  • Patent number: 8133522
Abstract: The present invention relates to functional milk products containing gum acacia as a fiber source and organoleptic attribute enhancer without any discernable after taste. The preferred milk used in the practice of this invention is super-skimmed milk that has had essentially all of the fats removed via ultra-centrifugation or reconstituted non-fat dried milk prepared from the super-skimmed milk. The gum acacia is used in amounts sufficient to provide a good source of dietary fiber without adversely affecting the organoleptic properties of the milk. Flavorants, vitamins and/or minerals may be added to the functional milk product for special consumer products.

  • Patent number: 8135835
Abstract: Methods, brokerage systems and program products for enabling a mobile electronic device communicate with another electronic device for accomplishing a requested task without interrupting a user of the other electronic device. A task is requested at the mobile device and a transmission signal locates other electronic devices within a receivable range of the transmission signal. A number of scenarios of various combinations of located other devices is built, whereby each scenario is capable of accomplishing the requested task. One of these scenarios is selected, information relating to the task is sent to the electronic devices within such scenario, and then the requested task is performed by such selected electronic devices. Upon completion of the task, deliverables may be transmitted from the selected electronic device to a predetermined destination. Owners of the selected electronic devices may be rewarded for usage of their devices.

  • Patent number: 8125618
Abstract: A system for exposing a resist layer to an image that includes a layer reflective to imaging tool radiation and a resist layer having a region of photosensitivity over the reflective layer. An imaging tool projects radiation containing an aerial image onto the resist layer, with a portion of the radiation containing the aerial image passing through the resist and reflecting back to the resist to form an interference pattern of the projected aerial image through the resist layer thickness. The thickness and location of the resist layer region of photosensitivity are selected to include from within the interference pattern higher contrast portions of the interference pattern in the direction of the resist thickness, and to exclude lower contrast portions of the interference pattern in the resist thickness direction from said resist layer region of photosensitivity, to improve contrast of the aerial image in said resist layer region of photosensitivity.

  • Patent number: 8118535
Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatus for swapping pods within a semiconductor processing tool during a substrate processing cycle. A dirty pod carrying a substrate in need of processing is provided within the processing tool, and the substrate is transferred into a processing chamber thereof. At least one clean pod is also provided within the processing tool. Upon substrate processing completion, the processed substrate is transferred from the chamber directly into a clean pod within the processing tool. Wherein a plurality of substrates are processed within the chamber, a plurality of clean pods may be provided within the tool whereby the plurality of substrates are transferred into a single clean pod or split into subsets that are transferred into different clean pods within the processing tool. The clean pod(s) carrying the processed substrate(s) are then transferred to other tool(s) for continued semiconductor fabrication processing.

  • Patent number: 8104772
Abstract: A seal for containment of fluids or gases during high temperature applications, separating a high pressure area on one side from a low pressure area on an opposite side, and formed to convert axial displacements into radial movements eliminating axial strains, having at least one engaging, conical ring structure with a tapering arcuate side facing radially away from the high pressure side. The conical ring structure has a side opposite the tapering side that is cylindrical, and a cylindrical diameter that is concentric with the arcuate side. The conical ring structure has an axial distal end with a larger diameter than its opposite end for engaging a flat annular surface on an adjacent structural member to form the seal. A heat-destructible wax spacer may be used for insertion within the clearance gap to locate the seal concentrically with the gland for ease of assembly.

  • Patent number: 8104769
Abstract: A liquid and gas tight bi-directional metal frustro-conical seal is energized by compression between planar, annular faces causing its inner and outer diameters to sealingly engage opposing cylindrical surfaces of inner and outer metal pipes. The contact forces between the concentric sealing surfaces are high in order to locally deform the softer metal and eliminate leakage paths. The sealing ring is backed-up by a similar ring that is reduced in cross-sectional width, such that when compressed the ring does not engage the inner and outer cylindrical surfaces. The second ring is nested with and directly below the sealing ring, and equally axially compressed when the joint is assembled. When the pipe joints are disassembled, the second ring serves to restore the seal ring to its original, deeper frustro-conical shape, allowing the pipe joints to be easily separated for reuse of the piping in a different location.

  • Patent number: 8095505
Abstract: Copy protected materials are backed up or restored and made available for play on electronic media players through an online retrievable system. Corrupted segments of electronic media storage files are identified and located prior to being read, executed, or played. An uncorrupted copy from the network is then located, and software instructions provide for the storage of the uncorrupted segment of the file on electronic media player, merging the uncorrupted segment into the reading, executing, or playing of the electronic storage media file to seamlessly produce an output in real-time that is indistinguishable from the uncorrupted file.

  • Patent number: 8090504
Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatus for automatically ensuring passenger safety by identifying article(s) in need of securing in a vehicle and attaching at least one wireless signaling component to each article. Each wireless signaling component includes a wireless signaling device and a mechanical blocking device that controls a wireless signal emitted from the wireless signaling device. The emitted wireless signaling indicates a state of the article. State information relating to a state of each article is generated and received at a data network device, which generates state results based on this state information. The state results are output to an end user, whereby the state results identify those articles that are secured, unsecured, and/or improperly secured, for automatically ensuring passenger safety.

  • Patent number: 8087160
Abstract: A compression assembly tool for attaching a connector to a coaxial cable includes a tool body that supports a connector to be compressed in a compression head, a fixed handle, a moving lever handle, and an axially sliding plunger. The lever handle is pivotally connected to the tool body at the front end and to a link at the back end. The connection of the link to the back end of the lever handle and the placement of pivot points at opposite ends of the lever handle provides a scissor action appearance. The relative lengths of the lever handle, plunger and link and the placement of the pivots provides high levels of compression force and sufficient compression travel by the plunger to compress connectors of different lengths while requiring only a very limited handle opening angle, which allows maximum hand strength to be applied to the tool handles.

  • Patent number: 8047901
Abstract: A dehider includes a pneumatic motor driving a pair of disk blades in opposed cutting oscillations and a governor that controls the speed of the motor. Governor balls, acting as centrifugal weights, spin with the motor and push against an inclined flange on a valve head to move the valve head towards a valve seat. The motion of the valve head compresses a biasing spring and restricts the flow of pressurized air as the desired speed is exceeded. As speed decreases, centrifugal force decreases and the biasing spring opens the valve to provide additional power to the motor. The disk blades are provided with a cylindrical central lip that substantially increases the area of the central bearing that the blades turn on and produces significantly longer blade life.

  • Patent number: 8043117
Abstract: A coaxial plug connector arranged on or at a distance from the plug-sided end of the dielectric of the channel for the inner conductor part. The radial diameter of the channel in the plug-sided end direction narrows from a first to a second predetermined radial diameter. The inner conductor part has a first diameter and a second diameter, which is smaller than the first diameter and smaller than the second predetermined radial diameter. The first diameter is selected such that the inner conductor part fits into the first predetermined radial diameter and simultaneously, is greater than the second predetermined radial diameter, such that a collar is formed. The collar is arranged such that the inner conductor part is located at a predetermined axial position if the collar of the inner conductor part strikes the narrowing radial diameter of the channel.
