Abstract: The invention relates to an automotive cargo carrier utilizing interlocking vertically offset tubular perimeter members and multiple intersecting tension members providing for a substantially rigid, yet resilient structure, and a system for cargo carriage utilizing various interchangeable elements. The load support member was designed for use in conjunction with tubing members and has a universality of application in supporting the tubing members for load carrying purposes and can itself be so positioned when multiple units are positioned upon the tubing members so as to itself contribute to load carrying and retention.
Abstract: The invention relates to a ventilated shoe device utilizing air passageways and spring loaded valves to promote positive airflow resulting from compression of the sole elements, thereby providing increased hygiene and comfort, and further providing case of cleaning of the shoes through access covers.
Abstract: The present invention provides a rotary feeder system having a rotor housing with an intake opening and means for discharging material spaced apart side walls. A rotor is positioned with its radially extending blades disposed within the rotor housing and its two ends of its shaft each extending through an aperture in one of the side walls. The shaft bearing and interconnection to the rotating means are each disposed outwards of the rotor housing and the apertures are sealed about the rotor shaft by a sealing assembly comprising a washer, a seal having a first and second ring wherein the second ring extends inward beyond the inner circumference of the first, said ring merging into a flange pressing upon said washer, and a retaining plate which bears against the second ring, tightening it against the washer. The washer and second ring of the seal are preferably formed of tetrafluoro-ethylene resin, and all joints between components within the rotor housing are welded to fill any crevices.
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner and refuse and debris collection and disposal device and system utilizing a vacuum cleaning unit, with intake for both wet and dry materials, utilizing a motor-driven blower to create a vacuum in a sealed vacuum chamber and a separate internal debris collection container which is removable without disturbing the sealing properties of the vacuum chamber. The container is alternatively emptyable or disposable, thereby providing minimal interruption in the operation of the vacuum cleaner unit, no relocation of the unit when dumping is necessary and the use of replaceable, or disposable internal collection containers subject to wear and tear without disturbing the sealing properties of the vacuum chamber.

Abstract: This invention relates to a socket wrench drive extension incorporating a quick release and locking feature. The extension is used in conjunction with a ratchet drive and standard mechanic's sockets for driving threaded fasteners. The invention utilizes a longitudinal control bar which bears directly or indirectly on a detent contained in a transverse bore at the driving end of the extension. The longitudinal control bar fits a channel machined into the exterior surface of the extension and is operated through the retraction of a spring loaded collar.
Abstract: This invention provides for a system for the year-round aeration of lagoons, ponds, small lakes and the like, providing greatly improved circulation and saturation of effluent with dissolved oxygen, further providing advantages of portability and remote location of inlet, discharge and pump; and utilizing a device incorporating internal baffles within an adjustably inclined chute incorporating covers and discharge extension and movable mounted upon a suitable vehicle.
Abstract: A sculptured lamp base suitable for electric lamps is provided by utilizing a tightly-wound spiral of corrugated cardboard strip which is distended along a dimension parallel to its axis through forming upon a mold. The resulting sculptured lamp bases are capable of an infinite variety of shapes. Various components may be formed through utilization of this method and joined to form additional compound and return curves.
Abstract: An improvement in a water-filling system for batteries, which protects battery cells from damage caused by hydrogen explosions occurring at other cells, is a check or stop valve, placed in the fluid communication lines between two cells, which allows passage of water, but blocks passage of an explosive shock wave.
Abstract: In a tunneling machine including a hollow shield, a non-rotatable outer housing mounted in the shield for longitudinal movement, and inner housing rotatably mounted within the outer housing, an excavator including a boom and bucket pivotally mounted on the forward end of the inner housing, and a boom cylinder having a forward portion pivotally engaged with the boom and a rear portion mounted at the rearward portion of the inner housing.
Abstract: An aqueous adhesive composition containing a graft copolymerized product of low amylose starch and acrylamide with rheological and remoistening adhesive properties suitable for coating low basis weight kraft paper on transfer roll coating equipment to make remoistenable sealing tapes. The desired properties of the adhesive composition are obtained by a controlled graft copolymerization together with a simultaneous gelatinization of the starch at temperatures below 210.degree. F. and with the essential addition of cupric or ferric ions before initiating the reaction. The resulting coatable adhesive has a comparatively low viscosity as required for transfer roll coating while retaining the improved adhesion properties of the acrylamide.
