The screw (14) has a base portion (15) which is polygonal in cross section with an outer rim (16), and with a plastic part (1) which cooperates with the screw (14) and of which the lower portion (2) has an aperture (3) with an inner rim (4) adapted to the outer rim (16) of the base portion (15) and of which the upper portion (5) has recesses (6a, 6b, 6c, 6d, 6e, 6f) limited by pegs (7a, 7b; 7b, 7c; 7c, 7d; 7d, 7e; 7e, 7f; 7f, 7a) with an orifice (8) for receiving the cable holder (21). At least one peg (7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e, 7f) two adjacent pegs (7a, 7b; 7b, 7c; 7c, 7d; 7d, 7e; 7e, 7f; 7f, 7a) has at least one web (9a, 9b, 9c, 9d, 9e, 9f) which extends to the adjacent peg (7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e, 7f) and partially limits the orifice (8).
Abstract: A belt providing continuous lining up of plastics components held in a plastics web whereby components successively presented to an assembly position are then separated and utilized, having at least one guide element provided on each component whereby the component is located and positioned at the assembly position prior to separation of the component.
Abstract: To provide an adhesive fastener which has no need of a vacuum cup or a tab, an adhesive fastener 1 comprises a body member 2 and a tank member 3. The tank member 3 forms an adhesive container 10 in which adhesive material is contained. One end of the tank member is open but the other end is closed by a rigid end wall 13 and a frangible thin portion 14. The body member 2 has a plunger 18 which is slidably inserted from the opening side into the adhesive container 10 and forces out the adhesive from the frangible end, and an adhesive surface 22 which is formed outside the tank member so as to move together with the plunger and comes into contact with the surface of an attachment member to be bonded to the attachment member by means of the adhesive material. On the frangible end of the tank member, a protrusion 6 protruding axially outwardly is provided in the center or axis.
Abstract: A stud holder for a stud-welding device with a through-duct has an outlet orifice and a first holder with resilient holding fingers which extend in the longitudinal direction of the through-duct and each have, in the region of the outlet orifice, holding portions distributed round a periphery of the through-duct. The device further comprises at least one second holder with resilient holding fingers which extend in the longitudinal direction of the through-duct over a proportion of its length, each holding finger having, at one end region, a holding portion which rests on a circumference of the through-duct, the holding portions of the holding fingers of the second holder and optionally of each further holder ending before the holding portions of the holding fingers of the first holder.
Abstract: An insertion tool 48 is used to insert a threaded coil insert 26 into a threaded opening 22 of a support structure 20. The tool 48 includes a rotatable mandrel 50 having a first slot 62 for receiving a blade 76, the forward end of which is formed with a drive hook 94. The drive hook 94 is located in an end opening 64 of the mandrel 50 and is selectively movable through a second slot 66 formed in the mandrel. The first slot 64, the second slot 66 and the end opening 64 are in communication. The blade 76 is formed with a nib 78 which is normally biased into a chamber 112, but is selectively precluded from doing so by selective movement of a bushing 110 which is attached to an axially movable sleeve 102. As the threaded insert 26 is placed on a threaded end of the mandrel 50, the sleeve 102 is moved rearward to move the bushing 110 from engagement with the nib 78 whereby the biased nib moves into the chamber 112.
Abstract: To form a welded joint between a fastening means (1) and a structure (2), a fastening means (1) with a holder (3) and a connecting element (4) is proposed. The holder (3) essentially consists of an electrically insulating material. The connecting element (4) consists of a substantially electrically conductive material. The holder (3) substantially surrounds the connecting element (4). The connecting element (4) has a contact face (5) located inside the holder (3). The holder (3) has a through-orifice (6) at least partially overlapping the contact face (5). A contact piece (7) of an electrically operated welding device is introduced through the through-orifice (6).
Abstract: A plastic holder having a base and a journal formed thereon. The plastic holder further having a holding element. The holding element includes an articulating bore for receiving the journal of the base. The journal includes a smaller cross section than the articulating bore. The holding element is pivotable about the journal and positionable into a basic position and a locked position. The articulating bore partially resting on the journal when the holding element is in the locked position.
Abstract: A wedge assembly for supporting automotive doors, particularly pivoted tail gate doors and sliding van doors, which is mounted between surfaces that are not horizontal so that the load applied to the assembly includes a vertical component. The assembly includes a striker member and a wedge member, the former being mounted on the vertical side pillar of an automotive door frame, and the latter being mounted on the side pillar of a pivoted tail gate or sliding door. The assembly provides both vertical and lateral support for the door and door frame and prevents misalignment between the two which can otherwise develop over the life of the vehicle.
Abstract: In a welding method for the connection of a component (6) to a workpiece (7) by means of an arc between the component end and a welding point on the workpiece (7), the arc voltage is set and is monitored continuously during the welding process. The component lift is in each case automatically adjusted accordingly.
Abstract: A ball device for setting blind rivets is provided. The device features one or more rows of balls of at least three balls per row, and a taper section which cooperates with the balls to grip the mandrel of the blind rivet. Upon movement of the taper section, the balls dig into the mandrel to grip, and consequently pull the mandrel in the desired direction. The device features a longer life than similar devices utilizing jaws to grip the mandrel.

Abstract: A holding element comprising a base part (1) for arrangement on a carrier, a support member (2) for a component (4) and a damping element (3) is proposed for fastening at least one tubular component on a carrier. The base part and the holding part are connected to one another by at least on flexible web (5, 6), the damping element (3) being arranged between the base part (1) and the support member (2). The damping element surrounds the web (5, 6) completely as viewed in the circumferential direction of the web (5, 6).
Abstract: The invention relates to a mounting system with a fastening stud and a mounting part which can be applied to the fastening stud and has a receiving space for receiving the fastening stud, wherein the internal surface of the receiving space and the external peripheral surface of the fastening stud are frictionally connected to one another when the mounting part is applied and wherein the external peripheral surface has a structure with at least one substantially peripherally extending crest-like relief of dimensionally stable material and the internal surface has a structure with at least one relief of plastically deformable material extending substantially transversely to the peripheral direction. The radial elasticity of the fastening stud which is provided in any case by a slot is preferably increased by an additional axial aperture.
Abstract: The mandrel jamming area in a power-operated blind rivet tool is allowed to separate into sections under conditions in which mandrel jamming occurs, so that the jammed mandrels can be easily cleared from the area and the sections then rejoined for normal operation.

Abstract: To provide a press nut being capable of easily attaching and detaching the nut to and from a bolt by linearly pressing the nut along the bolt and by linearly drawing the nut along the bolt a press nut 1 has a nut body 2 of plastic, tubular cap 3 of plastic to receive the nut body thereinto to connect the nut body thereto, and a cover 6 to axially move the nut body in relative to the cap. The nut body 2 comprises a base 13, two threaded portions 15 having threaded inner walls to form a nut as a whole, and spring portions 14 to force the respective threaded portions to press them up from the base. The nut body is housed in the cap in the manner that the threaded portions are adjacent to a flange 10 of the cap 3 and the base is adjacent to an opening of the cap.
