  • Patent number: 8097633
Abstract: A method for treating the adverse effects of acetyl-cholinesterase inhibitors used in the treatment of cognitive disorders such as acute delirium and cognitive impairment in elderly human patients. The administration of a clinically effective amount of a quaternary ammonium anti-cholinergic muscarinic receptor antagonist having very low lipid solubility substantially eliminates the adverse effects of urinary and/or fecal incontinence, nausea, bradycardia, bronchorrhea or brochospasm caused by the acetyl-cholinesterase inhibitors, without affecting the beneficial activity of the acetyl-cholinesterase inhibitors. This permits the administration of the optimum effective dosing of acetyl-cholinesterase inhibitors to provide maximum benefit to the patient with the added benefit of reducing or eliminating the unwanted side effects of fecal and urinary incontinence.

  • Patent number: 8089434
Abstract: A sheet in an electronic display is composed of a substrate containing an array of wire electrodes. The wire electrodes are preferably electrically connected to patterned transparent conductive electrode lines. The wire electrodes are used to carry the bulk of the current. The wire electrodes are capable of being extended away from the substrate and connected directly to the printed circuit board. The transparent conductive electrode (TCE) is used to spread the charge or voltage from the wire electrode across the pixel. It is a patterned film and must be at least 50% transparent, and, for most applications, is preferably over 90% transparent. In most display applications, the electroded surface of the electroded sheet has to be flattened. Use of a thin polymer substrate yields a light, flexible, rugged sheet that may be curved, bent or rolled.

  • Patent number: 8086621
Abstract: A method and modified client that disguises user search terms by adding a plurality of faux search phrases using a phrase-reuse-table comprising resulting faux search phrases and real search phrases the faux search phrases were derived from, a word-reuse-table comprising word substitutions used for words that reveal patterns, and a word-table comprising words that reveal patterns sorted into groups. Faux search phrases are added by looking up the search phrases in the phrase-reuse-table, and looking up the search terms in the word-reuse-table and word-table, suggesting by a predictive search for specific anchor words, recording substitutions for words which reveal patterns in the word-reuse-table, and submitting the search terms and the set of faux search phrases to a search engine. Additionally, additional complexity may be used to generate additional faux search phrases.

  • Patent number: 8052559
Abstract: A tensioner for a power transmission system includes two tensioning arms operatively engaged with the strand of the chain or the belt of the power transmission system. The upper end of each tensioning arm is connected to a two way damper which is pivotally mounted between the upper ends of the tensioning arms. When a pre-determined chain tension overload threshold is reached, the amount of torque required to overcome the coefficient of friction the damper allows the tensioner to adjust the tension in the chain with minimal oscillations and minimal phase change variation.
