  • Patent number: 6550324
Abstract: A heating element (4) is arranged between two temperature sensors (5, 6) in order to measure the mass flow of a liquid or a gas. The mass flow is determined from the temperature difference of the temperature sensors (5, 6). The heating element (4) is operated by pulses in order to reduce power consumption of the device. A further reduction of the power consumption is reached by means of a monitoring circuit (12), which switches the actual measuring section (11) on only if the signals from the temperature sensors (5, 6) fulfil a threshold condition.

  • Patent number: 6549942
Abstract: A system for selection by a user and delivery to the user over an internetwork transmission channel of selected audio data files at a delivery rate of at least twice the delivery rate for normal, audibly perceptible playback of an audio data file. The user registers the user's selection of audio material with a central library of audio and/or text data files, and a digitized and optionally compressed omnibus file containing the user's selections is prepared and transmitted to the user at a high data transfer rate. The user receives downloads the selected data files to a personal computer or to a portable storage and playback unit (SPU) that may store and play back digitized text or audio data, using a docking station. The user carries this SPU until the user has an opportunity to audio process and play back the text or audio data files in audibly perceptible form.

  • Patent number: 6485550
Abstract: A self-sacrifice type metal corrosion inhibitor is prepared by dispersing one or more kinds of metal powder having a greater ionization tendency than that of a metal to be treated and a water-insoluble thermoplastic resin powder in water containing a water-soluble anticorrosion agent, a surface-active agent and a thickener to from a treatment solution. The treatment solution is applied to the surface of the metal to be treated, which is heated to melt the thermoplastic resin powder and form a thermoplastic resin layer fixed to the surface of the metal. It forms a metal corrosion-inhibiting layer fixed to the surface through the thermoplastic resin, which acts as an adhesive layer.

  • Patent number: 6481988
Abstract: First pivot bodies are received for rotation in first recesses in the housing member. A piston member is mounted in a eccentric portion of the drive shaft such to orbit in operation. Second pivot bodies are received for rotation in second recesses in the piston member. Dividing vanes are inserted at their ends in slots, formed in the first and second pivot bodies in a free floating manner such to reciprocate in operation of the engine. These vanes define a number of combustion chambers. The ends of the vanes received in the first pivot bodies of the housing member perform pivoting movements and the ends received in the second pivot bodies of the piston members perform orbiting movements. Thus, only small frictions and wear at the vanes in and the pivot bodies occur and the engine can be designed with small dimensions.

  • Patent number: 6402366
Abstract: The drum of the drum unit has a plurality of jacket walls. One jacket wall is designed as a freely pivotable lid. A cam disk is located in the drum. In certain positions the lid rests at its free end on the cam disk such that it is controlled by same. When the drum rotates in one direction, the cam disk blocks the lid in its open position such that an automatic discharging of the drum takes place. At a rotating in the opposite direction the lid remains closed due to its force of gravity, so that neither a manual manipulation nor operating apparatuses for a moving of the lid are needed.
