Abstract: A method for fusing brushware on a thin walled, molded hollow plastic synthetic container is described. Tufts of synthetic materials arc picked and non-working ends thereof fused. The hollow bottle is molded with protrusions extending from a surface thereof with one protrusion intended to received each fused tuft end. The protrusions then are heat softened to form a melted section of synthetic surface wherein the fused tuft end can be mounted. The result is a hollow container having tufts extending from the outer surface thereof, integral with the container without distorting the thin wall thereof by the fusing process.
Abstract: An air valve for an inflatable device, which includes a valve block having two downward locating plates, a valve cap detachably closed on the valve block, and a valve flap fastened to an inside annular flange inside the valve block and turned to close/open the air passage through the valve block, wherein the valve flap has a finger rod raised from a free flap portion thereof for the holding of the hand to turn the free flap portion of the valve flap downwards from a close position to an open position, enabling the free flap portion to be forced through the gap between the locating plates and then stopped at the locating plates in the open position.
Abstract: An air valve includes a valve body having an air passage and a transverse bar suspended in the air passage, a valve flap coupled to said transverse bar at a bottom side to close said air passage, and a movable plate coupled to locating blocks at said transverse bar at a top side and moved vertically between a first position where the movable plate is released from the valve flap and the air passage is closed by the valve flap, and a second position where the valve flap is deformed by the movable plate to open the air passage for letting air pass.
Abstract: A device for mounting a wide variety of different window dressings is described. The device is intended to use conventional mounting brackets to mount the window dressing without the necessity of providing holes to mount the same in the face of the window molding or frame. The device includes either a corner or linear mounting plate which, respectively, may be used either on the right hand or left hand corner, or horizontally or vertically on the frame. Each plate is U-shaped in cross-section and intended to cover the sides and front of the window frame or molding or L-shaped to cover a portion. In one embodiment the portion covering the face can be laterally adjustable. Another embodiment provides flanges for mounting directly on the wall surrounding the window when no molding is present. The front face of the plate may be provided with a plurality of mutually spaced dimensioned cut-outs.
Abstract: A hand pump includes a cylindrical casing having a top open side covered with a top cover and a bottom side provided with an air outlet, a handle inserted through a hole the top cover, and a piston moved with the handle up and down to pump air out of the cylindrical casing through the air outlet, wherein the handle has multiple peripheral sides and angles defining a plurality of longitudinal grooves equiangularly spaced around the periphery for guiding outside air into the cylindrical casing evenly upon an up stroke of the handle, and a wedge-like coupling rod at a bottom end thereof press-fitted into a coupling hole at the piston for enabling the piston to be reciprocated with the handle.

Abstract: Digital signal processing apparatus for frequency demultiplexing a wide band channel which converts the data stream into parallel branches by means of serial-to-parallel conversion, and demultiplexing which consists of low pass and high pass fine filtering stages and a coarse filtering stage split among processors across parallel branches. Wideband signals arc processed without expensive processors because of the slower rate in the parallel channels. This may also be used for the inverse function of multiplexing.

Abstract: An improved efficient deep fat fryer is described. Heat exchange within the fryer tank is facilitated by a "U" shaped burner tube which is cantilever mounted from a side of the tank and a burner system is provided to circulate in a spiral pathway products of combustion through the burner tube. An internal turbulator baffle is provided to both facilitate the spiral circulation through the tube and to facilitate heat transfer from the combustion gases to burner tube walls. Exhaust gases are circulated downwardly from the burner tubes to a plenum beneath the tank which also has heat transfer baffle plates to facilitate heat exchange. Ultimately the products are expelled through a flue. The system further comprises filter bags for continuously filtering the oil which are disposed in a sump at the surface of the oil so that oil continually spills from the tank into the sump where it is filtered preferably by one or more bags of cloth material.

Abstract: An underwater vehicle having a negative buoyancy and thrust units by which it can hover is described. Slow speed maneuverability while hovering is achieved by moving the position of a mass fore and aft and/or side to side such as to cause the vehicle to pitch or roll and thereby vector the otherwise vertical thrust such that the vehicle is propelled in the direction in which the mass has moved.
Abstract: A mine neutralisation vehicle comprises a first portion to which propulsion units are attached by which propulsion units the vehicle is positioned. Pivotally connected to the first section is a second section containing a shaped charge warhead. By means of the pivot connection the shaped charge can be directed at a mine, for example a buried mine, while the main body of the vehicle is maintained in a horizontal direction.

Abstract: A portable vehicle fueling device is described wherein fuel is dispensed directly from the vehicle fuel tank directly from the vehicle fuel tank by the vehicle fuel pump through the hose of this invention so that a supply of gasoline can be provided for auxiliary engines such as boat, lawn mowers, and the like. A Schrader valve is provided in the fuel line and the portable device of this invention includes a coupling for opening the Schrader valve at the end of the hose and a nozzle at the opposite end.
Abstract: A fan blade having a flow bumper curved backwards at a front side thereof, a mouth on the middle for gathering currents of air, a flow guide obliquely forwardly extending from the flow bumper at a top side above the mouth, and a rack and a mounting board vertically disposed at a rear side thereof for connection to a hub of a fan motor. The invention also provides a ceiling fan which has air guide means for guiding outside fresh air in for circulation upon operation of the ceiling fan.
Abstract: A device suitable for switching large currents includes, within a gas filled envelope, an anode, electrodes and a thermionic cathode. Initially the device holds off a voltage until a triggering pulse is applied to an electrode. This cause an electron current to be established between the thermionic cathode and the anode. When the current reaches a sufficiently large value further conduction through the device occurs via current drawn from the surface of the electrode in a cold cathode mode, bypassing the cathode.

Abstract: An interrogator circuit (2) for use with a semi-passive transponder (30) of a type which reflectively modulates an incoming signal (28) is described. The circuit (2) comprises an antenna (4), a transistor (8), a matching network (6) connecting to the antenna (4) to an input of the transistor and means (12, 14) for operating the transistor such that it self-oscillates and radiates power (28) from the antenna (4) and simultaneously acts as a self-oscillating mixer to produce an output (40) which is representative of the modulation of a signal 32 received at the antenna. For an efficient conversion gain the reflection coefficient of the antenna (4) is configured to be low when the circuit is in a stable self-oscillating condition.
Abstract: A stackable case assembly includes a plurality of cases. Each of the cases includes an outer case portion and an inner case portion. The outer case portion has one end face provided with a projection, with the other end face provided with a recess such that the projection can engage a recess of an adjacent case to allow stacking of a plurality of cases. The outer case further has a hollow middle portion. Positioning holes are respectively formed at upper and lower ends of the middle portion on an inner side in specific positions. The inner case portion is shaped to match the middle portion of the outer case portion, and has upper and lower ends respectively provided with a pivot in specific positions such that the inner case portion can be disposed in the middle portion of the outer case portion with the pivots engaging the positioning holes to allow the inner case portion to turn pivotally. The inner case portion can be opened or closed from one side of the outer case portion.
