Abstract: An apparatus for carrying a workpiece adjacent an exterior surface of a vehicle, provides a stationary resting surface mounted on an exterior surface of the vehicle and one or more movable clamping bars positioned adjacent to the resting surface. A driving screw moves the clamping bar in a scissors type motion, alternately toward the resting surface, so as to clamp the workpiece, and away from the resting surface so as to release the workpiece, whereby the workpiece may be safely transported by the vehicle. The apparatus may be mounted onto a panel truck, normally adjacent to one or both side panels, or may be mounted on the sides of a pick-up type truck.

Abstract: A lighting track apparatus includes elongated colored tubes which are easily bent into stable curved shapes to custom shape and fit sections of the apparatus into a track lighting system. Plural elongated electrical conductors are mechanically flexible and able to support low voltage lighting currents without significant temperature rise. An elongated non-conducting mechanical support is highly flexible so as to accept the shape of the tubes when bent. It engages with the tubes and the electrical conductors, whereby, the apparatus is easily formed into a curved shape that retains a selected curvature. A lamp or other appliance can be mounted on the apparatus, electrically contacting the conductors for power. The mechanical support is transparent so that the tubes may be seen.

Abstract: A beam is pivotally supported at a fixed pivot support, the beam movable in cyclic tilting motion such that ends of the beam move vertically in mutually opposing directions. The ends of the beam are pivotally engaged with vertical arms extending downwardly. The arms terminate with mixing plates immersed within the fluid so that the mixing plates cause fluid mixing as the tilts. A fixed film biomass is engaged with the surfaces of the plates for improved bio-processing within the tanks.

Abstract: A fluid exchange is provided through the wall of a canister using a clamp having a pair of jaws enabled for gripping the canister. The pair of jaws provides a tubular entry device positioned for penetrating the canister when the jaws are tightened on the canister. The entry device provides a hole cutter and a hole sealer. The pair of jaws also provides a rotational conformal surface for nesting contact with the canister so as to improve the ability of the clamp to secure itself on the canister.

Abstract: A rimless eyewear has a symmetrical placement of components about a bridge (2). The bridge (2) is attached directly to a peripheral edge (3) of a left lens (4) and a right lens (5) by a welding technique. Likewise, end-pieces (6) and (7) are attached directly to the peripheral edge (3) of the lenses (4) and (5) on either side. A left temple-piece (8) is attached to the left end-piece (6), and a separate right temple-piece (9) is attached to the right end-piece (7) by a mechanical means such as by hinges, pins, screws or brackets.

Abstract: A fluid flows control apparatus includes an elongate stocking having a flexible cylindrical sidewall. The sidewall has plural apertures of a shape and placement in the sidewall as to cover a majority of the surface area and to enable the sidewall to expand radially in preference to axial extension. The stocking is filled with a filter media that may also be chemically or biologically reactive or expansive upon absorption of water.

Abstract: A building strut is formed as a cylinder having a plurality of contiguous sidewalls. Opposing terminal ends of the sidewalls define the ends of the cylinder. One or more of the sidewall ends are formed as a coiled spiral. These spirals may be formed within one of the ends of the cylinder or lateral to the cylinder's end and thus provide extreme strength to the end of the cylinder. The ends of the sidewalls that are not coiled may terminate adjacent to the coiled sidewall or may extend axially beyond it, and they may be separated to form independent ears, or they may maintain their mutual integrity. If the ears are separate, they may be bent outwardly lateral to the cylinder, or at an angle to it, to facilitate joining to other structural members.

Abstract: A deck slotted into a left and a right deck halves in spaced apart positions so as to provide a slot therebetween. On each of the deck halves a pair of drums are mounted for rotation. Around each of the pairs of drums a rubber belt is engaged so that the rubber belts are in spaced apart adjacency. A motor is linked with at least one of the drums for rotating at least one of the rubber belts. A pair of rigid wires extends divergently forward from a forward end of the deck. A chamber is positioned rearwardly of the deck in a position for accepting aquatic growth moving between the rubber belts and in the slot in rearward motion. A hose is engaged rearwardly on the chamber for drawing the growth by suction into the hose.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus scans, stores, and forms images. The apparatus includes an optical scanning device adapted to produce optical images to be reproduced; and an image storing device, connected for receiving the optical images from the optical scanning device for temporary storage thereof. The apparatus also has a device for reproducing a corresponding image signal at a later time. A plurality of image formation devices are connected for receiving the image signal from the image storing device and are enabled for forming the image on sheets which move through the apparatus. The apparatus further includes a sheet feeding device, interconnected and adapted for selectively receiving sheets from a sheet storing device, delivering the sheets to at least one of the image forming devices for producing latent images of the optical images onto the sheets, and thereafter, delivering the sheets to a sheet receiving device.

Abstract: A burner sensor is electrically interconnected with a control circuit, the burner sensor enabled for detection of burner operation, the control circuit providing a timing feature enabled, during burner operation, for continuous repetitive timing cycles each for a fixed selected time interval and for activating at least one of an audio, i.e., buzzer, and a visual alarms for a fixed duration, at the completion of each of the timing cycles. Thus the operator is alerted to the fact that a heating coil is hot so that a significant burn and fire hazard is avoided.

