  • Patent number: 4362315
Abstract: A foldable baby carriage has a pair of front legs and a pair of rear legs, with each rear leg being pivotally connected to the intermediate portion of the associated front leg and rearwardly downwardly extending therefrom. An angle bar is pivotally supported above the upper surface of each rear leg intermediate between the ends of the latter and has a pusher rod pivotally connected thereto. With the baby carriage in the opened state, the angle bar is substantially in line with the associated pusher rod portion. With the baby carriage in the closed state, the angle bar and the associated pusher rod portion are in bent relation to each other, thus reducing the vertical dimension of the baby carriage and at the same time reducing the distance between the front legs and between the rear legs and the distance between the front and rear legs, thereby establishing the folded state of the baby carriage.

  • Patent number: 4360337
Abstract: The wing blades of a helicopter rotor each are connected to the rotor hub a connection, e.g. a spar being .fwdarw..rarw. including a hinge which is at least fictitious to permit lead-lag movements of the blades <yielding relative to torsion to permit the blade angle adjustment>. A rod, which is stiff in the lead-lag direction and yielding against torsion, is connected in parallel to the connection between the blade root and the rotor hub. One connection of the rod is rigid, for example the connection to the blade root. The other connection of the rod is elastically yielding substantially only in the plane of the rotor whereby a substantial damping of blade movements in the lead-lag direction is accomplished.

  • Patent number: 4359215
Abstract: A device for the feeding of single sheets, for example letterheads, to a xerographic copier instead of the paper supply from a roll. The device is located on a slide-in unit (1) and comprises an exchangeable cassette (4) which holds the supply stack (7). The base of the cassette (6) is tiltable and spring loaded so that the top sheet rests against two friction rollers (10) located above the supply stack (7). The rotation of the friction rollers (10) results in a separation of the sheets of paper by the corner-separators (13). Thereafter, the sheet of paper enters between sets of transport rollers (18, 19), which are magnetically pressed together, and then the sheet is taken over by the feed advance members of the copying apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4350983
Abstract: A flying object is precisely steered by determining the position of the fng object with the aid of a trigonometric calculation. For this purpose pulse signals emitted in synchronism from two ground stations are received by the flying object and the time difference between the two arrivals is measured. The flying object is also equipped with a clock which is synchronized with the clocks of the two ground stations. Thus, the emitting times are available in the flying object. Based on the measured time difference between the receipt of the two pulses and on the given emission time the coordinates of the actual position of the flying object are calculated. The calculated position coordinates are compared with position coordinates of a rated course stored in the airborne equipment whereby a course deviation signal is calculated. The course deviation signal is then applied to the steering mechanism of the flying object to bring the latter back onto the rated course.

  • Patent number: 4350950
Abstract: The frequency of a pulse signal is measured with the aid of a reference signal generated in an oscillator (11). Both the pulses of the frequency to be measured and the pulses of the reference frequency are counted by separate counters (12, 13) and the counts or counted results are stored in separate memories (14, 15). A flip-flop (21) is set and reset to determine each measuring duration. The difference between two successive counts of the measured frequency counter (14) corresponds to the pulses or rather periods counted during the measuring time duration. The difference between two successive counts of the reference frequency counter (15) corresponds to the length of the measuring time duration whereby the resolution is determined by the reference frequency. A microprocessor (16) divides the number of periods counted by the measuring time duration to ascertain the frequency to be measured which may then be displayed.

  • Patent number: 4345876
Abstract: The wings of a rotary wing aircraft comprise, for example, four wing blades orming two pairs of wing blades whereby the blades of a pair are located diametrically opposite each other. The blades of a pair are connected to each other by a spar extending from wing blade to wing blade. The spar is operatively secured to the rotor head. Each spar has between the rotor head and the respective wing blade a zone with a torsion yieldability larger than in the spar outside said zone. A beam stiff against bending, bridges the zone, referred to as a torque soft zone, from the wing blade toward the rotor head except for a small flexible section between the rotor head and the radially inner end of the beam. The flexible section permits the blade flapping movements and the blade lead-lag movements.

  • Patent number: 4343237
Abstract: Cable harnesses are manufactured with a so-called cable head arranged on a able laying carriage. The cable head is controlled by an electronic data processor and continuously lays a cable running off a coil or spool, about pins on a cable laying table or pallet. A plurality of such coils or spools are mounted in a cable magazine arranged for cooperation with said cable laying table. Any one of the cables on the coils may be drawn into the cable head which is equipped with cable marking tools and with cable buffer tools. The cable being laid is marked and for this purpose it is "buffered" to such an extent, that a dwell time is obtained sufficient for the marking operation. The buffering takes place first to form a loop. The cable length stored in the loop is used up during the marking so as not to interrupt the feed advance of the cable during its marking.

  • Patent number: 4342217
Abstract: Off-center load applications to strain gage pick-ups or transducers are substantially compensated by reducing the off-center load application sensitivity of such transducers. This is accomplished by providing the strain gage of the transducer with additional strain gage components which are so located that the effective position of the strain gage device is shifted on its supporting spring body. Thus, although the strain gage device remains physically in position on the supporting spring body, the center of the coordinate system which defines the ordinate of the system can be shifted in any one of the four directions of the system. If the spring body is equipped with a single strain gage only then the point of load application should lie upon the ordinate of the coordinate system what can be achieved by that shifting. If the spring body is equipped with more than one strain gage then the symmetry of the whole strain gage circuitry can be improved by shifting of the respective strain gage coordinate systems.

  • Patent number: 4341603
Abstract: Working screens for centrifugals, especially sugar centrifugals are made by electrodeposition of screen material on an electrically conducting matrix without filling the screen slots. Support material is then deposited on the screen material even to the extent that the screen slots are filled by the support material which is not resistant to an etchant whereas the screen material is resistant to such etchant. Thereafter the screen slots are opened by an etching step. In a modification three separate deposition steps are performed to form screen slots which open rearwardly so that the slot surface is larger on the rear of the screen than on the front of the screen.
