Abstract: An image reproducing apparatus which reproduces image files stored in a recording medium, comprising: a retrieving unit adapted to separately retrieve for a first image group recorded in accordance with a first file rule and a second image group nonconforming to the first file rule; a determination unit adapted to determine a reproducing order for an image group which has been completely retrieved by the retrieving unit upon discriminating the first image group and the second image group; and a reproducing unit adapted to reproduce an image group for which the reproducing order is determined, wherein the retrieving unit starts retrieving for the second image group when finishing retrieving for the first image group, and the reproducing unit reproduces an image group, which has completely been retrieved by the retrieving unit, in a reproducing order determined by the determination unit.
Abstract: This invention improves the operability of an apparatus when the user focuses on the target object to obtain an image with an appropriate image quality. An image capturing apparatus includes an object detection unit, which detects an object from an image based on a signal output from an image sensor, a display unit which displays a marker corresponding to the position of the object detected by the object detection unit, and a change unit which changes the position of the marker displayed on the display unit. The change unit moves the marker to the position of an object detected by the object detection unit, that is different from the current position of the marker displayed on the display unit.

Abstract: In an image sensing apparatus including an image sensing unit with an image sensor and an EVF, first image signals obtained every preset number of frames, of image signals output from the image sensing unit are displayed on the EVF, focus evaluation values indicating a focus state of an image are obtained from second image signals obtained in frames other than the frames for the first image signals of the image signals output from the image sensing unit, a direction of driving a focus lens for an in-focus state is determined on the basis of the obtained focus evaluation values, and the determined driving direction is displayed on the EVF. Further, the focus lens is moved for image sensing in the frames for the second image signals to carry out image sensing of the subject at different focus lens positions for each frame.

Abstract: A large number of stable local regions can be set with low calculation cost. In a face recognition apparatus which discriminates similar face images using feature amounts extracted from local regions included in an image to be discriminated, a moving destination of a feature point extracted from the image to be discriminated, and the size of an image to be clipped at the moving destination are calculated based on a table which defines information required to designate a moving destination of each feature point, and information required to designate the size of an image to be clipped at the moving destination, and an image with the calculated size is clipped at the calculated moving destination as the local region.

Abstract: An image output system connecting an image input apparatus and an image output apparatus by a close proximity wireless communication, and outputting by the image output apparatus of image data transmitted from the image input apparatus by the wireless communication. The image input apparatus detects a connection condition of the wireless communication, generates a script for defining an output processing according to at least a user operation, and transmits the script to the image output apparatus when the disconnection is detected after image data transmission, and the connection is detected again after disconnection detection. The image output apparatus detects the connection condition of the wireless communication, suspend output processing of the image data when the disconnection is detected during the image data output processing, and controls the image data output processing according to the script received from the image input apparatus when the connection is detected again.

Abstract: A radiation image processing apparatus which processes non-spiral projection data obtained by radiation imaging performed by rotating a radiation generator and a two-dimensional radiation detector relative to a subject reconstructs the non-spiral projection data into first volume data subjected to an averaging process in a direction of a rotation axis of the rotation and second volume data not subjected to the averaging process. The radiation image processing apparatus performs planar reconstruction calculation using the first volume data to generate a cross section image in a first plane perpendicular to the direction of the rotation axis and performs planar reconstruction calculation using the second volume data to generate a cross section image in a second plane parallel to the direction of the rotation axis. The resulting cross section images are displayed on a display apparatus.

Abstract: A method for determining feature point locations in an image performs a first search in a predetermined first search area to search for locations of plural feature points in the image, corrects the locations of the plural feature points based on a geometric layout relationship among the plural feature points searched for, sets a second search area based on the corrected location of each of the feature points, and performs a second search in the second search area to search for the location of each of the feature points. Then, the method determines reliability of the location of each feature point searched for by the second search and selects one of the corrected location and the location searched for by the second search, as a location of the feature point.
