Patent number: 6530727Abstract: The machining head for machining valve seats comprises a driving system, a housing, a carriage feed assembly, a cutting tip mounted on the carriage, and a counterweight assembly. The driving system rotates a machining head on a spindle axis, and further provides independent vertical translation of each of a driving arbor and a spindle, both of which are independent of the rotation of the spindle. The carriage has both forward and backward feed capability for moving the cutting tip radially inward or outward as it cuts. Vertical movement of the arbor is converted into force for moving the carriage by a cantilever pivoting around a fixed point. The counterweight assembly, linked to the arbor by a second cantilever, counterbalances the shift in weight caused by the movement of the carriage in order to maintain dynamic balancing as the machining head rotates.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2001Date of Patent: March 11, 2003Assignee: Harmand Family Limited PartnershipInventors: Brice Harmand, Pierre Harmand

Patent number: 6163711Abstract: A hands-free adapter for interfacing a mobile phone handset with an existing audio system attaches to the handset by means of the accessory connectors that are generally located on the bottom or back of the handset. The adapter modulates the received audio from an in-coming call with a pre-selected FM or AM carrier frequency, and broadcasts the resulting, low power signal to the antenna of a receiver of the existing audio system, which may include a home stereo system, a portable stereo system, or a vehicle radio. The receiver is tuned to the carrier frequency used by the adapter so that the in-coming audio from the mobile phone can be heard over the audio system speakers. For Radio Data System (RDS)-capable radio receivers, a processor is provided within the adapter to generate channel data, which is then transmitted with the carrier signal. The RDS-capable radio receives the RDS signal and automatically tunes itself to the selected channel.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 1997Date of Patent: December 19, 2000Assignee: Nokia Mobile Phones, LTDInventors: Esa Juntunen, Tapio Laurila

Patent number: RE38062Abstract: Pre-fired ceramic substrates are elected according to the desired electrical performance of the filter. If necessary for enhanced performance, the surfaces of the substrate may be lapped to assure that their top and bottom surfaces are parallel and their surface finish is smooth. The top surface of a lower layer is coated with a conductive film using thick film techniques then patterned to define the filter trace pattern. For precise dimensional control, photolithographic techniques may be used. The bottom and the sides of the lower layer are coated with the same conductive film. A seal glass which has a coefficient of thermal expansion which is matched as closely as possible to that of the ceramic substrate is screen printed onto the top surface of the lower layer. The top of the upper layer is screen printed with the conductive film and the bottom of the upper layer is coated with the seal glass. The upper and lower layers are bonded together by clamping them together and firing the seal glass.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 1996Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: StratEdge CorporationInventors: Napoleon A.
