  • Patent number: 5092530
Abstract: A coil winding installation includes a conventional winding machine with an XYZ table and supply tables moveable along a rail with respect to the winding machine. Each table carries a different type of wire delivered by a feeder and a supply coil with a wire guide bar and a fastening bar mounted on the supply table. The wire guide bars and fastening bars are moveable vertically on the supply table and for winding operations the wire guide bar is coupled and fixed to the XYZ table of the winding machine. Once the winding is completed, the wire guide bar is placed on the supply table which can be released to make room for another supply table equipped with a new type of wire. The wire changeover to go from one production series to another is thus automated and avoids the usual losses of time.

  • Patent number: 5090564
Abstract: A disposable hypodermic needle sheath and remover which is designed as a disposable two-part container, having two halves. The container can be placed in an open position and a used needle placed into its ribs. The ribs have needle receiving grooves or channels which are disposed within the container and will snugly grasp the needle when the container is closed. The needle sheath and remover permits a needle to be covered immediately after use due to its portability, thus reducing the likelihood that the used needle will cause injury.

  • Patent number: 5090786
Abstract: A drawer having metal side walls comprises a bottom plate, which is supported on angled carrying flanges of the side walls. Each carrying flange has lanced retaining lugs, which are intended to extend into a groove of the bottom plate and after the bottom plate has been placed on the flange are adapted to be bent to assume a fixing position, in which the lugs extend into the material which constitutes one or both side faces of the groove. The retaining lugs are initially lanced to extend in the longitudinal direction of the flange and are adapted to be bent up transversely to the longitudinal direction of the flange and groove. Each lug has a root portion, which merges into the flange and is not wider than the groove. At a distance from the root portion the lugs are provided with lateral projections, which during the bending up of the lugs are in pressure contact with at least one side face of the groove and dig arcuate furrows into the side face.

  • Patent number: 5088707
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing numerically correct partial stacks from individual leaves or sheets interfolded in a U-shaped or zigzag form on an interfolder. A double stream is formed from one or more streams of sheets by staggering or guiding together. This double stream is then continuously folded into zigzag form and piled up in a continuously growing stack, from which partial stacks of a specific size are separated. Gaps are formed in the streams of sheets which simplify the introduction of separating elements into the stack. For this purpose, sheets are removed from the streams of sheets and optionally placed accurately in position on successive sheets.

  • Patent number: 5089082
Abstract: Silicon ingots, in particular, with diameters of approximately 75 mm and greater, can be produced by zone pulling with an oxygen content comparable to crucible-pulled material if a flat quartz element is brought into contact with the molten cap during the pulling operation. A quartz ring which is arranged concentrically beneath the induction heating coil and can be lowered from a rest position into its working position on the molten cap is suitable as a flat element. The ingot material obtained in this manner and also the silicon wafers produced therefrom combine the purity advantages of zone-pulled silicon with the beneficial gettering and hardening action of the incorporated oxygen which otherwise distinguishes only crucible-pulled silicon.

  • Patent number: 5086903
Abstract: A tandem braking system for use in gravity conveyors to control the speed of loaded pallets travelling thereon, especially pallets which have non-continuous support surfaces or support surfaces which are aligned perpendicular to the direction of travel. A brake roller is mounted below the conveyor support plane. Two floating rollers with pliable surfaces are rotatably mounted above the brake roller and rise above the conveyor support plane. Engagement of the tandem brake roller causes downward movement and compression of the floating rollers and causes a braking force to be exerted on the pallet base.
