    Abstract: A bioreactor apparatus and cell culturing system is provided for the automated cultivation and processing of living cells remotely both on earth and in low gravity which utilizes a generally cylindrical reactor vessel that may be optionally rotated about its cylindrical axis while allowing the entrance of fresh or recycled fluid and the removal, optionally, of spent medium, medium to be recycled or filtered or unfiltered medium for the collection of samples. A method of exchanging gases between the culture medium and ambient gases is provided. A fresh-medium storage bag and peristaltic pump is used for batch feeding, perfusion or sample collection. An enclosure and manifold representing an additional level of chemical containment and a series of pinch valves for the periodic collection of samples of suspended cells or cell-free medium is disposed therein together with a humidity control system.

    Abstract: A machine that quickly lays a cover over a freshly seeded area and at the same time anchors the cover to the ground. The cover helps prevent moisture from escaping from the ground and holds the seeds in place during watering the area, during heavy rains and/or during wind storms. The ground cover is a blanket in the form of a ribbon of considerable length that is rolled onto a spindle and may consist of straw or the like or the equivalent thereof retained between a pair of porous sheet, mesh or netting members or suitably attached or adhering to single sheet of the same and which preferably is biodegradable. The ribbon is payed out from the spindle as the machine traverses the area to be covered. Apparatus on the machine anchors the laid in place ribbon to the ground as it is placed on the ground by driving pins through the ribbon into the ground and/or by forming and pressing a ā€œVā€ shape formation in the ribbon an adjustably variable selected depth into the ground.

    Abstract: The bulk synthesis of highly crystalline noncatalytic low melting metals such as ?-gallium oxide tubes, nanowires, and nanopaintbrushes is accomplished using molten gallium and microwave plasma containing a mixture of monoatomic oxygen and hydrogen. Gallium oxide nanowires were 20ā€“100 nm thick and tens to hundreds of microns long. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) revealed the nanowires to be highly crystalline and devoid of any structural defects. Results showed that multiple nucleation and growth of gallium oxide nanostructures can occur directly out of molten gallium exposed to appropriate composition of hydrogen and oxygen in the gas phase. These gallium oxide nanostructures are of particular interest for opto-electronic devices and catalytic applications.

    Abstract: A lumber unscrambler and conveyor having first and second rigid units mounted at an incline on a support structure. Each unit has a plurality of spaced apart parallel plates in series along the incline and parallel thereto. The plates on the respective first and second units are interleaved in alternate relation. The plates have an upper article supporting surface and a leading edge generally transverse to the incline. The leading edge of plates proximate the in-feed end are of greater depth than those further along the path toward the out-feed end. The units are supported on the support structure to move relative thereto and one another. The units are driven in synchronized out of phase relation reciprocating along the inclined path. A hopper at the in-feed end receives and holds a supply of lumber pieces of selected dimension and as the plates reciprocate they move pieces of the lumber from the hopper to the out-feed end discharging normally only a single stick one after another.

    Abstract: A flightless rock auger is used for drilling postholes through rock with the use of hydraulic pressure and at slow revolution per minute. The rock auger is used in combination with a conventional flighted auger used for drilling postholes in dirt and clay. During a posthole drilling operation, the rock auger is substituted for a conventional flighted auger as needed for drilling through and removing rock or other hard material such as concrete from the posthole. The rock auger is designed for use at very low revolutions per minute and can function utilizing only the weight of the auger; however, the rock auger is designed for use with pressure drilling units as well for cutting a circular hole through the rock and forming a plug which is to be lodged in the cavity of the rock auger cylinder to be removed from the posthole.

    Abstract: An aqueous wheel cleaning solution for removing the dirt form the surface of aluminum, chrome, stainless steel, painted steel, painted aluminum, clear coated aluminum, rubber, and plastic wheels and tires without scrubbing by applying the cleaning solution to the wheel and/or tire then rinsing the wheel and/or tire with water. Selected polymers include a polyvinylpyrrolidone, a poly(N-vinylimidazole, a poly(4-vinylpyridine-betaine), and/or a poly(4-vinylpyridine-N-oxide) each one of which can be used with conventional wheel cleaning components such as an acid or alkaline-based cleaning formulation to dramatically improve its wheel cleaning power. These polymers can attach to organic and inorganic dirt particles forming a complex with them for easy removal from the wheel and/or tire during rinsing, leaving the wheel and/or tire clean without scrubbing the wheel or tire surface.

    Abstract: A microwave cooking device includes a container for holding a food product, a seal for sealing the container to enclose a substantially fixed volume therein, and a venting configuration. The venting configuration includes a steam guide defining a central vent and a pair of steam horns associated with and positioned on either side of the steam guide. The steam guide and associated steam horns weaken a portion of the seal at a predetermined location and are each in fluid communication with the volume enclosed within the container to allow movement of steam from the container into the steam guide and steam horns, such that, steam and pressure are preferentially directed towards the steam guide, causing pressure to be concentrated at the weakened portion of the seal and resulting in the seal being broken at a predetermined location.

The sockets receive and cooperatively engage respective pins on the implement providing a quick connection. An electrically powered hydraulic cylinder is connected at one end to the frame and the other end connects to the vehicle by a coupler that slip fits into a socket therefore on the vehicle. The frame pivotally connects to the vehicle at two spaced apart positions. There is a coarse and fine adjustment for varying the height and tilt positions of the implement.

    Abstract: An adapter that converts a tractor hitch coupling from a ball and pin type to a hook type. The adapter is a tubular member having an opening at one end into which an end of the hitch arm is inserted and a hook extends therefrom at the opposite end. A locking dog is movably mounted on the tubular member for selectively blocking the entry or throat of the hook and a spring biases the locking dog to it's locking state. Each of a pair of spaced apart side walls have at least one set screw threaded there through. The set screws engage opposite side faces of the lift arm on which the adapter is mounted permitting variously adjusting alignment of the adapter relative to the hitch lift arm on which it is mounted.

The smaller one of the contiguous portions is adapted to project into a socket in the handle for the tilt mechanism, and has means thereon cooperating with means in the socket of the handle for preventing relative movement of the handle and coupling member when the handle is moved in a direction to rotate the lock release actuating shaft.
