Abstract: Hematology control compositions and systems used to measure a plurality of parameters in a blood sample are provided. The hematology control compositions are particularly useful as a control for multi-parameter, automated instrument systems. The control compositions comprise a reticulocyte component, a white blood cell component, a red blood cell component, a nucleated red blood cell component, a platelet component and a reticulated platelet component. Methods of making and using the control compositions are also provided.
Abstract: The present invention discloses compositions and methods for rejuvenating human skin by stimulating growth of new collagen. The topically applied compositions contain live yeast cell derivative (LYCD), and one or more natural skin supplements that, it is believed, work synergistically to create new collagen, which improves the appearance and texture of skin. A number of compositions are disclosed including formulations for an oxygenating serum, a moisturizing cream, and a facial peel. These compositions can be used in concert as part of a skin rejuvenation system.
Abstract: A control and system for acute protein plasma measurement. The control includes morphologically fixed and stabilized blood cells that have been added to a diluent.
Abstract: A lighting device including a temperature sensing device for controlling the operation of the light emitting device. The lighting device includes a housing, a reflector coupled to the housing, a bulb received in the housing, the bulb being connected to a source of electrical power, and a capillary tube thermostat received in the housing. The capillary tube is an elongated metal member having a hollow center filled with a vacuum charged fluid. The fluid is calibrated to open the thermostat between 150.degree. F. and 350.degree. F. The capillary tube thermostat is in electrical communication with the power source and is supported by the housing in thermal communication with the bulb. The thermostat extends along at least a portion of the length of the bulb. The thermostat is also in thermal communication with the reflector, and thus will open the thermostat contacts if an overheat condition is detected at either the bulb or the reflector.
Abstract: A method for making an alpha prime SiAlON-based ceramic article, including the steps of providing an admixture of starting materials and densifying said admixture. The admixture includes: beta silicon nitride; a source of aluminum selected from the group consisting of aluminum nitride, alumina, and mixtures thereof; at least one oxide compound; and a plurality of alpha prime SiAlON seeds.

Abstract: A partition for forming a barrier in a channel has a molded resin-based plate and a plurality of thermally expandable pellets attached to one side of the plate. The partition is secured in place in the channel by mounting brackets. As heat is applied, a blowing agent in the pellets is activated and the pellets expand to many times their original volume. The resultant foam seals the gap between the plate and the surrounding structure and further secures the plate in place. The partition is particularly useful in forming a sound/water/air barrier in an automotive cavity.
