Abstract: There is disclosed an electric balance with a sensor (2), a digital signal processing unit (4), a digital display (5) and switching means (6) which suppress the leading zeros in the digital display by a control means (7) which activates and deactivates the switching means (6) for suppressing leading zeros as a function of the sign of the result of measuring. In this manner, a change of sign can be signaled more clearly. It is also possible to display more leading zeros as the magnitude of the deviation of the result of measuring from the value zero increases so that the leading zeros appear in several stages, starting from zero up to a set measuring value.

Abstract: The gravimetric control of a mass flow from or into a container located on a balance using a pulsating dosing pump, the output signal of the balance is digitally filtered in such a manner that the course in time of the mass flow is cyclically estimated from the filtered wighing signal. This estimated value of the course in time of the mass flow is used to calculate the course in time of an auxiliary mass flow which compensates the pulsation of the mass flow of the pulsating dosing pump and a speed course is calculated from the course in time of the auxiliary mass flow for driving an auxiliary dosing pump.

Abstract: This planetarium is remarkable in that it comprises a sphere (5) consisting of two separate hemisphere (1-2) with diametrically opposed planes facing each other, defining between them a space (e) which can be varied as required, the said hemispheres being joined together by means of connection located at their centre, these being attached to a means (6) located between the two hemispheres, having at least a fixing function in relation to a supporting structure, the said hemispheres being capable, by virtue of their supports, of assuming different positions along the 3 geometrical axes, without any encroachment by the said structure during the projection of the flux onto the vault; the said hemispheres being equipped with means permitting the projection of a luminous flux onto the vault of the planetarium room, and means (11-T) representing certain celestial bodies.

Abstract: A tape cassette assembly consisting of support mountings being specially disposed and based on a casing, the support mountings adapted for rotating a take up reel and a supply reel, a two state stable device mounted on the casing interpositioned between the take up reel and the supply reel, and including an articulated member positionable to indicate alternative states of stability, a follower mounted on the articulated member adapted for engagement with the tape filled on the take up reel or on the supply reel as one of the reels approaches a fill condition, and positive displacement member for the two state stable device for displacing the two state stable device from one alternative state of stability to another alternative state.

Abstract: An automobile antitheft device having a locking rod that locks the parking lock pawl of an automatic transmission in a position where it engages and locks a parking pawl gear. The locking rod is spring biassed so that it automatically becomes engaged when the automatic transmission is placed into Park. A separate lever is actuated and used to withdraw the locking rod from locking the pawl. The locking rod is provided with a transverse groove to prevent unlocking of the transmission except when the transmission is in Park. The device is also provided with an electric switch and regulator which is operatively coupled to the locking rod as is electrically connected between the fuel injectors and the car's computer.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing discrete lengths of longitudinally corrugated strips of wiping web material from a source of uncorrugated continuous length wiping material. In the device the web material is payed through and between converging longitudinally disposed projections whereby the corrugations are formed. The corrugated web is then fed between cogwheels, then to an egress part of the dispenser through which the web projects for a distance. The cogwheels may be provided with a servering means. To dispense the web projecting from the dispenser it is pulled outwardly resulting in obtaining a desired severed length of wiping material.

Abstract: An identification tag is physically associated with a surgical specimen for accurate identification of the specimen. The tag remains in place through the laboratory to allow accurate identification of specimen and patient. The tag has a hole to receive a staple for stapling to solid tissue, and is flexible to be rolled and inserted into a vial with a liquid specimen or a semi-fluid specimen. The tags are prepared in advance of surgery and are available for rapid association with specimens in the operating room.

Abstract: In a vent-free single-duct drainage piping system for vertical installation in multi-storied buildings with horizontally extending branches to receive drain from sources of different floors of the building installed, a joint for connecting vertical pipe sections of the drainage piping system is disclosed, which comprises an upper pipe portion having a spiral axis between opposite end portions thereof and adapted for connection to the upstream side of the vertical drainage system to receive drain therfrom. A lower pipe portion is comprised of a first vertical passage connected in direct fluid flow relationship with the upper pipe portion and a second vertical passage having at a side thereof side ports adapted for connection to horizontal drainage pipes laid at a particular floor of the building. The first vertical passage receives drain from the upper pipe portion and the second vertical passage receives drain from the horizontal pipes.

Abstract: In a method and a device for preventing or breaking down a filter covering layer during the filtration of liquids with finely distributed constitutents therein in a cross-flow operation in which the liquid to be treated is conducted in a narrow overflow slot (SP) between a filter surface (PM) and a slot limiter surface (FM), the slot limiter surface (FM) is brought adhesively into areal contact with the developing filter covering layer (DS) in a periodic manner by means of relative motion relative to the filter surface (PM) and the filter covering layer (DS) is removed in a rinsing fashion from the filter surface (PM) by reactivating the overflow slot (SP) and overflowing the filter surface (PM) and the slot limiter surface (FM). The movable wall is formed by a foil membrane consisting of plastic which is clamped on the edge in a sealing manner in a surrounding housing.

Abstract: An electronic balance with a housing, a balance scale, a wind guard which at least partially surrounds the balance scale and with a display and control unit approximately in the plane of the balance scale. The display and control unit is mounted to the hosing in a manner that it can pivot around the wind guard about at least one vertical axis. This allows the balance to better adapt to various work positions of the operator. Further possibilities of adaptation result from the weighing-area opening of a rotationally symmetrical wind guard which opening can be adjusted as desired and also from the possibility of laterally shifting the display and control unit and/or from the possibility of rotating it about a vertical axis within the display and control unit and/or from the possibility of tilting it about a horizontal axis.

Abstract: A variable control device accessory for a music synthesizer having a horizontally disposed keyboard. The device is positioned in front of the keyboard. It has a plurality of movable bars, at least of one of which is capable of being pivotally and slidably moved by the wrist of a player while all the others are only slidable. The bars modulate selected light beams focussed on light responsive mechanisms to produce variably dependent analog signals as inputs to the music synthesizer.
