  • Patent number: 8284304
Abstract: Even when a remaining amount of an image memory built in a digital camera is decreased, the photographing can be further continued while reserving a photographed image. An image which is obtained from an image input unit including image pickup means is accumulated into an image memory. When a remaining amount calculating unit detects that the remaining amount of the imag memory is small, an image record discriminating unit compares it with an image size in a photograph mode at that time which is obtained from an image size table, thereby discriminating whether the continuation of the photographing can be performed or not. When the photographing is impossible, an image selecting unit selects an old image, an image in which the number of colors is small, or the like on the basis of management data regarding the photographed images in a memory managing table. The selected image is transmitted by a PHS communication by a data transmitting apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8285644
Abstract: An image processing apparatus which is capable of easily determining, when a user causes the apparatus to scan a sheet original to carry out predetermined processing, whether or not the sheet original has been modified or edited from a document file as the source of the sheet original. A scanner section not only reads an original and generates original image data, but also recognizes information embedded in the original. Rights information concerning the original is acquired based on the information embedded in the original. A controller unit determines whether or not the original has been edited, and performs control based on contents of the rights information and a result of the determination, such that execution of processing, which is designated by a user, on the original image data is permitted or restricted.

  • Patent number: 8279504
Abstract: Pieces of reading frequency information representing the use frequencies of first and second reading units are acquired. Read color information of a color on a document that is read by the first or second reading unit is acquired. Based on the acquired pieces of reading frequency information and the acquired read color information, one of the first and second reading units is decided as a reference reading unit serving as a reference when performing correction to make the reading characteristics of the first and second reading units relatively coincide with each other.

  • Patent number: 8280154
Abstract: Color processing is executed in consideration of a change in size of a region of interest in a moving image. To this end, a region of interest is set in each frame image of a moving image and an occupied area ratio indicating an amount that the region of interest occupies with respect to the entire frame image is calculated for each of the frame images set with the regions of interest. A temporal increase or decrease of the occupied area ratio is determined based on the occupied area ratios of a plurality of frame images set with the regions of interest, and a color processing method is set for each frame image based on the occupied area ratio and the temporal increase or decrease determination result. Color processing is applied to each frame image by the color processing method set for that frame image.

  • Patent number: 8274598
Abstract: In an image capturing apparatus that is capable of selecting a display mode for live view display from multiple display modes, the difference between a measured subject brightness and an image brightness obtained from an exposure condition for acquiring live view images is obtained. Then, exposure conditions for acquiring the live view images are changed depending on a threshold corresponding to the selected display mode and on the value of the obtained difference. The image capturing apparatus allows for control of the exposure conditions for acquiring the live view images in accordance with the selected live view display mode.

  • Patent number: 8269996
Abstract: An image forming apparatus switches a line of image data, to be read out from a storage unit, to another, depending on a position in the line in a scanning direction such that the curving of a scanning line is offset, and reducing trouble in reading out image data in units of rectangular image data blocks A data processing section performs image processing based on a plurality of rectangular image areas generated by dividing image data stored in a memory section. An image reading unit reads out the image data as the rectangular image areas, and transfers the rectangular image areas to the data processing section. A printer section forms an image by scanning a photosensitive member with irradiation light based on the rectangular image data areas. A DMA controller stores positional information indicative of line-switching positions. The rectangular image data areas are read out according to the positional information.
