  • Patent number: 4511192
Abstract: A support for a tension roller is comprised of two cup-shaped sleeves, oriented with their open ends in the same direction, and with an inner one of the cup-shaped sleeves extending into the other of the cup-shaped sleeves. The outer end of the inner cup-shaped sleeve is outwardly flanged, to define a clamp between the flange and the open end of the other cup-shaped sleeve for holding the inner ring of the tension roller bearing. The bottoms of the two cup-shaped sleeves are initially spaced, and are drawn together upon tightening of a mounting screw extending therethrough into a machine frame, in order to clamp the inner bearing ring between the flange and the open end of the other cup-shaped sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4511188
Abstract: A ball bearing for lengthwise and rotational movement on a shaft has circumferentially distributed endless rows of balls. It consists of an outer sleeve with an axially extending cylindrical race in its bore for the loaded balls of each row and a sleeve-shaped cage rotatably arranged in the bore of the outer sleeve. The cage has axially extending races for the loaded and unloaded balls and these guides are interconnected in pairs by semi-circular shaped radially outwardly open turnaround races. An axially extending return recess for the unloaded balls of each row is machined between each pair of cylindrical races, either in the cylindrical bore of the outer sleeve or on the cylindrical shaft. In order to avoid contact wear of the balls in the turnaround races upon turning movement of the shaft, the cage is held at its two ends by an end ring having an outer section radially covering the turnaround guides of the cage.

  • Patent number: 4509764
Abstract: An hydraulically operated clutch release has an annular piston hydraulically moveable in an annular chamber. A felt ring is mounted on a shoulder of the piston away from the chamber, to engage the bore surface of the chamber, and a holding ring is snapped onto the end of the shoulder to hold the felt ring on the shoulder. An extension of the holding ring forms a seal with the bore on the chamber, and defines, with the felt ring a dust catching recess.

  • Patent number: 4509364
Abstract: In a wear measuring arrangement for bearings, a support sleeve is slidably mounted in one of the bearing rings, and supports an inductive sensor having a plunger type armature with a probe tip. The support sleeve is mounted to be held in a position with the probe tip away from the other bearing part, and to be released by a control shaft. Upon release, a spring arranged in the bore of the support sleeve resiliently urges the probe tip to engage the other bearing part and pierce any grease layer on the surface thereof.

  • Patent number: 4502246
Abstract: For the purpose of holding a slide door of a vehicle at its fully opened position, a catch lever is provided on a bracket which is pivotally mounted on the slide door and a stopper means is additionally provided on the bracket to prevent the excessive pivoting of the catch lever. Because of the pivotable mounting of the bracket and the provision of the stopper means, the catch lever is prevented from being interfered by a curved portion of the guide rail guiding the sliding motion of the slide door for smooth opening and closing of the door and the device is free from any pronounced protrusion on the part of both the door and the guide rail.

  • Patent number: 4483671
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing a multilayer powder blank, and the product of such manufacture which is suitable for subsequent extrusion. A hollow cylindrical container with its central axis oriented horizontally is rotated while powder is allowed to fall from a powder distribution tube in the center of the container downward onto the inner surface of the rotating wall, thereby forming successive layers of powder which are maintained in position by centrifugal forces acting thereon. The powder blank consisting of the multiple layers is removed from the container, isostatically compressed, and finally sintered, with fusion of the outer powder layers into a fused, water-tight coating.

  • Patent number: 4482784
Abstract: A position determining device has two perpendicular longitudinal magnetostrictive elements. A grid of a plurality of closed loop conductors has two parallel straight legs which form the grid. A flux producing element inductively coupled to at least one of said grid conductors causes an electrical current in that conductor. In turn that current induces a strain wave in the magnetostrictive element. Near the end of the magnetostrictive element is a sensing means to detect the strain wave comprising a lumped inductive capacitive delay line substantially having a plurality of evenly spaced inductive coils aligned with the magnetostrictive elements. The lumped delay line is defined by the formulas ##EQU1## where w is the overall length of the delay line; L is the total inductance, C is the total capacitance, Z is the terminating impedance, c is capacitance of the capacitance associated with each coil, and n is the number of coils.

  • Patent number: 4476781
Abstract: In a marking system for stamping materials such as aluminum strip, a pulse of determined energy is supplied to a solenoid, to impart a determined kinetic energy to a die. The die is guided to dissipate substantially all of this kinetic energy in the deformation of the material being stamped. The pulse of energy applied to the solenoid may be controlled by a programmable computer, programmed to control the duration of time that a current is applied to the solenoid. The computer may control a plurality of such solenoids, controlling the times and relative numbers of operation of each of the solenoids.

  • Patent number: 4464036
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling the activity of a developing solution against blackening by using a test piece for use in an automatic developer are disclosed. A difference between a standard density measured at the predetermined point of the first test piece developed in a standard developing solution, and a density measured at the same point of the second test piece of the same type as the first test piece as said predetermined point of the first test piece, developed in a developing solution to be controlled, is obtained. Then, a predetermined factor is multiplied by the thus obtained density difference to obtain a control value, and then the activity of the developing solution is controlled according to the control value, such as adding a supplementary solution against the blackening to the developing solution to be controlled or putting an exposed film into the same. A permissible density difference range may be determined, in which no activity control is performed.
