Abstract: Techniques are provided to reduce contention (interference) between bursts associated with multiple isochronous traffic flows. Generally, the techniques involve, at a plurality of wireless access point devices and/or a plurality of wireless client devices in a wireless network, initiating bursts of wireless transmissions carrying isochronous traffic from wireless access point devices to their associated client devices and/or from wireless client devices to their respective wireless access point devices at start times that are scheduled so as to reduce a likelihood of interference between multiple bursts of wireless transmissions for different isochronous traffic flows.

Abstract: A transconductor circuit used in a mixer for canceling second-order inter-modulation distortion includes a first transistor and a second transistor, of which the base (gate) ends coupled to a first input end and a second input end, for receiving a differential input signal; and a negative feedback circuit, of which the input end coupled to the emitter (source) ends of the first transistor and the second transistor, of which the out end coupled to the base (gate) ends of the first transistor and the second transistor, for adjusting the voltage of the base (gate) of the first transistor and the second transistor according to the difference between a reference voltage and the detected voltage of the emitter (source) of the first transistor and the second transistor.

Abstract: To increase effects of KAATSU training and improve safety thereof. A training system includes a tight fitting device 100 having an inflatable tube which is intended to be wrapped around a compression target range of an arm or a leg, a pressure regulating segment 200 that controls an applied pressure applied by the tight fitting device 100 to the compression target range by means of supplying air into the inflatable tube of the tight fitting device 100 or removing the air from the inflatable tube, a measuring segment 300, and a control segment 400. The measuring segment 300 measures a measurement target value which is one of a heart beat rate, a pulse wave value, and an oxygen saturation value, of a user who is receiving KAATSU training. When the measurement target value measured by the measuring segment 300 indicates that the KAATSU training should not be continued, then the control segment 400 notifies it to the pressure regulating segment 200 and terminates the KAATSU training.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for optimized cooperation between resource list servers and presence servers. The method including receiving a subscription request from a watcher, where the subscription request identifies a resource list and is a request to receive presence information regarding each of a plurality of presentities listed on the resource list, and generating a subscription request to a presence server for presence information regarding any presentity listed on the resource list only if no other currently-active subscription request is known by the resource list server to exist for presence information regarding the presentity.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a system and method of automatically generating weights for matching data records. Each field of a record may be compared by an exact match and/or close matches and each comparison can result in a mathematical score which is the sum of the field comparisons. To sum up the field scores accurately, the automatic weight generation process comprises an iterative process. In one embodiment, initial weights are computed based upon unmatched-set probabilities and default discrepancy weights associated with attributes in the comparison algorithm. A bulk cross-match is performed across the records using the initial weights and a candidate matched set is computed for updating the discrepancy probabilities. New weights are computed based upon the unmatched probabilities and the updated discrepancy probabilities. Test for convergence between the new weights and the old weights. Repeat with the new weight table until the weights converge to their final value.

Abstract: A method and device are provided for customizing a model entity presentation based on a presentation policy. The method comprises: applying the presentation policy to a first model to generate a presentation model; creating a model entity thereof according to the first model; reading model content from the first model and reading presentation data from the presentation model; and applying the read model content and presentation data to the model entity. The presentation model and core model of data are separated, and their association may be configured through a presentation policy in real-time during operation. The real-time and dynamic configuration of the method and device provide enhanced flexibility for users.

Abstract: An indexing stunt selector for a toy vehicle track set is provided. The indexing stunt selector may be disposed along a toy vehicle track and includes a first stunt element disposed in the vehicle pathway to cause a toy vehicle to perform a first stunt, where performance of a first stunt results in actuation of a first stunt trigger. The indexing stunt selector further includes a second stunt element adapted to be automatically disposed in the vehicle pathway following actuation of the first stunt trigger.

Abstract: A footrest for supporting the feet of a user above a floor is disclosed. The footrest comprises a platform having an upper surface for accommodating the feet of the user and a pair of planar portions extending downwardly from said generally flat portion. The platform is coupled to at least one support arm for supporting a portion of the platform in an elevated position relative to the floor. The at least one support arm having a first end dynamically coupled to a fulcrum whereby the support arm is biased towards a first position and moveable towards a second position responsive to a force being applied in use to the upper surface of the platform by the feet of the user.

