and 3) which are disposed in the same first vertical plane in the closed window position. The lower sash (3) is connected to a counterweight mechanism (8) enabling same to move vertically in the window frame (1). The window also includes scissor mechanisms (9) which are guided between the jambs (4) of the window frame (1) in order to move the lower sash (3) horizontally forward from the first vertical plane in which the window is closed to a second vertical plane in which the window is open or vice versa. The lower sash is maintained in the open position by means of blocking elements (24, 25) and is moved vertically with the aid of the counterweight mechanism (8).

Abstract: The present invention associates on one and the same label a UHF antenna and an RFID integrated circuit with an EAS antenna operating in RF mode, thus avoiding the addition of a second label on a product to be protected and/or traced. An aspect of the invention consists in using a loop antenna to which an integrated circuit which can operate by capacitive induction with the UHF antenna will be connected. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing such a label, and to a method of using the label.
Abstract: An approach to extending the dynamic range of the detector of a mass spectrometer is described. In one embodiment, in the case of high intensity beams, means are provided to deflect the ion beam, after the collector slit (1), on to an attenuator (4), which may be a grid or an array of small holes, through which only a small fraction of the ion beam reaches the ion detector (6). Use of an array of holes ensures that the recorded signal is insensitive to the distribution of ions within the beam. The beam passes directly to a detector if the signal is of low intensity.
Abstract: A rotary cutter for a mower is described including at least one cord of a predetermined length extending from the cutting head driven for rotation, and at least one fastening element for fixing one end of the cord to the cutting head main body. The fastening element includes a pair of ratchets. Each ratchet pivots for turning on the main body and is constantly applied with a rotational force in a predetermined direction by a spring. The cord is clamped and fastened by the ratchets. An inner end portion of the cord inserted from the sidewall of the main body is fastened by the fastening element, and the cord is removed and replaced with a new cord when the cord is worn out. The fastening element including a pair of ratchets with each ratchet of the pair including at least two or more sheets of laminated ratchets.
Abstract: A container for food, such as used for the storage or packaging of tostadas, manufactured as a carton, which is formed with eight sections or sides that are joined by adhesive at an edge to fold the container is disclosed. The container also has edges placed on the top and bottom ends that, when interwoven towards the center of the container, permit the formation of a kind of bow with which the container is kept closed. In order to open the container, it is only necessary to pull outwards on opening projections which are part of the bow. Likewise, and as a consequence of the interweaving of the edges, an internal pulling acts as a muffling, thereby helping the food, e.g., tostadas, to be maintained in a good state, without being broken.
Abstract: Vertical axis turbine apparatus is described in which a rotating blade turbine member mounted on a fixed base includes one to fifty, preferably two or three, upwardly and outwardly inclined spars. On each spar is set at least one aerofoil or hydrofoil section blade. If there is more than one spar, the spars are preferably held to one another via a plurality of guy wires.
Abstract: A splicing device to join a first web material coming from a reel being fed (BA), to a second web material (NB), coming from a reel standing by (BB), comprising two heads (107A, 127A; 107B, 127B), each of which comprises: a roller (129A; 129B) associated with a clamping bar (143A, 145A; 143B, 145B) to hold an initial edge of the second web material (NB); a counter-pressure member (109A; 109B) cooperating with said roller (129A; 129B) to press said first and second web material (NA, NB) against each other; a cutting member (111A; 111B); a moving unit (113A; 113B), on which said counter-pressure member (109A; 109B) and said cutting member (111A; 111B) are carried. A first common control member (121) is provided to cause, by the movement it imparts to the moving unit of one or other head alternately: pinching of the first and second web material between the roller (129A; 129B) and the counter-pressure member (109A; 109B); cutting of the first web material; and release of the second web material.
Abstract: The rewinding machine includes a winding system and a feed path for a web material towards the winding system. Along the feed path is a channel for insertion of the cores and an interruption member which acts on the web material.

Abstract: A method is described for obtaining a coreless roll (R) of web material with a first portion of web material forming an inner nucleus (R1) of said roll and a second portion of web material (R2) wound around the outside of said nucleus. The two portions (R1, R2) can be separated from one another and, for said purpose, an interface or discontinuity is created in at least one turn of the web material forming the roll, between said inner nucleus and said second portion of web material, so as to facilitate the extraction of the inner nucleus from the outer portion of the roll.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining a lateral relative movement between a processing head and a workpiece during processing the workpiece as well as a device to carry it out. In the method a surface of the workpiece (12) is illuminated in the region of the processing head with an optical radiation (2). The optical radiation (3) reflected from the surface of the workpiece (12) in the region of the processing head is repeatedly detected in a locally resolved manner by an optical detector (9), which is firmly fixed mechanically to the processing head, to obtain optical reflection patterns. The repeated detection occurs in temporal intervals in which the temporally successive reflection patterns of overlapping surface regions of the workpiece (12) are obtained. The lateral relative movement is determined by comparing the temporally successive reflection patterns.

Abstract: A hair fastening and hair volume enhancing device is described which includes a thin flat strip, of bendable, lightweight flexible material having bristles on top and bottom sides thereof. A wire is positioned between sheaths of material forming the thin flat strip. The flat strip has a surface finish of a color and shine similar to a wearer's hair color and shine so that the device is imperceptible when worn by the wearer. A hair fastening and hair volume enhancing method using the device involves placing the hair device in hair, moving and/or bending the hair device in any direction, and attaching the hair to the device by means of the bristles on the surfaces of the hair device such that the hair device holds hair in place while also providing hair enhancement by holding the hair in a suspended position away from the scalp, thereby enhancing hair volume appearance while also holding hair in place.
Abstract: Procedures and means for evaluating effectiveness of bacterial-lethality, following batch-processed containerized food production operations and aseptic-flow food-production operations as containerized in aseptic-containers, in preparing for non-refrigerated marketing are described. The evaluations significantly expedite determining whether thermally-processed containerized food-production is safe for non-refrigerated marketing. The presence or absence of live spore-forming bacteria is determined chemically free of extended storage requirements relying on a mechanical-failure indication of food-spoilage. Also, a biological-indication verification of microbial-biocidal status of the packaged food is made available.
Abstract: A new and distinct variety of Azalea plant named ‘Robles’, characterized by its unique blooming time, dense and globose growth habit, and single, large, attractive purple flowers is disclosed.
