  • Patent number: 6897167
Abstract: The thermal foot cover is an article of footwear to be worn when the wearer's foot is subjected to cold temperatures. The thermal foot cover has an upper cover portion attached to a bottom panel to define a cavity for insertion of a wearer's shoe-encased or boot-encased foot or a wearer's foot. The upper cover portion and the bottom panel are made from a material comprising an outer covering, a radiant barrier and a inner covering where the radiant barrier is sandwiched between the outer cover and the inner cover. The radiant barrier is the insulation system of the thermal foot cover, which reflects the wearer's body heat back inside the footwear and keeps the wearer's feet warm. The thermal foot cover is flexible, lightweight and readily washable due to the use of the radiant barrier as the insulation system.

  • Patent number: 6846983
Abstract: A millivoltage generator is provided in which a rod formed of a first metal extends in spaced relationship within a tubular sheath of a second metal, the rod being welded to the sheath at one end to form a conductive junction and held in place in the sheath by an epoxy seal proximate the other end of the rod which prevents moisture from collecting inside the sheath. The space between the sheath and the rod is filled with an insulating material. Preferably, a wire connector is fixed to the end of the rod which extends through and beyond the epoxy seal. It is also preferred that a bushing be welded to the outside of the sheath proximate the epoxy seal and that the bushing be externally threaded to facilitate mounting of the millivoltage generator. A second metal rod welded to the bushing extends from the bushing parallel to the first metal rod and beyond the epoxy seal. Another wire connector is fixed to the second metal rod to facilitate electrical connection of the millivoltage generator.

  • Patent number: 6844716
Abstract: A utility distribution pedestal for marine and recreational vehicles can be entirely separated and removed from its base without disturbing the service connections. Pedestals with different selections of receptacles can be quickly exchanged to change the service provided by any given pedestal location. Individual receptacle panels in the pedestal offering different combinations of receptacles can easily be added or exchanged after initial installation as utility needs change or for maintenance without any screw terminal wire removal. A metering system using four current transformers is controlled by an integrated mechanical jumper for switching the system into single or two phase configurations for one or two user readouts or a three-phase configuration for a one user readout. No pedestal disassembly or assembly is required to change these configurations. Remote monitoring for wireless metering and electromechanical counters may also be employed.

  • Patent number: 6840870
Abstract: An alignment guide for practice putting has a base with perpendicular target and putter face lines. An unobstructed gap extends away from the putter face line along the target line. A pair of guide rails are secured to the base in parallel relationship to and on opposite sides of the target line and spaced apart by a distance slightly greater than the distance from the toe to the heel of the putter head. The putter head can, therefore, move freely between, but be guided by, the rails. An adjustable stop limits the backswing of the putter head to allow comparison of the length of the backswing with the travel distance of the ball. An adjustable pair of stops simultaneously limiting travel of the toe and the heel of the putter head in the follow through confirm that the putter face has remained square to the target line.

  • Patent number: 6830599
Abstract: A valve and trigger cyclically connect a vacuum and a blower to a filter. The valve box has three openings, the first connectable to the vacuum, the second connectable to the blower and the third connectable to the filter. A gate inside the box, biased by the blower and the vacuum toward closing the first opening, is held against the bias by a trigger outside the box to close the second opening. The external trigger intervally operates to release the interior gate to close the first opening and open the second opening. The blower operates only if the trigger is operating. The gate is released once for approximately {fraction (1/12)} of a cycle interval during each trigger operating interval. A plurality of valves can be combined in a system with one trigger for cyclically sequentially connecting a plurality of filters to the vacuum and the blower.

  • Patent number: 6805389
Abstract: A shield for protecting a radiator mounted behind the front grille of a motor vehicle has a grating vertically disposed between the grille and the radiator. The grating has a matrix of quadrangular opening tapering from front to rear in the shape of a truncated pyramid. The increasing of open area in the front face of the grating and the tapered walls of the openings maximize the rate of flow of air to the radiator. The small openings on the rear face of the grating reduce the possibility of stones and debris passing through the grating to the radiator. The grating is mounted by use of mating clips and buttons attached to the vehicle frame and to the grating so that the grating can be easily removed for cleaning or replacement.

  • Patent number: 6752096
Abstract: A plastic rotationally molded polyethylene buoyancy tank for boat lifts allows connection of steel to lengthwise grooves molded into each side of the buoyancy tank. Preferably, a plastic bulkhead is formed within the tank during its molding process. A segment of framing steel is bracketed between a pair of inwardly tapered compressible opposed grips. The compressible grips each have outwardly tapered slots with mating tapered rigid inserts. With the inserts partially seated on the grips, the grips are slipped lengthwise or pressed laterally into their respective grooves. Bolts extending through the grips into threaded holes in the inserts are tightened to pull the grips over their tapered inserts. This spreads and compresses the grips in their respective grooves, locking the brackets and connecting steel in place on top of the tanks.

  • Patent number: 6696012
Abstract: A torch carriage assembly for use in bevel cutting a pipe has a ring gear which rotates concentrically about the pipe longitudinal axis. A shaft extending perpendicularly from the ring gear carries a torch arm block assembly which positions the cutting torch in relation to the pipe. A bracket is adaptable between a first configuration prohibiting and a second configuration permitting rotation of the shaft about its longitudinal axis for bevel cutting round pipes and out-of-round pipes, respectively. In the second configuration, a guide wheel assembly mounted on the shaft traces the surface of the pipe. A tension assembly continually urges the guide wheel assembly into contact with the surface of the pipe so that the angular position of the torch arm block assembly accurately reflects the out-of-round conditions of the pipe.

  • Patent number: 6691443
Abstract: An illuminator for an alpha-numeric/graphic information board is adapted to be disposed in front of the information. An array of light sources directly illuminates an edge of the lens and a plurality of grooves arranged in a front face of the lens disperses the light received from the array onto the information. This reduces the possibility of reflection of light from the illuminator toward the observer and does not significantly increase the overall thickness of the board. A transparent cover disposed against te front face of the lens protects the lens from dirt, debris, scratches, nicks and other damage and is easily cleaned and inexpensive to replace. Masking strips disposed on the rear face of the cover coincide with the grooves to block light from being dispersed away from the information and to emphasize or frame the information being illuminated to the observer.
