  • Patent number: 4903549
Abstract: A hydraulic control system for an automatic transmission comprises a one-way valve arranged between a hydraulic line leading to a second speed apply chamber of a band brake and a hydraulic line leading to a fourth speed apply chamber of the band brake in such a manner as to allow fluid communication between them when a pressure dfferential takes place. The pressure differential takes place when the transmission upshifts from the first speed ratio to fourth speed ratio. Thus, during the 1-4 shift, a pressure build-up in the fourth speed apply chamber takes place in the same manner as a pressure build-up taking place in the second speed apply chamber under the control of a 1-2 accumulator valve.

  • Patent number: 4862233
Abstract: Vertical MOS and another component such as CMOS are made in a single semiconductor substrate having a highly doped underlying layer and a lightly doped epitaxial surface layer of a first conductivity type. The vertical MOS includes a channel region of a second conductivity type, formed in the surface layer, and a source region of the first conductivity type, formed in the channel region. The channel region is made deep and joined with the highly doped underlying layer to form a first Zener diode for regulating a drain-source voltage. A drain electrode is formed on the bottom surface of the substrate and connected to a power supply, and a topside source electrode is connected to a load. The vertical MOS is surrounded, and separated from the CMOS, by a grounded guard ring region of the second conductivity type, formed in the surface layer. The guard ring region is also made deep and joined with the underlying layer.

  • Patent number: 4846843
Abstract: An inner hand as an orthopedic fitting part of thermoplastic for accommodating a hand mechanism is disclosed. The inner hand has an annular groove which is made on the end portion of the hand and into which a ring which fixes the inner hand on the hand mechanism is inserted. To improve the functioning of the inner hand, a two-component sandwich design is proposed, the utilization region of at least the thumb and index finger being harder than the remaining hand element.

  • Patent number: 4833059
Abstract: A developing method for converting an electrostatic latent image on the surface of an electrostatic latent image holder into a visible image by arranging the electrostatic latent image holder for holding the electrostatic latent image thereon and a toner conveyor for conveying non-magnetic one-component type toner thereon an extremely small space apart from each other; applying the non-magnetic one-component type toner onto the toner conveyor; and transferring the toner to the electrostatic image holder, satisfies the following requirements: the aforesaid developing agent is composed of non-magnetic type toner; the frictional charge quantity relative to the surface of the non-magnetic type toner is +30 100 .mu.C; and fluidity is 5 g or less in terms of the toner amounting to 20 g but remaining on a 100-mesh sieve after it has been vibrated at a rate of 3,000 V.P.M. and an amplitude of 1 mm for 30 seconds.

  • Patent number: 4814950
Abstract: The automotive headlight of projector type comprises a reflector, a lamp bulb as light source disposed near the focus of said reflector, a convex lens which projects frontwardly the light emitted from the lamp bulb, reflected by the reflector and then converged to a predetermined light collecting area, and a light transmitting means device through which the light is projected directly and frontwardly from the lamp bulb. The light emitted directly from the lamp bulb is positively projected frontwardly through the light transmitting device without passing through the convex lens. Therefore, the zones surrounding the illuminated zone are blurred. The luminous intensity of the zone near the boundary between the illuminated and non-illuminated zones can be gradually decreased going outwardly away from the projector axis into the non-illuminated zone without any influence on the illumination distribution of the zone illuminated by the light projected through the convex lens.

  • Patent number: 4809181
Abstract: Automotive brake control is performed by controlling brake pressure at front and rear wheels independently. The braking force at each of the front and rear wheels is controlled in accordance with monitored vehicle driving conditions so that the steering characteristics of the vehicle are held to predetermined characteristics even when vehicular brakes are applied during cornering. The braking pressure at front wheels is decreased when understeer characteristics increases due to braking. On the other hand, the braking pressure at the rear wheel is decreased when oversteer characteristics increases due to braking.

  • Patent number: 4807948
Abstract: A cupboard, more particularly a bathroom cupboard, contains a housing consisting of at least two profiled parts which are joined together in a corner-area at an angle of less than 180.degree.. The purpose of the invention is to make it possible to build the cupboard at low production and assembly costs and without the use of corner connections. The profiled parts consist of a single initially straight profiled rail in which, for the purpose of producing the relevant corner-area, a cut is made from the outside. Located in the vicinity of the inside of the corner-area is a continuous strap which joins the profiled parts together, a clamping element being inserted into the gap obtained upon bending.