Abstract: A toy water gun assembly is disclosed. The assembly includes a water gun and a filling station. The filling station connects to a water source such as a hose. The gun connects to the filling station such that, when connected, the trigger is secured in a locked stated, preventing the user from discharging the gun while mounted on the station. In operation, the gun is connected to the filling station until the water reservoir on the gun is filled. The gun is then released from the filling station by engaging a release lever or button. The gun is fully charged, with the water being pressurized during the filling process.

Abstract: Equipment and network resources are automatically tested in advance of scheduled telepresence meetings in order to discover problems before the actual telepresence meeting. When a meeting between telepresence sites is scheduled, a test time is automatically scheduled for performing a test in advance of a scheduled time of the telepresence meeting. At the test time, performing the test to determine whether equipment functions at telepresence sites involved in the telepresence meeting and network resource availability are sufficient to support the telepresence meeting.

Abstract: To prevent theft of protected content when IPTV services are provided, a conditional access device (CAD) is connected to a personal computer (PC). An application is launched on the PC from the CAD over universal serial bus (USB) interface. The application configures the PC to allow a user to receive secure internet protocol television (IPTV) services. The conditional access device and an IPTV service provider determine user access to the IPTV services via a network by using a trusted computing base (TCB) on the CAD and keys stored on the CAD. The application decrypts and decodes the IPTV services using the processing and storage capability of the PC. The CAD also receives and processes remote control signals received from a remote control interface. The remote control signals are requests or responses from the user interacting with the application. The application displays content requested by the user or indications of responses by the user via a user interface on the PC.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for comparing attributes of a data record are presented herein. In some embodiments, a weight is based on a comparison of the name (or other) attributes of data records. In some embodiments, an information score may be calculated for each of two name attributes to be compared to get an average information score for the two name attributes. The two name attributes may then be compared against one another to generate a weight between the two attributes. This weight can then be normalized to generate a final weight between the two business name attributes. Comparing attributes according to embodiments disclosed herein can facilitate linking data records even if they comprise attributes in languages which do not use the Latin alphabet.

Abstract: Link adaptive retransmission techniques are provided for use in connection with wireless communications between a first wireless communication device and a second wireless communication device. The first wireless communication device generates M packet error information values for the transmit session of a packet based on whether an acknowledgment message or a non-acknowledgment message is received from the second wireless communication device for a transmission and for previously sent transmissions even if less than M transmissions are sent by the first wireless communication device to the second wireless communication device upon completion of the transmit session. The first wireless communication device computes a retransmission fading margin based on the M packet error information values, from which an effective carrier-to-interference-plus-noise ratio is derived for selection of a modulation scheme.

Abstract: A technique for generating a data signal and a beacon signal for free space optical communications involves generating a data signal having a first optical wavelength and a beacon signal having a second optical wavelength. The data signal is encoded with data via modulation at a first modulation rate. The beacon signal is an inverted version of the data signal and can be further modulated at a second modulation rate that is less than the first modulation rate. The data and beacon signals are optically combined to produce a combined signal in which power attributable to the beacon signal is interleaved with and substantially non-overlapping temporally with power attributable to the data signal. The combined signal is amplified via a fiber amplifier, and the combined signal is supplied to transmitter optics for transmitting the data signal and the beacon signal into free space.

Abstract: According to one embodiment of the present invention, a system identifies and extracts data structures embedded within a data stream, and comprises a computer system including at least one processor. The system analyzes the data stream and identifies data structure definitions corresponding to analyzed data stream portions. The data structure definitions each define a structure of a corresponding data structure, and are configurable to accommodate various types of data structures within the data stream. The corresponding data structures within the data stream are generated by extracting information from the data stream in accordance with the data structure definitions. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and computer program product for identifying and extracting data structures embedded within a data stream in substantially the same manner described above.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for pressure infusion and temperature control of infused liquids includes a receptacle for receiving a liquid-filled bag containing intravenous solution or other liquid and an inflatable pressure device. The inflatable pressure device is disposed within a pressure device bag and is positioned proximate the liquid-filled bag in the receptacle. The inflatable pressure device expands within the pressure device bag upon inflation and exerts pressure on the liquid-filled bag. A heating element may be disposed on the inflatable pressure device bag to heat the liquid-filled bag to a desired temperature. The liquid may alternatively be maintained at a desired temperature, while flowing to a patient via a heating assembly disposed along a tube. The heating assembly includes a sleeve having a slot for receiving the tube and a plurality of individually controlled heaters.