Abstract: A game piece has a continuous wall closed on itself so as to define a hollow space within. The wall is made-up of a plurality of flat plates, where each of the plates is shaped as a polygon with straight side edges. Corresponding pairs of the side edges of adjacent pairs of the plates are aligned in parallel, and each pair of the adjacent side edges of the adjacent plates is joined by a rigid compression clip having opposing C-clamps.

Abstract: An audio visual system is provided comprising a housing, a video display, at least one speaker support coupled to at least one of the display and the housing, and at least one speaker mounted to and supported by the speaker support, the housing and the at least one speaker each having a front wall, the display and the at least one speaker support being movable from a first state, where the display and the at least one speaker, which is in a first position, are in the housing and hidden from view when viewing the front wall of the housing, to a second state, where the display and the at least one speaker are spaced from the housing and at least partially unobstructed thereby with the at least one speaker being in a second position differently spaced from the display than when in the first position. Among the many advantages of the invention is that the video display and speakers can be hidden from view when the system is not in use.

Abstract: An apparatus comprises in combination a storybook and a separate audio recorder adapted for mounting on the storybook. The recorder may be used with any one of several storybooks by recording the storyline of each book by the purchaser for later playback by a child. Buttons corresponding to the several pages of the storybook are provided so that a child is able to correlate a button with each page to hear the story as well as read it. Dual recording devices may be played simultaneously wherein one may provide a background music or sound, while the other provides and audio representation of the text or whatever audio the user desires.

Abstract: A ladder storage rack uses a pair of spaced apart channels positioned with upper portions arranged in mutual parallel and with lower portions in mutual divergence so as to accept a ladder with upper leg portions in parallel positions and with lower leg portions in a divergent relationship. Plural feet extend from the channels and terminate with mounting plates enabling securement to a mounting deck; as, for instance, of a fire truck. A ladder restraining bar is engaged between the channels at a one end and near the other end of the channels, a means for clamping is positioned for engaging a ladder supported by the apparatus.

Abstract: A cargo anchor with a cover plate having a peripheral edge is extensive for covering a panel aperture in the upfacing surface of a side wall of a truck. An anchor bar for securing an anchor line is engaged with the cover plate. A locator plate is fastened to the cover plate with screws and is positioned within a well associated with the panel aperture. The locator plate engages a flange tube within the truck sidewall, limiting movement of the cargo anchor so that a space between the panel aperture and the peripheral edge of the cover plate cannot occur.

Abstract: A beach umbrella provides an elongated support shaft having a pointed distal end inserted into a soft surface, and a proximal folding canopy positioned below an upper terminal end of the support shaft. The folding canopy provides a fabric panel stretched over a plurality of ribs engaged with the support shaft and extending radially from it to form a downwardly convex external surface. A flexible strap is attached over the upper terminal end of the support shaft and an opposing eyelet engaged with the tip of one of the ribs of the umbrella. A securing line is fixed at a distal end to a stake driven into the surface so the line forms a downwardly divergent angle with the support shaft. The flexible strap lies in contact with the external surface of the fabric panel and is joined at its upper end with the strap. Strap and line are arranged to point upwind to counter wind forces so that the umbrella cannot be blown over.

Abstract: A wave making method positions a shallow draft vessel off-shore form a shoreline of a sea in a position whereby one side of the vessel is in parallel to the shoreline. A pump is used for pumping seawater into a tank interior to the vessel. When the vessel is filled, the water is lifted to a rim of a side of the tank nearest to the shoreline to thereby dump the water in the tank over a side of the vessel. The dumped water is directed outwardly from the vessel and falls onto a submerged curved platform attached to the vessel and which extends outwardly therefrom. The platform creates a wave that moves away from the one side of the vessel toward the shoreline and is suitable for surfing.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for dispensing fluids into an air line comprises a container having a valve so as to selectively open the container to allow flow of fluids therefrom, the container being configured with a circumferential channel and with a circumferential groove about its perimeter. The apparatus further comprises a cap having a ring configured to engage the groove so as to rotatably mount the cap onto the container, the cap being further configured with a post formed so as to selectively engage the channel and selectively allow the cap to move axially along the container to actuate the valve. A nozzle extends longitudinally from the cap and is configured with multiple apertures and a spiral thread thereabout so as to be threadably inserted into the air line and dispense fluids therein upon actuation of the valve.

Abstract: An annunciating apparatus comprises a toilet tank containing water and an electrical circuit within an enclosure. Extending upwardly from the enclosure, an arm terminates with a hook engaging the toilet tank for suspending the enclosure in a position just below the toilet tank. The electrical circuit provides a source of electricity, an activating circuit, a sound producing circuit, a sound selecting circuit, an amplifying circuit and a speaker. This circuit is enabled for producing a selected sound from the speaker when the toilet tank is flushed. Two modes are possible; one where the sound is initiated by the water in the tank dropping during flush, and the second when a selected flush related sound is picked up.
