Patent number: 4776423Abstract: A motorcycle frame design featuring a uniplanar isolation system. This is a system for vehicles which have motors that have basically uniplanar vibrations. It provides mounting means which allow the motor to have vertical and longitudinal movement, but prevent lateral motion of the motor and rear suspension unit with respect to the main frame.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 1987Date of Patent: October 11, 1988Inventor: Erik F. Buell

Patent number: 4750703Abstract: A form assembly for cement or the like comprising interlocking form members. One form member is longitudinally straight and can be provided with horizontal stiffening ribs at its upper and lower edges. The other form member has upper and lower ledges at least one end and is resiliently flexible to permit bending into a longitudinally curved configuration. The ends of the form members are each cut away into complementary shapes to form an interlocking joint. The upper and lower horizontal ribs are provided with a first set of vertically aligned openings in the vicinity of the cut away joint and the upper and lower ledges are provided with a second set of vertically aligned openings in the vicinity of the cut away joint. The ribs and the ledges overlap each other so that the first and second set of aligned openings are in vertical alignment with each other when the cut away joints are interlocked, allowing a pin to be received by the aligned openings to fix the assembly into the ground.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1987Date of Patent: June 14, 1988Inventors: John Gentilcore, Sandra Macpherson, Joseph A. Patent number: 4741693Abstract: Bulk materials containing volatile constituents are calcined in a two-stage process comprising a first heating stage at de-volatilizing temperature but below calcining temperature during which the material is turned over and mixed to accelerate its bulk heating rate without substantially accelerating local heating rate. The first heating stage is followed by a second heating stage at calcining temperature. A rotary hearth furnace adapted for the above process is divided into outer and inner connecting annular heating zones and has rabble means for turning over and mixing the charge in the outer zone and rabble means for transporting the charge through both zones.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 1987Date of Patent: May 3, 1988Assignee: Salem Furnace Co.Inventors: William E. Patent number: 4741289Abstract: A portable dog shower apparatus is disclosed. Independent side spray grid members are removably attached to opposite sides of a shallow fiberglass base. An additional top spray grid is removably connected on top of the side grids and plural spaced-apart spray tubes within each grid provide a large spray area for washing and rinsing a dog or other domestic animal. Each of the side and top spray grids are formed from PVC piping thereby making the entire apparatus lightweight and easily transportable. Each spray grid provides a complete spray coverage of a large area and because separate spray grids are provided both above and on each side of the animal, the showering process is simplified and shortened.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1986Date of Patent: May 3, 1988Inventor: Terry M. Patent number: 4738128Abstract: In a skew-rolling stand for rolling hollow billets, in particular for stretching hollow billets into tubular blooms, work material guides are provided at the entry end and/or at the delivery end. These work material guides comprise a preferably motor-driven guide tube (19) which can be rotated about its longitudinal axis, which considerably improves guiding and offers additional protection against heat losses and scaling of the work material. The guide tube does away with the need for a re-heating furnace and allows immediate subsequent finish-rolling.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 1986Date of Patent: April 19, 1988Assignee: Kocks Technik GmbH & Co.Inventor: Karlhans Staat

Patent number: 4734027Abstract: An improved mold for injection molding suction cups is disclosed. Conventionally, plastic is injected through a runner into a mold cavity defined by at least two mold sections having mating faces which can be moved apart to open the mold cavity and the cavity is shaped to define a suction cup having a head and a cup shaped body which body has an outer circumferential edge between its top surface and its bottom surface. The improved mold creates a wedge-shaped tab during molding of the suction cup. The thin part of the tab is adjacent to the outer circumference of the suction cup, One fills the mold cavity by injecting plastic through a gate which is adjacent to the thick part of the tab, said gate having an opening not larger than one half the thickness of the tab, said opening positioned so as not to intersect a face of the mold section.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 1987Date of Patent: March 29, 1988Assignee: Adams Mfg.Inventor: William E. Patent number: 4727873Abstract: The device comprises a plurality of elongated filamentary loops extending outwardly from a central column in one or more tiers, the filaments having hooks backed by offset barriers at their free ends. The column is preferably hollow. The device is inserted into a passageway such as a vein with the loops held back toward the column and biased to open when released, and hook into the vein wall to form a network or web to engage and hold blood clots in the vein. The device anchors itself in place without injury to the wall of the passageway. It is self-centering and self-cleaning. Preferably the device is inserted over a wire guide threaded through the column and introduced into the vein through a hollow needle puncture.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1986Date of Patent: March 1, 1988Inventor: Kazi Mobin-Uddin

Patent number: 4727998Abstract: A tamper evident mechanism for a bottle and closure assembly. The bottle and closure each have engaging means adapted for engagement with each other upon clockwise rotation of the closure means and for becoming interlocked against counterclockwise rotation to prevent removal of the closure. A tear tab and associated frangible strips are provided on the skirt of the closure. The tear tab is disposed within an indentation on the outer surface of the closure. Pulling off the tear tab along the frangible strips accomplishes removal of the interlocked engaging means, freeing the closure for counterclockwise rotation and removal. At the same time a gaping hole is imparted to the skirt of the cap providing visual evidence of tampering.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1987Date of Patent: March 1, 1988Inventor: B. Kenneth Simon

Patent number: 4722800Abstract: Oil-water separation apparatus and method employing a velocity head diffusion baffle facing upwardly and towards the feed end of a separator tank to which feed flow is directed. The separator tank comprises a relatively turbulent inlet section and a relatively large separator section and the baffle tends to isolate inlet turbulence from the separator section. Furthermore, the baffle tends to reduce flow turbulence in the separator section and to distribute flow of the inlet stream over the entire width of the tank. The baffle tends to improve the separation of solids and any immiscible liquids which are susceptible to gravity separation.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1986Date of Patent: February 2, 1988Assignee: Highland Tank and Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Gregory G.
