    Abstract: A pedal-operated valve is provided controls the rate of fluid flow in a soft hose. A cradle positions a section of the hose so that its cross-sectional area can be compressed by the hinged rotation of a pinchcock toward the cradle in response to a pedal force to reduce the rate of flow. The compressed cross-section expands in response to the internal fluid pressure of the hose upon release of the pedal force to increase the rate of flow. A latch secures the pinchcock in an angular orientation relative to the cradle to maintain the reduced cross-sectional area. A lever is pedal operated to disengage the pinchcock from the latch.

    Abstract: A proactive anti-theft system and method for a vehicle that contacts a call center and a 911 center. The call center communicates with the local police dispatch center and contacts the vehicle's owner to confirm theft or other incident involving the vehicle. The anti-theft system continues communication between the alarm system and the 911 center until the vehicle is located or the alarm system is deactivated. The call center provides the local police dispatch center with information on the vehicle. The location of the vehicle can be determined by the mobile phone transmissions sent by the alarm system. The system can also provide audio surveillance of the interior of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A method of providing access to the interior of a cross-line that intersects with a primary pipeline of equal or greater diameter, including the steps of attaching a branch fitting to the exterior of the primary pipeline on the side thereof opposite the point of intersection of the cross-line, affixing a full opening valve to the branch fitting, securing a hot tap machine to the valve, by use of the hot tap machine, cutting an opening in the primary pipeline diametrically opposite of the cross-line and of a diameter at least equal to the internal diameter of the cross-line, and removing the hot tap machine leaving an access through the valve and diametrically through the primary pipeline into the interior of the cross-line.

    Abstract: A method of plugging a pipeline includes the steps of welding onto the exterior of the pipeline (10) first (12) and second (14) spaced apart collars, each having a sealing face (26,26A) in a plane perpendicular the pipeline (10) axis. A containment housing (34,36) is affixed by welding to the collars (12,14) to fully encompass a section of the pipeline (10) between the collars (12,14). A tapping (60) machine is then removably attached to an open top of the containment housing (34). Using the tapping machine (60) a short length of the pipeline (10) is cut and removed from between the collars (12,14) leaving two open exposed pipe ends (78,80). First and second seal elements (92,94) are positioned between the collars (12,14), Each having a forward sealing face. The seal elements (92,94) are forced apart from each other into sealing engagement with the collar sealing faces thereby closing the open, exposed ends (78,80) of the pipe (10).

    Abstract: An aircraft designed with three wings located on either side of the fuselage. The forward wing has a downward angle with a curved top and bottom surface. The upper wing is located towards the rear of the aircraft and above the forward wing. The lower wing is located below the upper wing and slightly forward. It is also located to the rear and below of the forward wing. The outer ends of all three wings come into contact at one point. The forward wing uses the Coanda effect to increase the airflow across the top surface of the bottom wing. The aircraft can be designed so that it is large enough to carry people and/or cargo, or to be small enough to be flown as a toy aircraft. The like design can use any type of aircraft engine commonly used today. One embodiment of the aircraft has two turbines, shaft-coupled to a power source, located on either side of the forward end of the fuselage.

The upper containment member having an integral upwardly extending tubular access portion affording passage for tapping the pipe. The upper and lower containment members are welded to each other and to the collars to fully encompass a portion of the pipe.
