Abstract: A toy flip cap adapted to be sailed through the air by means of placing the cap between the thumb and the middle finger and then snapping the fingers, the cap thus being flipped outwardly to travel along various flight paths. The flip cap comprises an annular body defined by a substantially flat top wall having a flared peripheral depending wall. The peripheral wall is the portion of the cap that is held between the thumb and the middle finger, and it is designed to provide an aerodynamic lift by the force resulting from the snapping of the fingers.
Abstract: An improved refuse-extruder-and-compactor apparatus adapted for general use in the transporting and transferring of solid-waste materials in combination with a refuse-transport vehicle, the apparatus being positioned within the storage container of the vehicle so as to provide a more compact load as well as a means for effectively discharging a load therefrom. The apparatus comprises a vertically disposed blade which includes a linearly arranged guide system to keep the blade in a vertically balanced load situation. The blade is moved by a combination chain-sprocket-drive system coupled to the guide system, said guide system including a rack mechanism whereby the blade is reciprocally moved within the storage container for either compacting or discharging the load therein.
Abstract: An underwater-breathing device which combines the use of a snorkel with a scuba regulator to allow a skin diver to readily switch back and forth from the regulator to the snorkel as he alternates from deep diving to surfacing with his head submerged just a few inches below water surface, the breathing device comprising a two-way-selection valve having a mouthpiece formed therewith, and the valve being adapted to receive and connect to a scuba regulator at one point thereof and to a snorkel tube at a second point, whereby the diver can selectively employ either the scuba regulator or the snorkel by positioning the valve core within the valve housing.
Abstract: A power-operated smoking device comprising a housing having a bowl adapted to receive a cup therein, wherein the tobacco to be smoked is placed in the removable cup. Positioned adjacent the bowl and communicating therewith is an air chamber through which air is drawn from the bowl portion by a fan mechanism, the smoke then being forced through the outlet stem of the pipe. The housing also includes a lower body section arranged to receive the fan motor and a power supply unit, the outlet stem being arranged to support an extended mouthpiece whereby a person directly receives the smoke therefrom.
Abstract: A size-adjustable jump-rope exercising apparatus comprising a framework structure having a substantially "H"-shaped configuration wherein the framework is formed having spaced, parallel, longitudinally extended, side-frame members. The frame members are connected together intermediate their free ends by a transverse strut member by which the width of the apparatus can be adjusted and which includes gripping handles whereby the user thereof holds the apparatus for rotation about the longitudinal axis of the strut member when the strut member is positioned in a horizontal mode. Mounted at each free end of the side member is an elongated rod member adjustably mounted longitudinally therein and a flexible rope which is looped across from the outer end of one rod member to the other, defining a closed-loop, jump structure having dual jumping ends.
Abstract: A charcoal-starter apparatus that is a disposable, folding, charcoal-starting, bag-like container, wherein the bag-like container comprises a continuous upright wall structure, preferably having four sides composed of multilayers of thin aluminum foil sheets and a bottom wall formed from a burnable paper or suitable synthetic material, wherein a metal wire or ribbon is disposed about the upper open edge of the container to define a support structure, the upright wall structure being formed with an outer aluminum wall and an inner aluminum wall, wherein the inner aluminum wall defines a heat-reflective member that prevents the outer aluminum wall from being affected by the heat generated within the bag-like container, the side and bottom walls including a plurality of vent holes to allow a continuous flow of air to pass over the ignited charcoal members during the burning thereof.
Abstract: The combination of a door stop and releasable latching device, whereby a keeper member is mounted to a conventional door and positioned thereon to engage a stationary door stop having a latching mechanism coupled therewith, wherein the door stop comprises a main supporting body to be mounted in a fixed position relative to the keeper member, the fixed body having a slidable bumper cover which is spring biased in an outwardly direction to engage the head of the keeper, and wherein a latching lever is pivotally mounted to the fixed body and arranged to be actuated by the movement of the slidable bumper cover for releasable latching over the head of the keeper when the door is positioned in an open mode.
