  • Patent number: 4400404
Abstract: A food product and a method of preparing the same in which a rectangularly shaped piece of dough of a predetermined consistency is provided with a paste-like filling on one side thereof. A portion of the rectangularly shaped dough is folded on its short edges over the filling to bring the longer edges thereof into abutment, whereupon a suitable crimping means seals the open edges for maintaining the paste-like filling sandwiched within the dough. The short edges of the folded dough are brought together in a circular end to end relationship to form a toroidal-shaped food product. The food product is heated at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined period of time and is subsequently frozen for storage and delivery to the final consumer. The consumer heats the food product at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined period of time prior to consumption thereof.

  • Patent number: 4393619
Abstract: A unique doll eye is disclosed which has the realistic appearance of a human eye. The doll eye comprises a substantially spherical body constructed of porcelain and with a hole formed diametrically through it. An eye insert having an elongated stem and a flared out portion at one end of the stem is glued within the hole so that the outer periphery of the eye insert flared out portion conforms substantially with the outer periphery of the spherical body. In addition, the eye insert is constructed of a transparent material and the opposite or inward side of the flared out portion is painted with a suitable color so that the eye insert gives the appearance of the iris of the human eye. The body together with the eye insert is then coated with polyurethane or similar transparent material and the resulting doll eye has a realistic appearance of a human eye.

  • Patent number: 4387453
Abstract: A high fidelity turntable system with low aggregate resonance is disclosed. The turntable system comprises a tone arm assembly and a belt-driven platter assembly joined rigidly by a silent substructure of pure aluminum tubing and other shapes. This low acoustic mass substructure is internally damped beyond its resonance point and is resiliently suspended from a base plate in a mounting cabinet to isolate the turntable system for substantially all resonant feedback. The acoustic mass of the turntable system and, consequently, the resonance, is further reduced by decoupling the tone arm counterweight from the tone arm assembly by means of additional resilient elements.

  • Patent number: 4387022
Abstract: A fluid filtering device is provided for use with a fluid system having a fluid reservoir at least partially filled with fluid. The filter device comprises a housing which is submerged within the reservoir and has a fluid port. An elongated filter assembly comprising a tubular filter element open at one end and a holder assembly secured to the other end of the filter element is insertable into the reservoir so that the open end of the filter element sealingly engages the submerged housing. A fluid passage through the housing fluidly connects the fluid port with the interior of the filter element. A stopper is formed on the free end of the holder assembly so that the entire filter assembly can be inverted and reinserted into the reservoir whereupon the stopper prevents fluid flow through the fluid passage permitting the servicing of other system downstream of the filter assembly without it being necessary to drain the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4378932
Abstract: A pressure responsive valve assembly which comprises a housing having an upper part and a lower part. A fluid coupling with an inlet and an outlet is contained in the lower housing part and a fluid passageway extends between and connects the inlet to the outlet. A gate is slidably mounted within the lower housing part and movable between a closed position in which the gate extends across the passageway and blocks fluid flow between the inlet and outlet, and an open position in which the gate opens at least a portion of the fluid passageway. The actuation of the gate is controlled by a pressure responsive diaphragm which permits the gate to move to its open position only when the pressure from an external pressure line falls below a predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: RE31375
Abstract: A transponder-responder system is provided which comprises a home station and at least one remote station. A transmitter at the home station periodically generates interrogation pulses by means of a directional sweep antenna across a search area. Each remote station includes a receiver and transmitter. Upon receipt of an interrogation pulse by the remote station receiver and while enabled, the remote station transmitter transmits a digitally encoded response signal which is received by a receiver at the home station. Upon receipt of the response signal by the home station receiver, timing circuitry at the home station determines the distance between the home and remote station by measuring the elapsed time between the transmission of the last interrogation pulse and the receipt of the response signal. Additionally, the home station includes circuitry which determines the rotational position of the sweep antenna and circuitry which decodes the response signal.
