  • Patent number: 6094107
Abstract: A termination for a coaxial transmission line wherein an elongated central conductor is located in an enclosure or housing and is surrounded by a plurality of elongated resistor tubes. The central conductor is connected to the inner conductor of the transmission line and the resistor elements are connected to the outer conductor. The housing defines an inner flow chamber and a plurality of outer flow passages surrounding the inner flow chamber with the upper ends thereof communicating with the upper end of the inner flow chamber. A centrifugal blower is located at the bottom of each of the outer flow passages to generate an air flow upwardly and then through lateral ports into the upper end of the inner flow chamber, whereupon a flow proceeds downwardly in a turbulent vortex through the inner flow chamber to cool the resistor elements.

  • Patent number: 5761955
Abstract: An externally mounted transducer assembly for an ultrasonic liquid level measuring device that utilizes a piezoelectric crystal for generating ultrasonic pulses to be transmitted through a tank or the line containing a volume of liquid. Electrical conductors are formed integrally with the fuel tank for connecting the transducer to other components of the system. The wall of the tank is provided with an arrangement for removably attaching the transducer housing thereto. The tank is provided with electrical contacts that connect to the conductors that are integral with the tank. Also, electrical contacts in the transducer housing are connected to the transducer for providing current thereto. When the transducer housing is attached to the tank, the transducer is thereby connected to the measuring system circuit.

  • Patent number: 5504382
Abstract: An alternator, or the like including a stator assembly and a rotor assembly within the stator assembly, wherein the stator assembly includes a pair of axially spaced core sections with a stationary field coil located therebetween. The field coil is formed of convolutions extending circumferentially about the axis of the device. The rotor assembly has a homopolar core with a pair of axially spaced pole sections in locations corresponding to the respective stator core sections. A central yoke portion extends between the two pole sections and is axially aligned within the field coil. A plurality of permanent magnets are mounted circumferentially on each of the pole sections at symmetrically spaced locations between pole sectors of the respective section.

  • Patent number: 5456108
Abstract: A baffle assembly for use in an ultrasonic system for measuring the level of a contained volume of liquid by calculating the density of the liquid by determining the dielectric constant thereof. The baffle assembly is located at the lower end of a stillwell located within the volume of liquid, The assembly includes a pair of concentric sleeves formed of electrically conductive material located to surround the lower end portion of the stillwell. The sleeves are uniformly radially spaced from one another so as to function as a capacitor so that the electrical capacitance between the respective opposed surfaces of the sleeves may be determined.

  • Patent number: 5410518
Abstract: A transducer assembly for an ultrasonic liquid level measuring device utilizing a piezoelectric crystal for generating ultrasonic pulses to be transmitted through a volume of liquid. The assembly includes an enclosure for the piezoelectric crystal assembly, that defines an interior space and a sealed opening for a cable. The enclosure is provided with a metallic layer that shields the entire interior space from electromagnetic interference. The assembly also includes a crystal housing assembly and a terminal block all located within the sealed enclosure.
