  • Patent number: 5592985
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for applying hard material to cutting tool teeth (12), especially the teeth of saw blades (10). Due to its surface tension, the molten material (56) forms a spherical segment (58) in a mold cavity (40) which is defined around a tooth (12). The molten material (56) is cooled in the mold cavity (40) and subsequently heated again until it reaches a state which is at least approximately liquid. Only then is pressure, progressing in the direction towards the tip (18) of the tooth, applied to the spherical segment (58), whereby the latter is flattened. Hereby the precision in shape and durability of the teeth (12) is improved which are made of hard material (56), first molten and subsequently solidified.

  • Patent number: 5585715
Abstract: A sensor of the type comprising a magnetic circuit coupled to the lead, wherein circulates the current to be measured and presenting an airgap wherein is arranged a Hall cell (3) and coupled to a compensation coil (5) supplied, as well as the Hall cell, by a unipolar current source (V.sub.+, earth), comprises a four-branch bridge supply circuit wherein the coil (5) is connected to form a diagonal. The current source and a measurement resistor (R) are mounted in series with said bridge circuit. The variable conduction elements (8, 9, 15, 16) are mounted in the four branches of the bridge and are so controlled as to cause a make-up current to circulate in the coil (5), in one direction or the other, as a function of the residual flow direction indicated by the Hall cell (3), through two respective opposite branches of the bridge circuit. The other two opposite branches being non-conductive.

  • Patent number: 5572217
Abstract: A compass comprising a signal receiver having an antenna unit that can be fixedly mounted on an object on which the compass is to be used, the antenna unit permitting information relating to the direction from which a signal is picked-up by it to be calculated. By communicating with satellites within the GPS satellite network and utilizing the information incorporated in signals transmitted by such satellites, together with the direction information referred to above, a processor permits the calculation of the direction of a heading marker relative to the direction north, thus using the above information for compass applications.

  • Patent number: 5544511
Abstract: The ring is composed of three arc of a circle-like portions which are hinged connected between them so as to allow their mutual pivoting movement in the plane of the ring. The first portion (1) extends on an arc of about 270.degree. and each one of the two other portions extend on an arc of about 45.degree., providing a full ring. Male locking member (9) and female locking member (10) allow to close the ring between the first portion (1) and the third portion (5). To open the ring, it is enough to push inwardly the hinged connection (7) between the second and third portions (4, 5) of the ring, against the resilient force exerted by the first portion (1). The closure of the ring takes place in engaging the male locking member (9) into the female member (10) and by displacing outwardly the hinged connection (7) also against the resilient force of the first portion (1). Once the ring is closed, it is no longer possible to cause its opening under the action of an outwardly directed force.
