  • Patent number: 5433188
Abstract: A fuel burning furnace includes a number of energy efficient features. The furnace includes a heat exchanger in which combustion air is preheated by hot discharge gases. Diverters are provided in the heat exchanger to continually urge hot combustion gases toward the interior portions of the heat exchanger to improve its heat transfer characteristics. The furnace incorporates a number of features to determine malfunction and indicate inefficient operation. A humidification control system for the humidification or dehumidification of circulated air also is provided. The furnace also includes a blower motor system which compensates for loss of tension in driving belts and makes correction for blower speed in response to temperature variations.

  • Patent number: 5321350
Abstract: Fundamental frequency and period detector processes and systems which determine the end of a cycle of an ac waveform by using the characteristic of the integral of a single cycle of an ac waveform that the value of the integral at the end of the cycle is the same as at the cycle start despite cycle noise, multiple zero crossings and other cycle obscuration. These processes and systems use the cycle integral to self-synchronize with each cycle of an ac waveform. Formation of the cycle integral of each processed cycle is a useful by-product of the frequency and period detection processes and systems.

  • Patent number: 5318043
Abstract: A condom designed for oral-genital sex includes, in one aspect, a device adapted to be worn in the mouth of the person practicing oral sex. The device includes a tubular member having one closed end and formed of thin, pliant, impervious material. Joined to the open end of the tubular member are two or three flanges extending generally radially outwardly and spaced closely together. The flanges are curved out of a plane transverse to the axis of the tubular member to define a channel adapted to receive the upper and lower lips of an average person. The device is gripped by placing the lips within the channel, and closing the jaws slightly to compress and retain the open end of the device. The tubular member may be formed to extend into the mouth of the wearer, for the purpose of performing fellatio. A penis may be inserted into the tubular member without making contact with the lips or mouth or tongue of the wearer.

  • Patent number: 5313809
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of producing an insulated wrap intended for wrapping any desired item in order to maintain a given temperature, either hot or cold, for the desired item. The method basically consists of providing a die having a plurality of cavities each of which has evacuation means associated therewith, placing a flexible thermoformable film over the die and evacuating the cavities thereby to thermoform the film and create multiple pouches in the film material. The pouches are then filled with a eutectic chemical compound consisting of potassium chloride solution, and then overlying the pouch-filled film with an insulated sealing film. The insulated sealing film consists of a polyethylene film co-extruded to a layer of closed cell polyolefin foam. The sealing film acts as a thermo barrier. The wrap is completed by providing fastening means at opposed ends of the wrap in order to permit the wrap to be fastened about any desired item for temperature maintenance purposes.

  • Patent number: 5220729
Abstract: A hand-held power saw has a main housing and two guide housings telescopically interactive with the main housing and having facing open distal extremities. A motor and associated drive pulley are associated with the main housing. Paired idle and alignment rollers are disposed within the guide housings. An endless abrasive wire rope is centrally disposed within the main and guide housings in contact with the drive pulley and paired rollers. The region of the wire rope extending between the facing distal extremities of the guide housings is employed to cut a workpiece.
