Abstract: In a method of manufacturing semiconductor devices, liquid glass is applied to the substrate of a semiconductor device to cover the upper surface of a film of photoresist formed on a conductor layer of the substrate and used as an etching mask for patterning the conductor layer. The substrate is baked at a sufficiently high temperature to harden the liquid glass and deform and shrink the photoresist film to expose the sides of such film. The photoresist film is removed. The hardened liquid glass on the photoresist film is simultaneously removed by lift off.
Abstract: A layer of aluminum on a semiconductor substrate is covered by a layer of phospho-silicate glass. The surface of the semiconductor chip is covered with a positive photoresist film which is then heat treated. An upper surface of the photoresist film is covered with a polyimide resin which is heat treated, thereafter. If the semiconductor device is devoid of the layer of phospho-silicate glass, and the layer of aluminum is exposed, a positive photoresist film is interposed on the aluminum and the polyimide resin is applied to cover the upper surface of the interlayer, and is heat treated.

Abstract: A multipurpose double barrel syringe is manufactured by disassembling a first syringe having a first predetermined capacity, a first cylinder, a first hypodermic needle of a first gauge at a first end thereof, a first piston plunger having a plunger tip with a smooth seating surface and a rear indentation and a first collar extending radially therefrom at a spaced opposite second end thereof, and a second syringe having a second cylinder with a second predetermined capacity less than the first predetermined capacity, the second cylinder having a second collar extending substantially radially therefrom at a first end thereof, a second needle of a second gauge with a tip and a base and a second piston plunger having a piston rod having a second plunger tip coaxially mounted at a first end thereof coaxially slidably mounted in the second cylinder for movement in axial directions and a third collar extending radially therefrom at a spaced opposite second end thereof.
Abstract: Each of at least two enclosures accommodates an electronic equipment unit and each has a plurality of corners. The enclosures are connected to each other at a corner overlap portion of each. An interconnecting cable, electrically connecting the electronic equipment units to each other, extends through the corner overlap portions.
Abstract: A support device pivotally supports a resilient body on the leading surface of either a door or sliding door frame in a manner whereby the gravitational force on the body moves the body between a sliding door and the frame. The body is mounted on a rod which is loosely accommodated in a mounting housing to prevent the transfer of the shock of impact of the door on the body to the housing. The body is manually movable away from the door and the frame, so that the body is positioned by gravitational force in abutment with the leading surface of the door when the door is closed. This permits the door to be securely closed with its leading edge in abutment with the frame. The body is interposed by gravitational force between the leading edge of the door and the frame when the door is open thereby preventing the door from closing fully by preventing the leading edge of the door from abutting the frame and thus protecting hands from being crushed between the door and the frame.
Abstract: A method of surface treatment of a layer grown on a semiconductor substrate by chemical vapor deposition technique for removing a projection appearing on the layer comprises the steps of forming a layer on the semiconductor substrate by chemical vapor deposition technique, forming a membrane of plastic material that resists etching on the layer, pressing a flat plate against the plastic membrane on a projection of the layer to expose the projection, and etching the projection.
Abstract: A cold bank tank in an enclosure for storing thermal energy in a very small area contains a liquid heat transfer fluid and has a top which is the top of the enclosure and a spaced opposite bottom. An inside heat exchanger extends from the bottom of the tank in the enclosure for cooling warm air in the enclosure rising by natural convection, returning the cooled air to the enclosure and transferring the warm air to the tank wherein it warms the fluid in the tank. An outside heat exchanger outside the enclosure is spaced from the top of the enclosure and coupled to the tank. A plurality of energy storage rods in the fluid in the tank store thermal energy in a very small area. The heat warming the fluid is transferred to the energy storage rods and when the outside temperature decreases below a predetermined magnitude, heat is released from the rods to the liquid fluid and vaporizes the fluid.
Abstract: A container has an air tank therein occupying some of the space in the container. A projecting part extends from the container and has an open end coupled to the air tank via an air duct. A hole-filling member is mounted at the open end of the projecting part. A pump in the container selectively pumps sea water into the container and out of the container for maneuvering the container beneath the hull of a damaged sea vessel to position the hole-filling member of the projecting part in a hole in the bottom of the hull. Compressed air is supplied to the air tank to control the buoyance of the container and for expanding the hole-filling member in the hole in the hull to plug the hole.
Abstract: A vehicular anti-theft device has a clamping member for clamping the tire of a vehicle under pressure to prevent rotation of the wheel of the vehicle on which the tire is mounted. An actuating device mounted on the vehicle and coupled to the clamping member selectively moves the clamping member onto the tire to clamp the tire and away from the tire to release the tire. A control mounted in the vehicle and coupled to the actuating device includes the ignition switch of the ignition system of the vehicle. The control controls the operation of the actuating device to clamp the tire when the ignition is turned OFF and releases the tire when the operator of the vehicle provides a predetermined code indication.
Abstract: A memory access control system in a vector processing system comprises a memory unit, a memory device, address holding registers, a shift register and data buffer registers. The memory access control system distinguishes each vector data read out from the memory unit based upon the address holding registers by the output of the shift register. The shift register stores vector element numbers indicated by the memory device and transfers same to the data buffer registers. Each number from 0 to n-1, of a vector A composed of n elements a.sub.0, a.sub.1, a.sub.2, . . . a.sub.n-1, is a vector element number and each data, from a.sub.0 to a.sub.n-1, is vector element data.
Abstract: A towing device releasably couples a towing vehicle to a towed vehicle and is movably mounted on the chassis beneath the grill guard of the towed vehicle. In a tow position, the towing device extends beyond the grill guard and the towed vehicle. In a retracted position, the towing device is unnoticeable.

Abstract: A cylindrical structure has a central cylindrical hay storage area and a plurality of concentric circular paths therein around the hay storage area adjacent each other. Circular guide tracks are provided in at least one of the circular paths and extend therearound. A plurality of stanchions are mounted on the guide tracks for rotation around one of the paths for moving cows around such path to different areas thereof including washing areas wherein cows are washed, milking areas wherein cows are milked and feeding areas wherein cows are fed. The stanchions are rotated around the path.
Abstract: A novelty motor vehicle has a pair of rear wheels of diameter greater than that of the front wheels. An engine is mounted on the rear of the chassis aft of the rear wheels. Weights are mounted on the rear of the chassis aft of the rear wheels. A transmission is provided. A special gear box is mounted on the chassis and coupled to the engine. Two drive shafts are provided; one from the transmission to the special gear box for rotating the gears and the other from the special gear box to the rear end for driving the vehicle slower. An independent hand brake system selectively brakes either of the rear wheels to turn the vehicle about the braked wheel when the front wheels are on the ground or in the air due to the weight on the chassis aft of the rear wheels.

Abstract: A mounting device supports an elongated linearly extending member at its bottom end vertically in the ground. A length of chain has a bottom end coupled to the mounting device and a spaced opposite top end coupled to the member in the area of the top end of the member in a manner whereby the chain extends parallel with the member in spaced relation therewith. A tension adjusting device is coupled in the chain intermediate the ends in a manner whereby the chain functions as an adjustable strut to maintain the member in vertical position. A net supporting device supports a net in the area of the top end of the member and perpendicularly to the member, and includes a roller rotatably mounted on the member closely adjacent the top end thereof. A length of cord passes around part of the roller in a manner whereby a first part of the cord extends in spaced parallel relation with the member between the member and the chain and a second part of the cord extends perpendicularly with the member for supporting a net.
