  • Patent number: 4807993
Abstract: Method and apparatus for measuring light by frequency-modulating a light signal from a sample being measured and demodulating the modulated signal in synchronism with the modulating operation, wherein there is provided a delay circuit which produces a series of pulses for synchronous rectification of the modulated signal in response to and with a predetermined time delay after the modulating operation, so that before measurement of a specific sample the delay time is changed so as to determine the phase of the synchronous rectification pulses most suitable for measurement of the specific sample.

  • Patent number: 4785930
Abstract: An ammunition container having a container tube and a lid at the front end is used for the storage and transport of grenades (10), rockets or the like. The intention is to rationalize transfer and facilitate operation (stackable, loading and unloading in the horizontal position). For this purpose, two parallel stacking surfaces (3, 4) located opposite one another are provided in the region of the two tube ends, and the lid is in the form of a hinged lid (6), the joint of which (axle 7) is located within the distance between the stacking surfaces and preferably parallel to the stacking surfaces. A pair of stacking surfaces is expediently provided on a collar, which is penetrated by the container tube (2). A double container having two adjacent tubes in common collars is advantageous. Two variants of lid closures, a transport lock, and a simple, cheap pressure equilibration valve are described.

  • Patent number: 4779133
Abstract: A low-noise televison system having means for suppressing increased noise without reduction of improved picture quality. In the television broadcast transmitter, a television video signal is separated into luminance and chrominance signals and the luminance signal is further separated into high and low frequency components. The high frequency component is pre-emphasized in a specific emphasis characteristic relating to the amplitude of the low frequency component and the pre-emphasized high frequency component is then combined with the low frequency component and further matrixed with the chrominance signal to recover the video signal to be transmitted. In the television receiver, the received video signal is separated into luminance and chrominance signals and the luminance signal is further separated into high and low frequency components in similar fashion to the transmitter.

  • Patent number: 4776386
Abstract: In this process, the prepared food, in portions and together with the cutlery, is arranged on a tray and placed in a refrigerator. Those parts of each portion which are to be heated before serving are introduced into containers which can be inductively heated, and each shelf, in the refrigerator, on which the tray is to be placed contains means for inductively heating these containers. To avoid the situation in which, during serving, some parts of the portion are hot and the others are still at refrigeration temperature, the inductively heatable containers are covered with a lid, the outside of which is also inductively heatable, and/or possess an outer surface, at least part of which can be inductively heated. Consequently, during inductive heating of the interior of the container and the food present therein, the external environment of the container and the food present there, as well as the cutlery, are brought to ambient temperature.

  • Patent number: 4769904
Abstract: The present invention involves a method and apparatus for sequencing leadless and leaded surface mountable components, feeding them directly from a sequencer to chip placement heads, and placing them at selected locations on a circuit board. The chip carriers of an endless chain conveyor carry each component of the sequence of components to a chip placement head. Direct supply from a sequencer having the chip carriers and a series of individual programmably controlled dispenser heads provides for quick and flexible variation of the input sequence without manual intervention. A plurality of the chip placement heads are mounted on a turret assembly to facilitate continuous unloading of the chip carriers and orienting, centering, and squaring of the components prior to placement on a circuit board.

  • Patent number: 4762515
Abstract: In pistol grip medicament implanter devices, wherein a trigger coupled to a plunger causes plunger advance movement that expels the medicament from the device when the trigger is pulled, a spring that forms part of the coupling and a lost motion arrangement controlled by the spring that converts trigger pull movement into spring take-up of the trigger movement when the plunger encounters resistance to advance movement greater than the spring bias. The trigger continues to move but the plunger does not, then when resistance to movement of the plunger becomes less than the spring bias, the spring force serves to advance the plunger, recovering the trigger pull motion previously lost. The greatest force that can be applied by the plunger to the medicament implant has become whatever bias is selected for the spring.
