These polyimides can be fabricated into films, coatings, laminates and the like. The polyimides are also fusible and moldings thus obtained are low in void content.
Abstract: The new N-[3-(3-hydroxyaryl)-2-hydroxypropyl]-imides may be prepared by reacting 3-(3-hydroxyaryl)-propenoxides with cyclic imides. These hydroxy compounds as well as their esters with carboxylic acids are highly effective in the stabilisation of polymers, preferably of polyolefins, against thermal-oxydative attack. The compounds themselves exhibit a good stability against discoloration by radiation or gas fading.
Abstract: New benzylated phosphoric acid hydrazides are stabilisers for organic material. They are manufactured from corresponding benzyl hydrazides and phosphoric acid monochlorides or thiophosphoric acid monochlorides.
Abstract: Compounds of the formula ##SPC1##In which R.sub.1 denotes hydrogen, alkyl with 1-8 carbon atoms, alkenyl with 3 or 4 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl with 5-8 carbon atoms, aralkyl with 7-9 carbon atoms, phenyl, chlorine, bromine, hydroxyl, alkoxy with 1-18 carbon atoms or acyloxy with 2-18 carbon atoms, R.sub.

Abstract: Nickel complexes containing ortho- or para-hydroxybenzoate anions and a non-ionic amine ligand are valuable light-stabilisers for polymers, particulary for polyolefins. The complexes may also contain a second carboxylate anion, different from the benzoate anion, and in this case also the amine-free nickel compounds show a high stabilising action.

Abstract: s-Triazine tetracarboxylic acids having the formula ##SPC1##Wherein R is an organic blocking group; A is NH, O, or S; Z is the direct bond, O, S, SO.sub.2, ##EQU1## or CH.sub.2 ; and n is 0 or 1, can be prepared by reacting a dihalo triazine with a dicarboxylic acid substituted with an amino, hydroxy, or mercapto group. By dehydrating the acid a corresponding dianhydride is obtained. These compounds are useful in preparing various polymers, as, for example, polyimides.
Abstract: New processes for the manufacture of alkylated phosphoric acid 4-hydroxyanilides. The compounds, some of which are new, can be used as stabilisers for organic material.
Abstract: This invention provides compositions containing polysulfonamides which are prepared by the addition polymerization of bis-N-cyanosulfonamides. The resins are useful in coating, molding, laminating and casting applications.
Abstract: Crosslinked resins are prepared by reacting an N,N'-bis-imide and a Schiff base at a temperature of from 100.degree.C to 280.degree.C. The crosslinked resins have good thermal stability and are useful for making adhesives, coatings, laminates and molded articles.

Abstract: s-Triazine hexacarboxylic acids having the formula ##SPC1##Can be prepared by reacting cyanuric chloride with a diakyl substituted aromatic compound and thereafter oxidizing the intermediate to yield the above acid. By dehydrating the acid a corresponding trianhydride is obtained. Such compounds are useful as crosslinking agents for resin systems.
Abstract: This invention provides compositions containing amine terminated high temperature prepolymers such as polyimides, polyamide-imides or the corresponding polyamide-acids in combination with cyanamides of polyfunctional secondary amines and the crosslinked polymers obtained therefrom. These cyanamides are reactive fluxes which facilitate processing of the high temperature prepolymer resin by lowering the softening temperature under processing conditions, and they also chain-extend and cross-link the prepolymer resin.
Abstract: New 1-aza-4-thiacyclohexane-4,4-dioxide derivatives are used alone or in combination with other stabilizers for stabilizing organic materials. The new compounds are prepare by reacting substituted diallylsulfides with ammonia, amines or hydrazines.

The metal salts of the acids are readily prepared by reacting the acids or their salts with a reactive form of the metal or metal complex.
Abstract: Substituted piperazine dione oxyls and hydroxides are stabilizers for synthetic polymeric materials normally subject to deterioration caused by ultraviolet light. The compounds may be prepared by first preparing a substituted piperazine dione with subsequent oxidation of the piperazine dione to yield the oxyl and reduction of the oxyl to yield the hydroxide derivative. Polymeric compositions containing these stabilizers may also contain a hindered phenolic compound. A typical embodiment is 15-n-octadecyl-7-oxyl-7,15-diazadispiro[5,1,5,3]hexadecane-14,16-dione.
