Abstract: A dyeing process comprises continuous dyeing of cellulosic circular knit, which comprises impregnating a rope of said circular knit with an aqueous liquor comprising one or more dissolved and/or dispersed dyes, any necessary fixing alkali and optionally further assistants at a temperature between 20 and 95.degree. C., squeezing off said impregnated rope and subsequently feeding said squeezed-off rope without intermediary drying into an apparatus in which said rope is opened out into a crease-free state and said dye is fixed in an unsaturated steam/air mixture which is at 100 to 160.degree. C. at an autogenous wet temperature of the moist rope of between 50 and 95.degree. C. and a fixing time of at least 20 seconds.

Abstract: A shaft roller, including a shaft, a casing with two ends, and further, for each of the two ends of the casing, a bearing support, an end bearing, and a protective cap. The roller further includes a plurality of inner tubes, a plurality of ring holders, and a plurality of inner bearings. For each end of the casing, a groove is cut into the inner periphery of the casing for holding a peripheral outward extension of the bearing support. For each end of the casing, the bearing support has a wheel body with spokes, surrounding the end bearing and holding the end bearing with an inward projection. The end bearing is a needle roller bearing around the shaft, having a needle cage with a plurality of needles. For each end of the casing, the protective cap prevents dust and humidity from entering the casing, being attached to the bearing support by a plurality of blocks.

Abstract: A facepiece assembly and a self-contained thermal imaging system comprises a facepiece that includes a front lens, an air inlet for receiving air under pressure, and an air outlet. The thermal imaging system includes a sensor lens connected to the front lens of the facepiece, and a rotating chopper wheel within the facepiece adjacent the sensor lens. A thermal imager sensor head produces digitized electronic data based upon an image projected onto the sensor head by the sensor lens and the rotating chopper wheel. An electronic processor is connected between the thermal imager sensor head and a heads-up display for processing the digitized electronic data and displaying the image on the heads-up display.
Abstract: A process is described for preparing polyols in the form of bifunctional aromatic polyester alcohols from PET wastes and wastes from PET production. The process comprises dissolving the PET wastes in diethylene glycol (DEG), with the ratio of wastes to DEG being selected in such a way that the polyester alcohol obtained after the subsequent transesterification has a hydroxyl number (OHN) greater than 700 mg KOH/g, transesterifying the wastes dissolved in DEG and, if required or if desired, freed of solids, using known transesterification catalysts, with the ethylene glycol (EG) liberated in the process being at least partially distilled off, and distilling off free DEG at a temperature of below 140.degree. C. from the transesterification product at equilibrium until a polyester alcohol having an OHN of 260-500 mg KOH/g is obtained.

Abstract: In order to produce tubular moldings of high-temperature superconducting material based on oxides of bismuth, calcium, strontium, copper and optionally lead, a homogeneous melt of the oxide mixture in a predefined stoichiometry having temperatures from 900 to 1300.degree. C. is made to flow into a casting zone. The casting zone, as a function of its internal diameter, rotates at from 200 to 1500 rpm about its axis which is inclined by at least 15.degree. with respect to the horizontal. The solidified molding is taken from the casting zone and annealed for from 4 to 150 hours at from 700 to 900.degree. C. in an oxygen-containing atmosphere.

Abstract: A hand held article, such as a golf club, includes an elongated handle with an inner support structure mounted to the handle and a vibration absorbing material mounted around the inner support structure. The inner support structure includes a plurality of spaced rigid projections which extend into the vibration absorbing material to a location inwardly of the outer surface of the vibration absorbing material. In one embodiment the inner support structure is integral with the shaft of the handle. In another embodiment a sleeve is heat shrunk onto the shaft and the inner support structure and vibration absorbing material are mounted over the sleeve.
Abstract: A sensor assembly for use with a sink having a faucet hydraulically connected to an electrically operated on/off mechanism for controlling the flow of water from the faucet into the sink. The sensor assembly includes a short focus optical sensor mounted adjacent the sink which directs an infrared ray toward a user's legs for detecting the presence and absence of a user in the immediate vicinity of the sink. The senor assembly also includes an adjustable pipe clamp for connecting the sensor assembly to the drain tube of the sink, and a ball-and-socket flexible connector for interconnecting the optical sensor to the adjustable clamp. The optical sensor is electrically connected to the on/off mechanism, via a conduit provided in the ball-and-socket flexible connector, so as to turn on the faucet when the presence of the user is detected and turn off the faucet when the absence of a user is detected.

Abstract: According to the invention, a process for the preparation of triphendioxazines systemetrically or asymmetrically amidated on both sides comprises reducing a triphendioxazine chromophore, which is optionally already amidated on one side, to give the leuco form end amidating and re-oxidizing the leuco form. Products amidated on both sides are obtained in this manner with a high yield and product quality. Novel triphendioxazine dyestuffs are furthermore prepared in this manner.

An inertial switch is positioned within the body and is actuable between open and closed conditions in response to accelerations of the body greater than a threshold value. A processor also within the body is responsive to the inertial switch and calculates the average speed at which the baseball is thrown over a fixed distance. A visible display on the body is in communication with the processor and displays the calculated speed.

Abstract: Holographic test structures on a semiconductor wafer are used to provide real-time analysis of upstream fabrication processing parameters. The test structures comprise reflective segments within multiple cells on the test structure. The size and placement of the reflective segments within the cells are determined by diffraction theory in such a way that a desired image is projected from the test structure. The intensity, sharpness, and shape of the image is used as a direct measure of the upstream fabrication process parameters.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a drapery fabric for enhancing vertical blinds. The drapery fabric is pre-formed with reception pockets for installation over the upper ends of vertical blinds. The pockets may have gaps for easy installation over preexisting vertical blinds. In one method of installation, the vertical blinds are removed from their traverse rod track, instead into the pockets with the swivel mounts passing through the gaps, and then installed upon the track. This results in the effect of "full" draperies, with the ability to optionally partially install over the length of the vertical blinds, either vertically or horizontally, and seal the gaps at the edges of standard vertical blinds.
