Abstract: Disclosed is an image forming apparatus having the following arrangement. When a first linking member pivotally moves to the original position, an engaging portion juttingly formed from the first linking member engages a first positioning portion formed in a frame, while a second roller coming into contact with a first roller rotatably supported to the frame. A second linking member is pivotally rotated in response to the pivotal rotation of the first linking member, and part of a transfer unit engages a second positioning portion formed in the frame to position the transfer unit relative to a photosensitive drum. In association with the pivotal rotation of the second linking member, a guide portion of the second linking member engages part of a fixing unit to position the guide portion relative to the fixing unit.
Abstract: A surgical instrument file system comprised of a screen on which the names and pictures of surgical instruments required for a surgical procedure are selectively displayed; surgical instruments to which a unique optically readable code mark such as a bar code is attached; a reader for reading the optically readable code mark; and a computer which stores the data about surgical instruments for the surgical procedure and into which the information from the optically readable code mark is inputted. The optically readable code mark on a surgical instrument is read by the reader and inputted into the computer, by which the read and inputted surgical instruments are successively identified on a screen, and finally the preparation of surgical instrument sets can be confirmed.
Abstract: An image processing apparatus used with a display device having a number of pixels arranged in a predetermined form includes a surface model creating processor operable to create a surface model which is defined by a number of polygons with each polygon having a surface number and a parameter. A frame memory has addresses corresponding to the pixels of the display device, and is operable to store a surface number at each address to represent the surface model in terms of surface numbers. A polygon parameter memory is operable to store the parameter of each polygon, and a texture data memory is operable to store texture data for each polygon at addresses arranged in a predetermined form. A calculator is operable to calculate, based on a designated address of the first memory and the parameter of the polygon corresponding to the surface number at the designated address, an address of the third memory storing texture data corresponding to the designated address.
Abstract: A method and equipment for bending a work to the extent of a target bending angle, including a first process of bending to bend a work with a ram driven by a two-shaft system having a pair of right and left drive mechanisms to the extent of the quantity of motion for each shaft corresponding to the target bending angle, a measurement process to measure the bending angles at both ends of the work bent in the first process of bending, a correction process to correct the quantity of motion for each shaft according to each error between the target bending angle and the respective bending angles at both ends of the work measured in the measurement process, and a second process of bending to bend the work with the ram driven by the two-shaft system in which each shaft is actuated by each drive mechanism to the extent of the quantity of motion for each shaft corrected by the correction process, all of the above processes being performed in series.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a stop control device of a slot gaming machine used for controlling the stop-action of rotary units such as reels in a rotary gaming machine. In the rotary gaming machine, a table for allocating voluntary time length data to each symbol on such rotary units is stored in a memory. It is possible to appoint symbols one by one by operating a symbol appointing circuit and to renew appointed symbols by operating the symbol appointing circuit at each time when the counted values coincide with time length data in the time allocating table. Thus, control is made so that the symbols appointed by the appointing circuit stop at a defined stop line. Under such configuration, any voluntary change of the probability of appearance for a certain combination mode of each symbol can be simply performed by merely changing the contents of the time-allocating table stored in the memory.
Abstract: An induction motor control apparatus for controlling the power factor at which an induction motor operates includes sensors and circuits for periodically detecting the effective (RMS) values of current and voltage supplied to the motor winding during a fixed number of cycles, e.g. one cycle, and multiplying these to obtain a value of apparent power of the motor, together with circuits for detecting the working power of the motor, with the power factor of the motor being thereby accurately obtained. The detected power factor is compared with an ideal value of power factor, to obtain an error amount that is applied to control the motor voltage. The ideal power factor is obtained by multiplying a designated value of power factor by a compensation amount that is determined in accordance with the motor load, thereby ensuring that stable operation of the motor is achieved even under the no-load condition.
Abstract: One of bolt section or a nut section on a ball screw devices, or nut sections (for example) are connected to gear sections axially movable, while the bolt sections are connected to a stationary element, so that relative rotation is given to the bolt section and the nut section to adjust movable sheaves. Between another of the bolt section or the nut section on the ball screw devices, or the bolt sections (for example) and the stationary element, adjustable retainers are installed without axial move being allowed, and holding apparatus to hold the retainers at required position is installed with the retainers. Due to the above, initial tension and position of the belt are adjusted and determined by varying the nut sections in axial direction for the bolt sections. It is possible to perform this adjustment after the assembly is completed.
Abstract: Provided is a power transmission device for four-wheel drive vehicles of both the full-time type and part-time types, wherein a wet multiple-disc clutch is mounted in a ring gear covering the front-wheel differential gear and arranged coaxially with the differential gear. The wet multiple-disc type clutch is engaged by means of a hydraulic actuator in which a plurality of pistons are arranged in series. Hydraulic pressure is fed into oil chambers formed by the pistons through individual or common oil passages. The wet multiple-clutch constitutes a differential motion limiting device for stopping or limiting the differential motion of a center differential gear for the full-time four wheel drive, or constitutes a rear wheel drive switching unit for engaging and disengaging the power transmission between the ring gear mount casing and the transfer unit.
