  • Patent number: 3990175
Abstract: A doll's head, for use in conjunction with a suitable torso, which will excrete a fluid through the brow portion of the head for simulating perspiration, and a method for making the same. The doll head includes an exterior surface formed and contoured with human characteristics and including an interior cavity or reservoir for storing fluid. The head is formed of flexible plastic having a slit at the mouth providing a valve for filling the interior reservoir and a plurality of small measured holes or pores in the brow or forehead which permit the fluid to flow outwardly therethrough. The method includes the steps of heating a mold containing heat curable plastic and slush molding the plastic to attain the interior shape of the mold. The mold comprises an outer head forming shell which is open at the neck for the insertion of plastic thereinto, and a cap which closes the neck and has a plug portion extending into the shell to form the interior reservoir of the head between the shell and the plug portion.

  • Patent number: 3990704
Abstract: A target game of the type wherein a target image is movingly projected upon a screen for simulated shooting by a gun assembly. The target game generally includes a target projecting assembly for randomly exhibiting a moving target onto the screen and for giving an indication of a successful hit. A gun assembly is movably mounted over the target projecting assembly for selectively exhibiting a hit area on the screen and for causing the target projecting assembly to indicate a hit, along with a drive assembly. The target projecting assembly includes a first projector having a film holder which is movable between a "normal" position wherein a target image is presented for projection and a "hit" position wherein an explosion image is presented for projection. The target projecting assembly also includes a hit actuating member associated with the film holder to move the holder from its normal position to its hit position.

  • Patent number: 3989243
Abstract: A game apparatus in which dice are employed as a chance numerical selection device. The game apparatus includes an elongated base having generally parallel elongated sides. A plurality of flippers are pivotally mounted along the sides of the base for movement generally perpendicular thereto from outer positions to positions centrally between the sides where one flipper will be disposed on top of another. Identical numbers are disposed on both sides of opposite flippers whereby the uppermost flipper, when both flippers are in the central position, will cover the number on the lowermost flipper. A dice receiving receptacle is disposed at one end of the base into which dice may be thrown by the players of the game. The flippers are arranged so that the numbers are randomly disposed along the base and the flippers are removable for changing the random arrangement. Scoring means is provided along the base for opposing players of the game beneath the pivotal mounting of the flippers.

  • Patent number: 3987211
Abstract: Method for making a mixture-type product by preparing a pumpable slush to contain a portion of the product ingredients and then mixing the slush with other product ingredients. Where product temperature control is important, e.g. where the separate mix contains an ingredient which tends to be unstable at elevated temperatures, the slush also serves a cooling and stabilizing function. The slush is prepared by supercooling an aqueous solution of water-soluble product ingredients. For example, water, salt and sugar are used in the manufacture of a food product, dough, and a slush is prepared containing the salt and sugar. Other ingredients of the dough, including a leavening agent which is not stable at the processing temperature and would tend to leaven the dough, are blended as a separate mix.

  • Patent number: 3985360
Abstract: A competitive game wherein a ball is rollably supported upon two spreadable rods above a base including scoring receptacles beneath the rods. The rods are supported by end walls through apertures therein. Terminal handles are attached, one on each end of each rod for the two opposing players to vary the space between the rods thereby moving the ball therealong. The receptacles are designated as favorable or unfavorable to a respective player. The object of the game is for each player to deposit the ball into a favorable receptacle in opposition to the adverse maneuvers of the opposing player. A scorekeeping means in the form of a peg movable between successive apertures corresponding to the point score of that player is provided.

A path of travel for the vehicle is defined on the game board about the base support and a plurality of playing pieces or obstacles such as ramps, barrels, and tires are positionable on the game board in the defined path of travel to change the operating characteristics of the vehicle, as performing "stunts." A centrally disposed variable speed motor is provided to drive the vehicle and tethering arm about the game board. A deck of playing cards is provided which instruct the players of the game which playing pieces or obstacles are to be placed along the path of travel and successfully maneuver in order to obtain points.

  • Patent number: 3980302
Abstract: A ball rolling game apparatus simulating a golf tee. The game apparatus includes a game board having a downwardly inclined starting ramp with ball guides thereon, and a playing surface forming a continuation of the ramp with a ball receiving aperture therein. An obstacle such as a simulated golf pin is disposed in front of the aperture, requiring the skill of a player to roll a ball down the ramp, across the playing surface, and around the obstacle into the aperture. A return trough surrounds the playing surface so that a ball which is projected down the ramp "off target" or too fast, will fall off of the playing surface into the trough. A pivotally operated ball return lever is provided to permit the player to raise the ball out of the aperture into the return trough thereby facilitating the repossession of the ball by the player. In the exemplary embodiment, the playing surface is inclined downwardly back toward the ramp and is concave in cross section.

  • Patent number: 3978584
Abstract: Scissors which may be used with equal ease and efficiency by either a left-handed or right-handed person. The scissors include two generally flat rigid, blade portions which are each sharpened on both edges to provide two sets of cutting edges. The blade portions are pivotally connected to one another and each includes a handle portion on one end. One of the handle portions is adapted to fit the thumb of the user while the other handle portion is larger to permit engagement of two or more fingers of the same hand in the normal fashion of scissors use. The thumb handle is pivotally mounted to its respective blade portion to permit pivotal movement from one selected position at one side of the finger handle as used during right-handed operation to a second selected position at the opposite side of the finger handle for use during left-handed operation. A detent or lock is provided to secure and hold the thumb handle in either of the selected positions.

  • Patent number: 3977386
Abstract: A launching device for propelling a football into an airborne trajectory with the football pointed forwardly and rotating about its longitudinal axis similar to a forward pass in the game of football. The launching device includes a spring-biased, retractable catapult arm with a ball-holding basket on the end thereof. The device is provided with a governor which delays the launching of the ball for a predetermined time period to allow the user to move into position for receiving the ball. The launching device includes height adjustments and spring tension adjustments for regulating the trajectory of the football. A safety interlocking mechanism is provided to prevent the launching of foreign objects. The device cannot be operated unless a football is loaded in the basket. The basket has a size, shape, orientation and edge portion which accurately simulates the trajectory of a thrown football by imparting a spiral spin to the football.

  • Patent number: 3974711
Abstract: The gear shift stick assembly permits shifting in four forward speeds and reverse. It includes a trigger located near the gear shift knob which may be pulled up or down while the stick is being shifted in position. A wire runs from the trigger down through the stick and engages a generally hat-shaped stop sleeve. When the trigger is not operated, the stop sleeve is in its lower position and abuts a fixed stop member that is mounted in the shift assembly in a position to prevent movement of the stick into the reverse gear-actuating position. If the stick is not in the third-fourth gear slot and the trigger is raised, the stop sleeve comes into the path of another stop member preventing movement of the stick toward the third-fourth gear slot.
