  • Patent number: 6249215
Abstract: A process and an arrangement for shutting down a vehicle by means of a shut-down signal is the result of a shut-down request. During a vehicle-side analysis, a conclusion is drawn from a current vehicle operating condition and/or a current vehicle location according to defined criteria regarding a shut-down site which is safe with respect to traffic and/or a traffic-safe shut-down site is recognized, in which case the shut-down signal is not generated before the current vehicle operating condition represents a traffic-safe shut-down site and/or before the current vehicle location corresponds to a traffic-safe shut-down site.

  • Patent number: 6247932
Abstract: The case (1) comprises a receptacle (41) with two detachably interconnected receptacle parts (42, 43). The receptacle (41) contains a dental implant (11) and a holder (61). The dental implant (11) has an anchoring section (15) designed to be anchored in a bone, i.e., an outside thread, and an outer section (16) indented to jut out from the bone. The holder (61) engages the outer section (16) of the dental implant (11) and detachably secures it using clamping and/or locking means (67). The dental implant (11) and the holder (61) are connected to each other by anti-rotation means (31, 72) preventing rotations around a common axis (13). Once the case has been opened (41), the holder (61) can be gripped manually or using a tool or instrument and the dental implant (11) held by the holder (61) can be inserted into a bone in the mouth of a patient by screwing, pushing or pressing said implant into the bone.

  • Patent number: 6247751
Abstract: The invention relates to a seat, particularly a vehicle seat, having a cushion support and a cushion which is supported on the cushion support. The cushion has a seat surface and an edge area surrounding this surface and is composed of a cubical cushion body which encompasses the seat surface and of a foamed-to-shape edge part which rests on the lateral surfaces of the cushion body and fills the edge area. This provides optimal seat pressure distribution and the air-conditioned sitting comfort, while reducing the required proportion of manual work. The cushion support, which accommodates the cushion body as well as the edge part, is constructed in an air-permeable manner and the other hand, the cushion body consists of an air-permeable nonwoven material, while the edge part is manufactured of polyurethane foam or another material having the same characteristics, and is connected with cushion body.

  • Patent number: 6248219
Abstract: A problem which occurs in the sputtering of a substance by means of a high-frequency discharge between two electrodes, is that both electrode surfaces are sputtered away when the electrode surface that is actually not to be sputtered is not at least ten times as large as the surface of the electrode carrying the substance. To prevent an undesirable cosputtering, in on embodiment, a vacuum recipient at a selected gas pressure has first and a second electrodes which are selected so that their surface areas form a ratio RA 12 such that 0.3≦RA12≦3. A discharge space in the vacuum recipient is confined to the electrode surfaces. An RF plasma discharge is generated in the discharge space by applying an electric RF field between the electrode surface, so that a first dark space region with a first drop of time-averaged electric potential and a second dark space region with a second drop of time-averaged electric potential, are respectively provided adjacent each electrode.

  • Patent number: 6244249
Abstract: A fuel injection diesel internal-combustion engine, having a fuel injection nozzle and having a spring chamber for the pressure spring acting upon the nozzle needle. The spring chamber is constructed as a closed chamber without a leak oil connection and forms a space which is under a fuel pressure. The spring chamber fills with fuel, by way of a slide guide for the pressure linkage of the nozzle needle constructed as a throttling point. As the fuel pressure in the spring chamber rises above an operating pressure corresponding to the control position of the injection pump for the defined driving condition, the delivery time of the pump is prolonged for compensating the lowering of the injection quantity connected with the pressure rise in the spring chamber.

  • Patent number: 6244050
Abstract: A method and apparatus regulates the pressure in the intake duct of an internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine has a control unit, in which a desired pressure value is determined. The current pressure in the intake duct is adjusted to the desired value by a valve device, and the valve device is acted upon by an actuating signal from the control unit. In order to build up the pressure in the intake duct with a suitable dynamic response for each load state, particularly when using a number of valve devices, the actuating signal is used as a control signal, as a function of a relative desired pressure valve, from a control characteristic map stored in the control unit. A controller signal produced in a controller is superimposed on the control signal if required.

  • Patent number: 6244231
Abstract: In order to supply a sufficient quantity of lubricating oil to the entire valve operating mechanism, we designed a lubrication device for an overhead valve engine. A first breather passage goes from the valve operating mechanism chamber to the crankcase, passing through the cylinder head and cylinder. The first breather passage opens in the vicinity of the spring retainer for the intake valve on the surface of the cylinder head which faces the valve operating mechanism chamber for the valve operating mechanism. The opening of the first passage and the vicinity of the exhaust valve are connected by a second breather passage. This second passage comprises a groove formed by cutting in the valve operating mechanism chamber surface of the cylinder head, and a tunnel formed between an oil guide wall which goes up from the valve operating mechanism chamber surface of the cylinder head and the peripheral wall of the head. One end of this groove connects to the opening of the first breather passage.

  • Patent number: 6246945
Abstract: In a process and a system for controlling the longitudinal dynamics of a motor vehicle, a drive train actuating signal is determined from actual vehicle condition data, controller-internal desired longitudinal velocity values, and desired longitudinal acceleration values determined by means of fed input data concerning the desired longitudinal acceleration and the actual driving condition. According to the invention, as a function of the controller-internal desired longitudinal velocity values and desired longitudinal acceleration values as well as of actual driving condition data, by means of an inverse characteristic vehicle longitudinal dynamics diagram, a desired drive train actuating signal is determined and the drive train actuating signal is determined therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6244952
Abstract: A ventilation assembly for installing in the dashboard of a motor vehicle has having a housing which has an air-inlet opening for fitting on an air-feed duct and also two air-outlet openings which are arranged one above the other in the installation position and lie in two planes at an angle to each other. Two air ducts are formed in the housing, each connecting one of the two air-outlet openings to the air-inlet opening. The quantities of air flowing into the two air ducts is metered. The end side of the lower air duct which leads to the lower air-outlet opening encloses the air-inlet opening, and the upper air duct, which leads to the upper air-outlet opening, encloses a wall opening in the lower air duct. The air-quantity is metered by a pivotable air-discharge flap which is assigned to the wall opening and is arranged in the lower duct in such a manner that its pivot axis lies on that side of the wall opening which is remote from the air-inlet opening.