Abstract: A steel laminate gasket of the invention is used for an internal combustion engine having at least one hole therein. The gasket comprises a first plate having at least one first hole and a first bead situated adjacent to the first hole to surround the same, and a second plate having at least one second hole and at least one second bead situated adjacent to the second hole to surround the same. The distance from the second hole to the second bead is different from that from the first hole to the first bead. When the first and second plates are assembled together, the first and second beads face against the second and first plates, respectively. When the gasket is tightened, the first and second beads form a plurality of corrugated beads at selected areas around the hole to securely seal the same.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a ceramic composition of high dielectric constant which comprises the major constituents of PbO, La.sub.2 O.sub.3, MO, ZrO.sub.2, and TiO.sub.2 in the ratio defined by the formula below.(1-x-y)PbO.multidot.x/2La.sub.2 O.sub.3 .multidot.yMo.multidot.(1-z)ZrO.sub.2 .multidot.zTiO.sub.2where,M represents Ba and/or Sr;0.06.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.0.300.03.ltoreq.y.ltoreq.0.480.20.ltoreq.z.ltoreq.0.50and an additive represented by PbWo.sub.4 and/or Pb(Mg.sub.1/2 W.sub.1/2)O.sub.3 in an amount of 1-40 wt % (in total) based on the above-mentioned major constituents (provided that the amount of PbWO.sub.4 is less than 15 wt % of the amount of the major constituents and the amount of Pb(Mg.sub.1/2 W.sub.1/2)O.sub.3 is less than 40 wt % of the amount of the major constituents). Less than 5 mol % of all Pb in the composition may be replaced by Ag and/or less than 6 mol % of all Pb in the composition may be replaced by Bi.
Abstract: A coin scale for measuring weight of a mailing material comprises a scale section and a base section situated under the scale section. The scale section includes an elongated arm, a coin receiving member formed at one end of the arm, a mail receiving member formed at the other end of the arm, and a first supporting device situated between the coin receiving member and the mail receiving member. The first supporting device is provided with a plurality of supporting points. The base section include a stand and a second supporting device formed on the stand. The second supporting device rotatably engages one of the supporting points and supports the arm as a fulcrum of a balance. In at least one supporting point, weight at the mail receiving member increases step by step corresponding to the particular weight zone of a mailing material as one coin is added in the coin receiving member.
Abstract: A selecting valve is provided, which is switched by different signals sent out when the vehicle is stopped or when the vehicle is to start to move. The selecting valve is connected to a hydraulic servo unit for a forward clutch which is engaged to transmit torque when the vehicle is to move forward, and is supplied with line pressure and a control pressure provided by an electronically operated regulating valve, such as an electronically controlled throttle valve. The regulated control pressure from the electronically operated regulating valve is supplied to the hydraulic servo unit for the forward clutch when the vehicle is stopped, while line pressure is supplied when the vehicle is to move, thus preventing creeping and shift shock at starts. Since the selecting valve is provided with a port leading to the hydraulic servo unit for a brake which restricts vehicle movement, the brake can be applied when the vehicle is stopped and released when moved, thus providing hill-holding capability.

Abstract: Novel primarily chain inorganic polysilazanes of average molecular weight of 690 to 2000 are prepared from novel adducts of a halosilane and a base by reacting the adducts with ammonia in unreactive solvents. Silicon nitride is prepared by heating the polysilazanes at 1000.degree. to 1600.degree. C., preferably below 1300.degree. C., most preferably 1000.degree. to 1100.degree. C.
Abstract: A pressure control valve includes pressure modulating section and a magnetic section. The magnetic section has a cylindrical case, a coil assembly, a cylindrical core, a rod and a plunger. The plunger is made of thick magnetic material. At the center of the plunger, a cylindrical concave whose diameter is slightly larger than that of the cylindrical core is provided. The end of the cylindrical core composes an extrusion by extending from the coil assembly. A magnetic attractive section made up by the cylindrical concave of the plunger and the extrusion of the cylindrical core both of which are located vis-a-vis each other, and is located away from the pressure modulating section. Due to the above, when operation the plunger is efficiently magnetized and attracted to the extrusion of the core. And even if fluid leaks from the pressure modulating section, it is difficult for the fluid to reach the magnetic attractive section.
Abstract: An anchoring device for prestressed concrete. The anchor is made of an outer member which has an inner hole with a cone shaped surface and an inner member which is made up of a plurality of wedges having at least one hole for holding a tension member. Both the inner member and the outer member are made by alternately superposing cloths of glass fibers and carbon fibers; impregnating the cloths with a resin and curing the resin.
Abstract: An endless transmission belt is formed of a plurality of symmetrical V blocks. Each V block comprises upper and lower portions disposed approximately parallel to each other, and two pillar portions connecting the upper and lower portions. The block includes side openings on both sides, and a center opening between the pillar portions. The upper and lower portions have wavy configurations, so that the upper and lower portions have flexibility against the force applied from sheaves to the V block.
Abstract: In a solenoid-operated pressure control valve having a pressure modulating section and a magnetic section, the pressure modulating section includes a valve sleeve having an application port, an output port, a feedback port having throttle passage, and a drain port, and a spool being movable in the valve sleeve; and the magnetic section includes a coil assembly and a rod. According to the above structure a force developed from the magnetic section, a force developed by a spring and an output pressure feedback force are applied and balanced, so that an application pressure is so modulated that the application pressure is taken out as an output pressure corresponding to input electric level to the magnetic section.

Abstract: A steel laminate gasket of the invention to be used for an internal combustion engine comprises a first plate and a second plate situated adjacent to the first plate. The first plate is provided with a first base section, first and second openings formed in the first base section and a first sealing structure integrally formed with the first base section around the first opening. The second plate is provided with a second base section placed over the first base section, a third opening formed in the second base section to be situated around the first opening, a fourth opening formed in the second base section, and a second sealing structure integrally formed with the second base section around the fourth opening. When the first and second plates are assembled, the first and second sealing structures do not lay over the second and first plates respectively and seal around holes of the engine.
