  • Patent number: 6015430
Abstract: A prosthesis for use in preventing restenosis after angioplasty is formed of plastic or sheet metal, and is expandable and contractible for placement. The prosthesis can be inserted while in a collapsed position, then expanded and locked at the larger diameter. Spring force can be provided by the material itself, or metal springs can be embedded within the walls of the prosthesis. Preferably, the walls have holes therethrough to promote tissue growth; and, in one embodiment, the holes are in the form of slots so that the prosthesis is segmented and can bend longitudinally. In a further embodiment the angioplasty stent is fitted with an internal fabric liner of substantially the same longitudinal dimensions as the stent. It is adhesively secured to the internal wall of the stent at selected points whereby the liner may have longitudinal fold or folds and may then be expanded as the stent is expanded after being positioned.

  • Patent number: 6007436
Abstract: The present invention is to a projected laser beam in a method for aligning a golf ball prior to hitting it with a golf club and a method for determining the proper feet position of a golfer prior to that golfer's hitting the golf ball. The laser beam is used to project a linearly extending light path across the ball. The laser has suitable optical means to also project a second light beam parallel to the first linearly extending light path and horizontally displaced therefrom. Additionally, the laser assembly includes a third light path that intersects the first and second light paths. The golfer may position his/her feet on either side of the intersecting light path. The laser is manually manipulated so that the first path of light is aligned in the direction of the pin at the end of the fairway.

  • Patent number: 5938519
Abstract: Poultry are thoroughly cleaned after being sequentially treated along a conventional endless poultry line by the post poultry washer of the present invention. The device consists of a two rows of vertical conduits at oppositably disposed positions with vertically staggered spray nozzles. Special detailed three member vertical baffles are positioned in back of the said spray nozzles. The baffles and associated spray nozzles cause a vortex of spray washer water to encircle each fowl that is moved through the post poultry washer apparatus wherein the wash water collectively contact all exposed surfaces of the carcass.

  • Patent number: 5913367
Abstract: An aircraft penetrating nozzle comprises a penetrator which has a harden tip. The penetrator functions to open a passageway in a barrier or skin of an aircraft to permit the aircraft penetrating nozzle to pass thereinto. The penetrator is securely attached to a frustum which comprises a plurality of nozzles which disperse fire extinguishing fluids interior to the aircraft perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the aircraft penetrating nozzle and forward of the perpendicular. The frustum is securely attached to a shank which comprises at least one rotating nozzle which functions to disperse fire extinguishing fluid, in fog form, sideways to the aircraft penetrating nozzle which is fore and aft in the aircraft. The aircraft penetrating nozzle is attached to a boom and a fire extinguishing fluid source.

  • Patent number: 5902965
Abstract: In an electronic balance for loading having a balance scale (3) weighing system, display (19), control keyboard (21 to 26) and a digital processing electronic circuitry in which circuitry at least one memory is present for the weighed value shown in the display (19). A first additional key (25) is present in the control keyboard (21 to 26) upon the actuation of the key the weighed value shown in the display (19) and stored in the digital signal processing electronics is decreased and upon the first actuation of the key the weighed value displayed immediately previously is taken in addition into a first additional memory. Furthermore, a second additional key (24) is present in the control keyboard (21 to 26) upon whose actuation the weighed value displayed in the display (19) is taken into a second additional memory. By means of the decreasing key the balance operator can decreased the display from the too large actual value step-by-step to the correct theortical value.
