  • Patent number: 6442900
Abstract: The sliding door is secured by a locking mechanism in a closed position wherein the sliding panel is held against a frame. When the locking mechanism is released, the weight of the sliding door causes the panel to move away from the frame while tilting the wheels in which the sliding panel slides into tilted positions. The panel is then free to roll along guide rails on the tilted wheels. When in the closed position, seals on the movable panel seal against the frame. During travel of the panel, the seals are in spaced relation to the frame.

  • Patent number: 6418827
Abstract: The perforating machine is provided with a perforating roll having a perforating bar and a base roll below the perforating roll which can be moved between a raised position and a retracted position. In the raised position, the base roll allows the perforating bar to perforate a web passing between the two rolls. In the retracted position, the base roll lowers the web away from the perforator roll so that a perforation is not effected. A programmer is also provided to program the motion of the base roll so as to adjust the centerline to centerline spacing of the lines of perforations in the web. The perforator roll is also driven by a transmission employing elliptical gears so that the perforator roll is accelerated prior to perforating the web and decelerated thereafter. The machine may also be used to cut the web into a series of panels rather than simply perforating the web.

  • Patent number: 6402635
Abstract: The force plate data acquisition system measures, processes and analyzes the vertical reaction forces and various weight shifts between the ground and a golfer's feet during a swing. Plates are supported on cantilever beams through ball bearings. The beams are attached to a rigid frame and instrumented with strain gauges configured in a Wheatstone half bridge arrangement. An eight-channel strain gauge data acquisition board in a central processing unit records strain information. Data collection can be independent or controlled by a motion analysis system to provide synchronous foot force and video information. A set of BASIC programs collect strain readings from the foot plates, process the data, relate beam deflections to applied load and plots reaction force and weight shift information to the computer screen. Graphs produced are total vertical reaction force, foot-to-foot weight shift, heel-to-toe weight shift, outside-to-instep weight shift and the speeds of each.

  • Patent number: 6385791
Abstract: The pool cover is made of multi-layer light weight construction having a translucent top layer to permit sunlight to pass through an opaque bottom layer for absorbing sunlight passing through the transparent layer. In addition, a plurality of pockets are formed in the opaque layer having air encapsulated therein. When in use, the opaque layer becomes heated by sunlight thereby transferring heat by contact to the body of the water in the pool while also blocking light from the body of water to inhibit algae growth. The heated trapped air also serves to conduct heat to the body of water while also acting as a thermal insulation barrier during non-daylight hours. The pool cover may also be turned upside down in use. In other embodiment, all layers may be opaque.

  • Patent number: 6361190
Abstract: An enlarged surface LED lighting device having an interior reflector disposed and configured to reflect the light emitted by a LED element to increase the divergence of the light and form an interior reflected light. The interior reflector is typically a surface of revolution about the pattern axis configured to reflect and bend the light away from the axis of the spatial radiation pattern of the emitted light. The interior reflector is also formed to Increase the transfer of heat away from the LED element. The interior reflector is usually disposed in close proximity to the LED element to maximize the percentage of emitted light it redirects. The lighting device additionally includes an exterior reflector also normally a surface of revolution about the pattern axis.

  • Patent number: 6325027
Abstract: The bearing arrangement includes an annular flange provided with a groove, a holder disposed on a fixed axis opposite the groove and a hollow shell-shaped sphere mounted between the holder and the groove in the annular flange. The sphere is elastically deformable so that loads imposed on the bearing arrangement, for example, by a reciprocating piston rod of an internal combustion engine, can be spread over a large area as the sphere elastically deforms.

  • Patent number: 6314655
Abstract: The ball sizing device has an angularly disposed support which defines a square-shaped space for receiving a dimpled golf ball. The two lowermost walls defining the space receive the ball in point-to-point contact. Each of the two opposite walls has a gauge mounted thereon with a spring loaded pin for engaging the ball in point-to-point contact. Each gauge serves to measure a deviation of the diameter of a ball from a standard diameter. The readings from the gauges are processed in a central processing unit in order to obtain a statistical average of the diameter of the ball. A standardizing cylinder is separately mounted on the sizing device in order to calibrate the two gauges to a zero reading and to provide a standard diameter value to the central processing unit.

  • Patent number: 6306016
Abstract: The notch polishing machine employs a plurality of polishing tapes which can be sequentially introduced into the notch of a wafer to polish both sides of the notch, i.e. the top and bottom surfaces. Each tape is pulled off a supply reel and passed into a mounting block sized to fit into the wafer notch. Each block is also mounted to be oscillated to effect a polishing action. Also, all the blocks are mounted in common to be pivoted between a position angularly disposed relative to the top of the top of the wafer and a position angularly disposed relative to the bottom of the wafer.
