  • Patent number: 4562106
Abstract: A substrate, such as a film of thermally grown silicon dioxide on a silicon wafer is coated with a thin film of polycrystalline or amorphous silicon in the thickness range 0.05-10.mu. deposited by chemical vapor deposition. An encapsulation layer that is a composite of 2 .mu.m thickness SiO.sub.2, 30 nm of Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 is deposited on the thin film. A pattern of stripes is created on this encapsulation layer made of materials, such as titanium, silicon, silicon dioxide and photoresist. A long and narrow molten zone is created in the film with its long axis oriented perpendicular to the lines and is moved with a movable strip-heater over in a direction parallel to the lines in the recrystallization process to establish dislocation and crystalline defects in the film entrained to follow the pattern of the stripes at locations related to the stripes.

  • Patent number: 4541040
Abstract: Power conversion system includes power amplifiers that receive D.C. potentials from rectifying and filtering circuitry that direct couple the power amplifiers to the conventional A.C. power lines. An output transformer couples the power amplified signal to an output terminal. A feedback network couples the output terminal to one input of a signal combiner that has a reference input terminal for receiving a reference signal. An isolation amplifier couples the output of the signal combiner to the input of the power amplifiers. The isolation amplifier has a combining network that receives on one input a signal from the input terminal coupled through a high pass filter cascaded with a transformer coupled amplifying stage and on the other input from the input terminal through an optocoupler amplifying stage cascaded with a low pass filter. The power amplifiers comprise like class B amplifiers having substantially the same gain driving the primary of the output transformer.

  • Patent number: 4531821
Abstract: A transport mechanism has two driven gears driven by a driving gear therebetween and having pivotally attached cranks at pivot points maintained at the same elevation as the driven gears rotate. The upper end of the cranks are attached to a horizontal moving guide bar. The moving mechanism is supported beside a fixed guide plate formed with a loading slot at the input end, a sloping edge at the output end and a number of equally spaced vertical slots therebetween. A film carrier has end rods which may rest on the moving guide bars and be lowered in the slots. Film chips in the film carrier advance from the loading slot into a developing tank. The mechanism then lifts the carrier with the film chips above the carrier tank and into a wash tank, then from the wash tank into a fixing tank, then from the fixing tank into a wash tank, then into a drying chamber and then upon an output ramp.

  • Patent number: 4520963
Abstract: A process for cutting of material includes the continuous loading therefrom into a generally cylindrically or conically shaped vessel, which is rotating around its longitudinal axis, in which is mounted a fast rotating knife shaft, its knives which are provided with one or several cutting edges reach near to the inside wall of the vessel. The material to be cut, loaded into the vessel in axial direction, deposits a layer on the inside wall of the vessel in consequence of the centrifugal force, which is treated by the knives and is displaced in axial direction to the discharging end of the vessel where the cut material is continuously taken away. The equipment includes a material feeding device, a drive for the vessel and the knife shaft, each with different speed, as well as a discharging device for the cut material. The axis of the rotating vessel as well as of the knife shaft can be vertically or horizontally arranged.

  • Patent number: 4510805
Abstract: A pin is formed with an axial bore at the bottom end for receiving compressed air and containing a diffuser. This bored end has a portion of progressively increasing cross section toward the end. A pair of axially spaced diametrical openings in space quadrature intersect the axial bore. A bumper with a resilient face may be urged toward the pin when an air switch is open. A source of compressed air is coupled to the pneumatic cylinder through an air switch and to sample and reference conduits through a pressure regulator. There are needle valves between the pressure regulator and the sample and reference conduits, respectively. A meter measures the differential air pressure between the sample and reference conduits.
