Abstract: Wheelchair trainer apparatus for use with a three-wheel racer wheelchair and which may be effectively utilized as part of a computerized system for physiological training and simulated road race training. A jack supports the wheelchair frame such that the drive wheels just make frictional driving contact with the crest of one of two of the trainer's rollers. Undesired drag, caused by the weight of the wheelchair and its user, is substantially decreased or virtually eliminated, enhancing the trainer's ability to simulate real road conditions.
Abstract: Wheelchair trainer apparatus for use with a four-wheel everyday or sports wheelchair. The trainer includes a support plate carried by the trainer frame for holding the wheelchair front caster wheels in a position such that the wheelchair drive wheels drivably contact a roller with the center of each of the drive wheels directly vertically above the roller's rotational axis. In a preferred embodiment, the plate alternatively holds the wheelchair front caster wheels in a second position such that the wheelchair drive wheels drivably contact a second roller with the center of each of the drive wheels directly vertically above the second roller's rotational axis.
Abstract: A CD wallet with an entrapped graphics sheet and dedicated to the storing of a particular CD corresponding to the graphics on the entrapped graphics sheet, together with a method for fabricating the dedicated CD wallet. The wallet is fabricated of flexible panels of thermoplastic sheet material, and the entrapped graphics sheet includes two parallel scores thereon and is preferably of greater rigidity than the plastic panels, permitting the plastic panels to bend along the scores on the entrapped graphics sheet to form a spine when the graphics sheet is folded along the scores.
Abstract: A device for protectively storing collectible disks, in particular a plastic album leaf for protectively storing and displaying collectible disks such as milk caps or coins. The device comprises two flexible plastic panels in superposed relation, and securing means securing the panels in such relation with a first opening between the panels, the securing means including an arcuate seam sealing the superposed panels together along a circular arc for containing at least one-half but not the entirety of the disk between the panels within the arc of the seam, the arc of the seam exceeding 180.degree. and terminating at a second opening between the superposed panels of sufficient width for permitting passage therethrough and into the arc of at least one-half of the disk when the disk is received by the first opening for containing the entirety of the disk between the panels.
Abstract: A device for protectively holding a disk, and in particular a plastic wallet for protectively containing an optical digitally encoded disk such as a compact disc or CD. The wallet is fabricated of flexible thermoplastic sheet material and includes a pocket for containing the CD, as well as pockets arranged for containing a single graphics sheet viewable through the transparent front and rear covers of the wallet. A preferred embodiment of the CD wallet includes an opening through one of the sheets of the CD pocket for assisting in withdrawing the CD from its pocket.
Abstract: A lumbar support belt in which vertical displacement with respect to the wearer's body is precluded, or at least significantly lessened. The belt further includes an improved elastic support section for promoting a more even distribution of pressure against a wearer's lumbar region. In addition, the back belt is provided with detachable suspenders, and the suspenders and belt are configured for implementing correct installation of the suspenders to the belt.
Abstract: Article retaining devices for advantageous utilization in detachable combination with a lumbar support belt. In one embodiment, a pouch includes straps secured thereto and extending about the inner side of the lumbar support belt and cooperating near their free ends with cooperating fastening means on the pouch's front side for releasably fastening the strap ends thereto. Separate implement holders may be removably secured to the lumbar support belt as well as to the pouch.
Abstract: A disposable safety hypodermic syringe wherein the used syringe needle is rearwardly released from the syringe barrel by rotating the syringe plunger, and the needle is captured completely within the barrel when the plunger is retracted and locked with respect to the barrel.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for automating the distribution of audio programming to passenger entertainment systems on-board carriers such as aircraft. Audio signals containing the audio programming are encoded to produce compressed digital audio data signals, and the compressed digital data from the encoded signals are stored and subsequently distributed from a central distribution facility to a plurality of local distribution facilities located at or in the vicinity of airports. The compressed digital data is stored at each of the local distribution facilities, and is subsequently distributed to passenger entertainment systems on-board aircraft locally situated with respect to respective ones to the local distribution facilities. The aircraft received data is stored onto computer storage media, such as computer hard-disks, resident in the passenger entertainment systems on-board the aircraft.

Abstract: A combined wiper and head cover for a golf club, including a club head scrubber, and the method of applying the cover to the club and in particular to a putter. A preferred embodiment of the cover includes a towel section and a head-engaging section secured to the towel section for engaging the heel of the club head, a fastener for releasably securing the head-engaging section to the club such that the towel section drapes from the toe of the club head and is substantially confined to one side of the club shaft when the club's head is positioned above its shaft, and a pliant scrubber patch secured to the cover.
Abstract: A method of playing a dice game utilizing a game die having indicia on some sides which are different in kind from indicia on other sides and producing functional relationships for facilitating the calculation of points scored in dice games wherein a plurality of such dice are used, and a deck of instruction cards drawn by election. A preferred embodiment of the die of the present invention comprises a cube including a first side having thereon the numeral 100, a second side having thereon the numeral 50, and third through sixth sides respectively having thereon two spots, three spots, four spots and six spots.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for holding photograph albums in localized association with photo negatives corresponding to the photoprints in the respective albums. The holder preferred embodiment includes three substantially rectangular panels, a first spine pivotally connecting a first one of the panels and a second one of the panels, and a second spine longitudinal parallel to the first spine pivotally connecting the second panel and a third one of the panels. Album retaining means are carried by the panels for retaining the photo albums thereon, and negatives storage means are also carried by the panels for storing photo negatives in respective localized association with the album retaining means.
