Abstract: The method and system enable secure forwarding of a message from a first computer to a second computer via an intermediate computer in a telecommunication network. A message is formed in the first computer or in a computer that is served by the first computer, and in the latter case, sending the message to the first computer. In the first computer, a secure message is then formed by giving the message a unique identity and a destination address. The message is sent from the first computer to the intermediate computer after which the destination address and the unique identity are used to find an address to the second computer. The current destination address is substituted with the found address to the second computer, and the unique identity is substituted with another unique identity. Then the message is forwarded to the second computer.
Abstract: The method is for directing light in a fluorescent piece. Sequentially placed wedge-shaped pieces form a multiple-piece arrangement. Each piece has a base surface and a sloping top surface so that there is a first pointed end at one end and a short end surface at a second opposite end thereof. The pieces are exposed to light beams that hit fluorescent particles disposed inside the pieces. As a result, the particles emit a fluorescent light that are reflected off the inner surfaces of each piece as long as the light beams do not hit the surface at a perpendicular angle. The light beams are directed to penetrate the short end of each piece to form a continuous illuminated surface.
Abstract: The method increases the yield and improves the beatability of kraft pulp. During the progression of the cooking process, more than one cooking liquor with a dissolved content of hemicellulose is drawn off and then reintroduced to the last phases of the cooking process, to re-precipitate the hemicellulose on the fibers. The hemicellulose rich cooking liquors are adjusted so that they, upon being added to the last phase of the cooking process are optimized. Early dissolved hemicellulose has a longer chain length than the hemicellulose that dissolves in the cooking liquor in the later phases of the cooking process, and they also have different tendencies to precipitate on the wood chips softened in the cooking process.

Abstract: The method is for rendering an object. An object to be rendered is identified. An outline of the object is defined. A front plate of the object is identified. A back plate that is shifted relative to the front plate is created. A beveled side extending between the front plate and the back plate is identified. A beveled contour of the beveled side from a series of segments of edges is created. A boundary line between visible and non-visible segments of surfaces is identified.
Abstract: The method is for the identification and characterization of structures in electron micrographs. Structures in a first image are selected. The structures have a first shape type deformed in a first direction. The selected structures are transformed to a second shape type different from the first shape type. The transformed structures of the second shape type are used to form a plurality of templates. A new structure in a second image is identified. The new structure has the first shape type. The second shape type structure of each template is deformed in the first direction. It is determined which template is a preferred template that best matches the new structure.
Abstract: The method and system relate to reducing the content of hazardous chemicals when handling malodorous gases emanating from a pulp mill and before burning said malodorous gases in final incineration equipment in oxygen excess environment in order to oxidize the sulphur compounds. The flow of malodorous gases is transported to final incineration (C2) by using liquid ring pumps. The hazardous chemical, preferably ammonia, is bound or dissolved in the liquid used in the liquid ring pump. A part of the liquid used in the liquid ring pump is bled off to final destruction different than the final incineration equipment in oxygen excess environment.
Abstract: The method is for intracellular counting and segmentation of viral particles in an image. An image is provided that has a plurality of items therein. A radius range of viral particles is determined. Round items in the image having a radius within the predetermined radius range are identified. Elliptical items that are formable from the predetermined radius range are determined. The round and elliptical items identified into groups are sorted. The viral particles among the round and elliptical items are identified. For example, the method may be used for intracellular counting and segmentation of siRNA treated human cytomegaloviral particles in TEM images.
Abstract: A cell is provided that contains a plurality of virus particles. A first image of a first virus particle and a second image of a second virus particle are taken by electron microscopy technology. The first virus particle is characterized as being in a first maturity stage and the second virus particle as being in a second maturity stage. The first image and the second image are transformed to first and second gray scale profiles, respectively, based on pixel data. The first and second gray scale profiles are then saved as first and second templates, respectively. A third virus particle in a third image is identified. The third image is transformed into a third gray scale profile. The third gray scale is compared to the first and second template to determine a maturity stage of the third virus particle.
Abstract: The method is for forest inventory and for determination of stand attributes. Stand information of trees, sample plots, stands and larger forest areas can be determined by measuring or deriving the most important attributes for individual trees. The method uses a laser scanner and overlapping images. A densification of the laser point clouds is performed and the achieved denser point clouds are used to identify individual trees and groups of trees. A computer program is used for performing the method.

Abstract: The system and method reduce the liquid/wood ratio at the top of a vapor phase digester in a continuous digester plant. Chips that are to be cooked in the vapor phase digester are fed as a mixture of chips and liquid at a liquid/wood ratio that exceeds 8:1 in a transfer line to an inverted top separator arranged at the top of the vapor phase digester. The top separator feeds the chips upwardly. More than 50% of the liquid content of the mixture of chips and liquid is withdrawn in the top separator and the remaining liquid is fed out from the top separator to the top of the vapor phase digester. A pile of chips and a liquid volume are established at the top, wherein the pile of chips is disposed above the liquid surface of the liquid volume.
Abstract: A refining segment intended for refiners of disc-type for working fibrous material. A first portion has a first pattern of coarse bars and a second portion has a second pattern of fine bars. The second portion is positioned outside the first portion. The second pattern has a higher density of bars than the first pattern. The refining segment has a deflector arrangement protruding from a bar surface of the coarse bar. The bar surface faces the rotational direction. The deflector arrangement has a deflector surface directing a flow of fibrous material away from the bar surface. A refining apparatus has two opposing rotatable refining discs, separated by a refiner gap. At least one of the two refining discs has the above described patterns and deflector arrangements.
Abstract: The provisioning content in a device management system facilitates provisioning of mobile devices with contents of non-applicable formats for provisioning in a module therein in a device management system in a mobile network infrastructure. The system has a device management application and repositories. Capabilities of a mobile device are checked from one or more repositories of the device management system.
