  • Patent number: 6958015
Abstract: This specification discloses trays for use with a gaming machine. At least a first tray is mountable in adjacent intermediate the gaming interface side of a gaming machine and a game player so that the user may readily rest or access a drink and food located on the tray. A second tray may also be mountable on the first tray in order to expand or alter the tray support configuration provided the two trays together. The tray(s) may be removably mounted to the front of the gaming machine, or they may be rotatably or moveably mounted on the side of the gaming machine. The trays are preferably made of economical, molded, lightweight, resilient, and machine-washable materials, such as polystyrene or other plastic. The trays may also be made of other materials, which when used in conjunction with covers, can help maintain the temperature of food at other than room temperature.

  • Patent number: 6842442
Abstract: A DS-CDMA transmission method capable of improving the accuracy of channel estimation using pilot symbols by eliminating cross-correlation between pilot symbols inserted into code channels in CDMA multiplexing carrying out fast signal transmission. In each frame assembler, the pilot symbols, which are used for channel estimation for coherent detection, are inserted into coded information data on code channels at fixed intervals, and then the data is modulated by the modulator. The modulated data symbols in each code channel from the modulator are spread by the spreading modulator, the pilot symbols are spread using a spreading code, whereas the information symbols are spread using different spreading codes assigned to respective code channels. The spread signals of the code channels are summed up by the adder to be transmitted.

  • Patent number: 6445777
Abstract: A telecomputer network is described. The network comprises a satellite communication system, at least one mobile vehicle, and a wireless local area network (LAN). In one embodiment, the satellite communication system transfers information using ethernet packet switching. In one embodiment, the wireless LAN transfers information using the TCP/IP protocol. The mobile vehicle or portable field unit is configured to transfer information as a single nomadic transmission/reception point between the satellite communication system and the wireless LAN.

  • Patent number: 6289261
Abstract: In a system and method for a payout in the form of paper tokens from a gaming machine, the system includes a hopper for dispensing the paper tokens, a cassette for containing the paper tokens, and software for controlling the operations of the payout of the paper tokens from the gaming machine. The cassette and hopper are located in the gaming machine in plain view of a player, and are locked for security purposes. Each paper token is transported through a payout path by mechanisms in the cassette and the hopper which interact to dispense a paper token. A plurality of sensors sense the transport of the paper token through the payout path, the operation of the transport mechanism, and the status of the paper token supply. An escrow area is provided in the cassette for rejected paper tokens, as sensed by sensors and diverted by a diverting mechanism into the escrow area. A memory element in the cassette stores operational information regarding dispensing of the paper tokens.
