    Abstract: Disclosed is an automatic ice maker for effectively separating ice through transmitting the compressive force and the rotational force to the ice tray during the rotation of ice tray. A first rotating shaft is provided at a first end of the ice tray and a second rotating shaft is provided at a second end which is opposite to the first end. A power transmitting member transmits the rotational force to the ice tray through the first rotating shaft and the compressive force along the direction of the first rotating shaft to separate the ice. A supporting member limits the rotation of the ice tray and supports the second rotating shaft. The ice tray is turned over using the rotational force of a step motor. The power transmitting member generates the compressive force to the turned-over ice tray and the compressive force is transmitted to the ice tray to twist the ice tray. Through the twist, the ice is separated from the ice tray.

    Abstract: A filtering device for use in a washing machine is disclosed. The filtering device has a filtering web disposed so that a planar direction thereof is equal with a flowing direction of the washing water in the pipe in which washing water circulates, and many ribs disposed on the filtering web to form a lattice. Longitudinal directions of the ribs have a predetermined angle against the flowing direction of the washing water. The washing water flowing in the pipe during a draining operation is guided toward the edge areas of the filtering web, so it is distributed to be in uniform contact with the filtering web. The dirt having been adhered to the filtering web during the washing operation is efficiently removed by the washing water guided by the ribs during the draining operation.

The heat conduction panel has an enough width to be connected to the total length of the defrosting heater and is uniformly spaced apart from the end of the prefrosting panel. In another embodiment, the prefrosting panel extends to an enough length to be directly connected to the defrosting heater, thus being selectively defrosted with heat transferred from the defrosting heater through thermal conduction.

    Abstract: The reel brake apparatus for a VCR has a releasing shaft and a mode plate for driving the releasing shaft. The releasing shaft is movably mounted on a main base, and the mode plate has a recess part which is recessed from a plane part thereof. The mode plate is movably disposed along a planar direction thereof. When a cassette is loaded in the VCR, the releasing shaft is inserted into the cassette. A locking device in the cassette is driven by the inserted releasing shaft, so reel hubs in the cassette are released. If the operating mode of the VCR is converted to a stop mode or an eject mode during the running of the tape, the mode plate is moved so that the releasing shaft may be accommodated in the recess part. Accordingly, the releasing shaft is detached from the cassette to lock the reel hubs.
